Yao Ai immediately dropped the topic after getting his answer. Anyway, she didn’t necessarily want to make trouble. She was just curious and didn’t want to be left out of the loop after Li Ming and Duan Zhi Hao had done something without her. Since Li Ming had told her, she didn’t have any reason to complain anymore. Instead, she dug through his bag, checking what exactly he had brought along and then giving a taste.

As soon as she did, she raised her brows. "When you told us first that you like to cook, I thought you were just bragging. Turns out you’re the real deal." She actually wanted to throw in that she couldn’t understand at all why his ex had treated him so badly if this was the type of thing she could enjoy on the regular but she kept quiet at the last moment.

Yesterday, right after they had decided to meet up in front of the school instead, Duan Zhi Hao had messaged her privately, telling her not to bring up Li Ming’s ex. She had been a bit confused but after some prodding, Duan Zhi Hao had explained that apparently, this was something that was really hurting Li Ming even if he didn’t show it.

Well, she didn’t intend to hurt him so, of course, now that she had gotten a reminder, she wouldn’t bring it up. No, if he wanted to talk about it, he could, but she wouldn’t force the issue.

Previously, she had really just thought that it might help him to talk about it so he could get over it and find a new girlfriend. But if he wasn’t ready, then he wasn’t ready. She wouldn’t push for it.

Anyway, the type of man that would be hung up over an ex was clearly the type of man who cared about the people he dated a lot. That was a good quality to have. She shouldn’t try to get him out of the habit for the sake of his future girlfriend.

Li Ming had no idea that she had just wanted to comment on his love life once again, but Duan Zhi Hao gave her a look through the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but smile.

Last night, he had been really agonizing over what to say. Originally, he hadn’t thought it would be much of a problem to comment a bit. Anyway, while Li Ming wasn’t super open about his ex, he had talked about it every now and then. And being hung up over somebody you yourself had broken up with just didn’t seem like a good idea, so if they could help him get over it at least a little bit faster, then as his friends, that was precisely what they should do.

But then yesterday, after he realized that most likely, Li Ming’s ex wasn’t a girl at all but instead a guy, he also realized how fucking awkward it had to have been to have two people talk about something they literally had no idea about. Really, they had both been talking out of their asses because they believed they knew better than the actual person and now, he felt like he had slapped his own face. Why hadn’t he just shut up?

Well, he hadn’t realized until it was too late but now that he knew, he really couldn’t let it go on. So, in the end, he had found the best excuse he could find to make Yao Ai shut up about the topic as well without accidentally outing Li Ming. He hadn’t been sure if it would actually work out but now, it seemed that they might get through this day without any more awkwardness for Li Ming. Yao Ai had clearly taken his words to heart. Although maybe he shouldn’t count on that staying the case until the end of the day.

Thinking of that, he couldn’t help but glance at Li Ming before he turned back to look at the street. He should probably make them switch the topic. That would be the safest bet to make sure she wouldn’t slip up. "So, I didn’t take a closer look at that park. Is there anything you really want to do? Or something we should take note of?"

Li Ming raised his brows and then slowly shook his head. "I’m never been there myself and while I did look it up yesterday before I made the suggestion, I don’t think I’m all that up-to-date. I’d say unless sister Yao has something specific she’s looking forward to, let’s just look around and then queue up for anything we think might be fun. The lines are probably going to be really long."

Yao Ai immediately nodded. "I wasn’t there yet either some friends have talked about how it was when they went with their families when they were younger. I’m afraid we won’t be able to do all that much. Even though we’re early and we can stay the whole day, just waiting will take a lot of time. I hope we will get a bit lucky."

Li Ming nodded and then finally pulled out his phone. "Well, we could look up some things we definitely want to do. That’d cut down some of the time we might otherwise spend aimlessly roaming about."

Duan Zhi Hao raised his brows at him. "We could, but I thought just having a look around was part of the fun."

Li Ming chuckled in response. "I don’t think it is, not with that many people around. If there were only some or we had the whole park to ourselves, then yes, I’m sure that it would be awesome. But I’m afraid with so many people there, it might actually get taxing. I really hope it’s not going to be as bad though." This was one of the reasons why he had been a bit reluctant to suggest this. Even though it was definitely something that was fun, how much fun it would be depended on how many other people there were. That kind of thing was really just based on luck.

Even though he was worried, Yao Ai didn’t seem to be. "I don’t care about either way. But we can just pick a general direction based on what we absolutely want to do but then look around on the way. Also, I really don’t mind people. Actually, it might be fun. Especially if we meet somebody nice."

She gave Li Ming a quick glance, feeling like this would have been a prime opportunity to get him a new girlfriend but thinking of what Duan Zhi Hao had said, she stayed quiet about it. Anyway, she could still just look around on her own. If she saw somebody interesting, she’d just bring it up to Duan Zhi Hao first to make sure what he thought. Even if it was a depressing topic for Li Ming, she still hadn’t given up on her plan yet.
