I was transmigrated into the world of 'Peerless Battle Emperor'. A run-of-the-mill story about a trash cultivator who rose through the ranks after acquiring a godly inheritance.

I took over a young master. The kind that would cause trouble for the main character and get his face slapped thereafter.

His aptitude for cultivation was decent; but not strong enough. Nevertheless--he's rich, has loyal servants and can practically do whatever he wants as long it doesn't shame the Clan.

The world of cultivation was fraught with dangers. Since I knew where the inheritance was, don't mind if I take them. First come, first serve.

Not saying I'd get it, just because I knew its whereabouts.

...doesn't hurt to try; it's relatively near. Judging by the current date, it'd take a few days before the MC stumbled into it.

After I got a good enough grasp of the world—I went outside the Clan manor. I didn't take any servants—don't wanna be too flashy 'bout it.

...

Before me was the edge of a cliff and the panoramic visage of the entire valley.

How did the MC get the inheritance, after this?

Hmm...it sucks. I really didn't remember much in the novel.

Forget about it. I'm not the main character. It's only right to do this my own way.

I clasped my hands in front of the valley. I think it was a palm on my left and fist on the right.

"This little one paid respects to the Elder."

I patiently waited for the response while keeping my posture. It didn't take long before an old, ancient voice bellowed:

"What do you seek, young one?"

"This little one is not confident in my own cultivation. I'm hoping Elder can offer me some pointers."

"...and what can you give me in return?"

Ah, this is getting troublesome. I tried my hardest to remember...that's it!

"I have good news for Elder. A few days later, your successor would arrive. In the future, he would be a formidable figure—capable of wreaking havoc against the heavens himself."

There was a brief pause...

While I prefer to get the whole inheritance, I don't think I have what he sought.

"This old man is disappointed."

Figures...eh.

"This young and already has no confidence—this isn't the way to live in the cultivation world! That couldn't be helped. This old man shall accept you as a direct disciple. Now, what are you waiting for? Kowtow to your master!"

I really want to accept his inheritance, but I still have my reservations...

"I will acknowledge you as my master if you can solve the cultivation problem I'm having..."

"See? That's more like it! I changed my mind. I will instruct you for a while and only if our Dao is aligned, we'll acknowledge each other as master and disciple."

"Deal."

"I'll be overseeing you from now on."

For a moment there I felt an overwhelming intrusive force, going inside my body.

I could hear the Elder talking, right inside my mind.

Due to the Elder's eagerness, I went back to my own residence and underwent a little training.

[Hahaha! You're a lot better than I expect, kid. I thought you're just some poor-ass cultivator who's labeled as trash—but you're actually a bonafide young master! Not to mention, your talent is not bad, Not enough to be called genius but I really like your spirit. Enough chit-chat, cultivate more!]

In my past life, I really had no knowledge of martial arts, not to mention—cultivating. But as I've inherited the memories, experiences and even the muscle memory of this young master—things went pretty well.

...and the days passed by like that. Under the Elder's guidance, my cultivation progressed with little to no issues. His lectures and demonstrations were relatively easy to understand and it's actually fun. I always thought cultivation itself was something really boring.

[Dao is a path. It's an ideal. Cultivation isn't about becoming the fastest, it's about having a good foundation! A bad foundation would only crumble later on, while good foundation withstood the test of time!]

[The root of cultivation lies in the Heart. Every single person has their unique ways and only themselves knows their true path—not your parents; not your master; not even your ancestors! I have only shown you my way, you have to walk the rest of it yourself!]

[This battle technique I taught you, Flowing River, is perfectly tailored for your mild temperament. It's great for self-defense—using your opponent's strength against themselves. Observe the flow of this river while attuning yourself to its rhythm—breath in, breathe out...slow and steady. Yes, you got it the first try!]

[Lotus Breathing Technique seems perfect to train your Inner Energy as well. It ]
is a far-reaching cultivation art, from Mortal to the Saint Realm. This one's applicable from the time you start cultivating but better late than never. You just need to reinforce your cultivation at this point. Your previous foundation was already decent.

By the time you reach the Warrior Realm, I will give you a more advanced version of this manual.]

[Nine Yang Body Art...]

[Nirvana Saber Art...]

I had ascended to Peak Mortal and reinforced my cultivation base. It would take only a month before I could break through into the Warrior Realm.

My parents also saw me in a better light since I was diligent in cultivating. They increased my allowance and gave me some pills and a spirit low-grade Saber. For a mere young master—even if he's the Clan Head's eldest son, this was already an extravagant prize. At least in this region.

The servants were also willing to sacrifice their lives for me, the moment I was able to pinpoint the troubles in their cultivation.

...although it's just the Elder complaining about their lack of comprehension--I'm just mouthing it off.

I was so into it—I didn't realize 'that day' already went past.

I just happen to know when one of the servants talked about it.

"Did you hear it? Some youngster with trash aptitude jumped off the cliff yesterday. He's the only child as well."

"I heard he was like this after his engagement was annulled? Ah! Greetings, young master!"

I simply nod as they clasped their hands, and walked past.

Let's just pretend I didn't hear anything.

[Hmm...you seem interested in that person? Who is he...a friend?]

I said in my mind, "Let's just say--if not for him, I won't be able to meet you, Elder."

[Ah...]

Both of us paid respects to the MC and just went along our lives.

Now I remember.

The reason why the MC got the godly inheritance, was due to this Elder rebuking him from trying to commit suicide.

The elder gave him the Lotus Breathing Technique. After cultivating it, he found himself calming down and from that point on, he found a new reason to live. To cultivate and to become the strongest cultivator, no one would dare to look down on him anymore.

...but that has nothing to do with me.

The only reason he got so far was the Author's plot armor and his 'heavenly' luck, not his own abilities.

He kept picking fights with people he should not offend; he was too arrogant just because he kept getting lucky every single time. Beautiful women fell for him left and right for no reason.

Despite him being a battle junkie, he kept making the same mistakes. Because, even if he's about to die, there'd be something out there that saved his ass every single time.

His actions were mostly short-sighted. He could only scheme because everyone else suddenly became a lot more stupid when he was around.

The worst of all, he kept saying it was due to his lack of talent, that hardship always fell on him—and not because of his terrible personality.

That plot armor and luck were many times godlier than someone chosen by heavens.

If it was such a terrible novel, why do I keep reading it?

No, I only read it 'til the beginning parts, before I checked Novelupdates and read most of the bad reviews.

...then I dropped it.

The reason why I remember so much of it was due to me reading so many stories similar to this one.

It was really ironic--if I got transmigrated to a novel—it has to be this one.

At first, I was like—fuck me, right?

But then—oh well, let's just make the best use of it and experience the world the best I could.

It's not the same world as the novel—just similar. The MC is just a regular person without plot armor.

That explains why he just died after jumping off the cliff.

Maybe in his next life, he'd be a plant.

Plants can't commit suicide anyway.

Oh well, my Master called me.

Guess I'd better start cultivating again.
