The similarity of my cover with many other covers has been brought to my attention. That's because it is a free non-copyrighted image and so, many people use it. Anyway, I decided to commission an artist to make a new cover. Here it is:
I can give some feedback to the artist before accepting it. Any thoughts on it? Do anything need to be added?
After revision:

Looks decent. It'll get the job done.
My only comment would be that the character lacks armguards. Pural. Yet has the silk robe. It should have both, or neither, given what you've written.
Otherwise, it fits well.
True, I will tell that to the artist
@nikostar Can it have a modern ancient feeling. By making variation of clothing. Current picture will indeed get the job done, however it doesn't...seem good at second glance.
its better than the stick figure i would have drawn so i like it
I don't mind the pose, it would be good for it to have some kind off background, even if it's a simple one
This may be a late comment lol, but that pose lack a dynamic feels and I mean it is a bit stiff in my opinion. But it is up to you if you like it or not, but I would prefer a dynamic pose of either attack or moving with a background that will show a canyon or something from one of the floors or levels.
is that a crack on the spear near the head (the wooden part)? or is that his hair outline that was not removed?
does he really need a second armguard though?
I do like his facial expression, I can imagine he is a battle hardened expert without the body to show it. The hair over his left eye makes him look a little too emo, but also not caring about small details as he might be thinking right now. Also about how he is not wearing jeans to show he is from the modern world, I think this is fine as he has mostly separated from that mentally already, and as he had already gone through the merchants a few times and I can imagine getting clothing even if not mentioned as secondary parts in the story like how it doesn't talk too much about him drinking water or refilling it from a well.
A side thought, I don't like his right boot (left in the image) as it has those green highlights, maybe if it was a little bit more orange brown instead of green brown. You could leave the greenish color but make the lines more round too. Also that is a long straight line for the bottom of the boot, but honestly its fine, the artist was intentionally shading the area darker as it's not important to look at anyways.
I like the rivets on the spear. I like that random belt tongue and the rivet belt on his left hip. I do wonder where that rope from his cape going under his armpit leads to. Also that button on his right upper arm/bicep (left side of image, we can see the back side of button?), what is that?
Secondary side thought, there are a number of metal parts on his clothing and leather parts too.
Overall, I really like it. 9.5/10
everything I said before... I like the armguards and the jeans in the second image now that I see how it came out and the out of place shoes really give it that: i used to live in a modern world feel. The shorter haircut also gives him a better appeal as a former modern young person. on that note, I have been subconsciously imagining the MC around 18, but the actual age has never been explicitly mentioned -- only that he went back in time by 8 years, iirc. Overall, I like the changes and improvements in the second image.
A background? I mean, I know you can probably just paste it over the top of something, but it might be difficult to match art styles enough that they seem to go together. The shadow at the feet can be more sensible if the artist does the whole image, you can tell by looking at the lines of the shadows that the artist has a fair ability with them.
I think that's an unnatural pose. Don't people normally unconsciously keep sharp or pointed objects safely away from their faces?
It's above his face tho? plus parallel?
Yes, I also believe that
oh are we all complaining about the cover art? in that case i want to point out thats a spear not a staff.
you know he had to do it to em
Loved it! He looked like a typical gangly healer in mangas.
