Description:
[Identification] is a skill that allows the user to see the status of their targets, meaning the skill holder can discover the strengths and weaknesses of their targets.
One can also find out the identity of creatures and items, which is the real reason for this skill's existence. However, people are more interested in the first use of it.
To further see what the results of [Identification] is, one needs to use the [Discern] skill, which is unlocked in the Skill Shop when [Identification] reaches Lv.10. When [Identification] reaches Lv.25, it unlocks the [Probing] skill, which allows the skill holder to detect if someone tries to fake or change the result of [Identification].
Alvatria's comment: As it would be too easy if all this was in one skill, we decided to split the effects into three different ones.
Garami's comment: Cheapskate... but this skill would be too good to be true if you got all that in one skill at once.
To Author: I just started reading the rewrited version and never read the original, so sorry if I'm asking something dumb, but why would the MC need this skill when the Kigal-note is already a magical wikipedia of sorts?
Because the Note only tells about stuff you already know about. Meaning if you meet a monster you don't know about for the first time, the Note can't help you with the info since you don't know the name. The name is the minimum requirement. Also, the skill lets you keep an eye on your stats, levels, and skill progression.
@Greydra Ah, okay. Thank you.
in this version, will Garami aim at for unique skill Empyrean Eyes, or will it be a different perception ability?
She won't be told about it. Can't say anything more.
wait, does that make it so if you want to see stats needs the discern skill, or is it when seeing skills like with the double appraise?
It's the double appraisal thing. Without Discern, you can only see the number of skills the target has.
@Greydra thanks, i just read it in the story chapter xD
@Greydra entendo, antes era preciso usar a habilidade novamente para conseguir mais informações, agora é preciso adquirir e evoluir outras habilidades para que se tem o mesmo efeito que na versão anterior.
@Shoto That's right. And the effects of the skills are varying since they have different skill levels. A creature that Identification can see through completely can also be something that Discern is too low in level to pass that monster's resistance stats to see its skills.
