Today is a very special day. Why you ask? Well, today is the day I'm getting my status checked! It was supposed to be done on my 10th birthday, but I was in a coma for reasons they still won't tell me. According to Mary every child, noble or commoner, goes to the church to get their status checked when they turn 10. This way they can work hard towards a future their skills can help them with. She said that her skills turned out to be sewing, cleaning, and space magic. The first two skills lead her to work as a maid and her space magic allows her to store anything she might need for her job. Of course, she turned out to be great for the job and eventually ended up as my nursemaid.

Papa's skills were all related to being a Duke and grandpa, who lives in one of the countryside fiefs, had similar skills. Gene and Uncle Silvester also have skills that relate to the Prime Minister position, so I'm guessing they're things like maths, language, leadership, and whatnot. Since I am the only child to inherit the Duke's title I should have a similar skill set to my father.

'Shame I can't do what the people in the light novels do and see my skills by saying 'status'.'

....Please tell me this did NOT just happen. I am not seeing this right now, it is all my imagination. When I get to the church I will get my real status and it will be completely normal. Yup, normal. Please don't look at me like that, Yue, it's not helping my self delusion.

I was so wrapped up in my thoughts that we were at the church before I even realized we had left. Papa was glowing with excitement over what my skills would be. He talked non-stop about how I would get skills that surpassed any others since I was his lovely daughter. What ever happened to the stoic Duke from the novel? My image of him keeps getting shattered by the day.

"Welcome, Lord Bloodworth, to the church of Lusolus." A Santa looking priest came to greet us when we walked inside. His outfit was even red and gave me a Christmas vibe when I saw that twinkle in his eyes. "And you must be the Lady Lunastella! I'm happy to see that you have awoken and are ready for your status check." He lead me over to a table that had two statues beside it. One was of a man with a fierce face, but his eyes seemed to hold a kindness to them. He wore robes that held symbols of the Sun over it, so this must be the God Solutos.

The other statue was of a woman with long hair and a gentle face. She also wore robes but her's held symbols of the moon, meaning this must be Lunafey. As I stared at the statue of Lunafey, I couldn't help but feel that I knew her from somewhere. She gave me the same happy and warm feeling that my Mom from my past life would give me. I wonder if the mother that died giving birth to me would have been this way as well.

The priest held out a thin metal plate that had symbols etched into it along the edges. He told me that the symbols helped identify and record my skills onto a dog tag like object, and that only my mana could access it afterwards. Instructing me to place my hand on the center of the plate, I immediately felt something prick all five of my fingers. Jerking my hand back, I saw the droplets of blood being sucked into the plate before it started to shine.

It was beginning to hurt my eyes when it suddenly stopped and tiny rectangular metal sheet popped out of the side. The Santa priest took the sheet and attached it to a chain and placed it over my head. He smiled at me and showed us to a separate room to see my results in private. Apparently, nobles are shown to another room for privacy while commoners were expected to wait until they get home to see what they got. Papa quickly shooed the priest out of the room and pulled me into a sitting hug.

"Okay, Luna, now just hold it and think 'Status Open', that will allow me to see. Just saying 'Status' will only let you see what you got." Taking a deep breath, I held the tag in my hand thought the words that would allow us to see.

For some reason, one of my titles looked a bit different from last time I checked. Other than that, everything else looked the same, even the weird scribbles next to my race. What was with that anyways? I continued to ponder on the glitch text by my race when I realized Papa hasn't said one thing about my Status. Usually he would have been praising me non-stop about the littlest of things, and yet not a peep was heard now. Glancing up, I saw the shock that was written all over his face.

"Papa? What's wrong? Is there something bad on my Status?"

".....-ever."

"What?"

"I HAVE THE GREATEST DAUGHTER EVER!!!" I couldn't help but look at him with a deadpan expression. He literally stood up holding me with one arm while the other was clenched into a fist. I swear there seemed to be fire burning in his eyes. "I KNEW YOU WERE SPECIAL, LUNA! OF COURSE YOU ARE! YOU'RE MY PRECIOUS ONE-OF-A-KIND LOVING DAUGHTER!!!" Annoying laughter filled the room and I just wished I could go home.
