"Papa! I'm Ho-"

"LUNA!!!!" Papa cried as he swept me up into his arms, tears running down his face as he rubbed his cheek against mine. I wonder what the people he works with would say if they saw him now. "Luna, Papa has been so worried! Where have you been! Did someone take you!? Tell Papa who they are and I shall smite them in your place! YOU!!!!"

Papa suddenly placed me a distance away on the ground before lunging at Skalander with murderous intent. Unlike back in the forest, he was in his human form so that he could meet my father. Thanks to him using my ability to learn his languages, he also gained my language since he has a similar skill. I wonder is Papa is able to see his horn as well. Skalander said that some parts of his form couldn't be hidden when shifting into another form, so a spell is used to hide it instead. But enough thought rambling, I need to stop Papa.

"Papa! Stop! Don't hurt him!" I tried to reach out and get between the two but someone had erected a shield to stop anyone from getting involved. Papa was powerful, I knew this from the novel, but since I was reincarnated I realized something very crucial: He had no restraint when it comes to me and my safety. "If you don't stop now, I will........I will NEVER TALK TO YOU AGAIN."

It grew quiet after it sounded like something broke. I glanced over and say Papa looking extremely pale and kneeling on the ground. If this was an anime or manga I think an image of his soul would be attempting to leave through his mouth. Skalander looked slightly worried but our bond tells me that it's more for Papa's mental health than physical harm. The shield had disappeared so I walked slowly up to him and held his face between my hands. His eyes looked into mine and shined with unshed tears, pleading with me not to really mean what I said.

"We need to talk so let's go to the parlor room, ok?" Papa nodded in consent and lead the way to the room, muttering about how I was growing up too fast and was too young to get married. He really needs to do something about his wild imagination when it comes to me. In my past life I only had mom around me growing up. She told me that my father died while protecting some people from a robber; he was a police officer. The robber had an accomplice but he managed to take down the both of them before succumbing to his wounds. I was always proud to be his daughter, but I still missed out on crucial father-daughter memories. When I woke up with my memories here in this life, I thought that maybe I could have that here. I just didn't know then how much an extreme doting father could be so annoying. I love him though.

"Now that everyone is settled, I would like to introduce you to each other." Skalander smiled wearily while Papa still looked like his soul was trying to escape. "This is my Papa, Duke Sean Bern Von Bloodworth. Papa, this my contracted familiar, Skalander."

"Contracted familiar? This man is clearly human, Luna, no human can become a familiar." Seems Papa snapped out of whatever funk he was in. "He is clearly lying to you! But don't worry, Papa will take very good care of him."

"(Sigh) Lan? Can you turn back into your other form?"

"Lan?"

"Don't you like it?" I gave him my biggest puppy-dog eyes with my hands clasped in front of my face. I've seen many anime girls do this with good results, maybe it'll work for me as well. He gave out a sigh of his own before nodding and his form began to glow. It didn't take long before he stood in the middle of the parlor as a slightly shining silver alicorn. He tossed his head and flicked his mane causing the silky strands to flutter in the air. I couldn't help myself as I ran over to him and buried my hands into his fur. It didn't feel anything like regular horse fur, in fact I never saw a horse with fur this long back in the U.S. I was busy indulging my mofumofu meter when I heard Papa whisper my name.

"Luna....is that an alicorn?" Looking back at him, I saw his mouth open wide in disbelief.

"...yes?" His head tilted down, causing his bangs to over shadow his eyes, and his body started to shake. I couldn't help but gasp at the sight. It looked like he was terrified of Lan now that he was back in his original form. "Papa! It's ok! Lan is-" I ran towards him with my arms stretched to give him a big hug when he suddenly stood up laughing like a maniac.

"I KNEW MY DAUGHTER WAS THE BEST! SHE POWERFUL, WONDERFUL, CUTE, KIND, ADORABLE, AND EVEN GOT AN ALICORN AS HER FAMILIAR!"

"Papa...." I could feel a sweat drop forming as I watched him gloat to no one.

⌈Is your father alright, Young One? He seems....disturbed, in more ways than one.⌋

"Papa is.....Papa. That's all you need to know and accept. I know I have."

"LUNA! Can you understand him, even in that form?" Papa's face was suddenly really close to mine with big sparkling eyes.

"Yes, It's due to my Language Adaptation skill."

"That's amazing! So your skill even allows you learn the language of spirits! Tell Papa how you used it so that I can make sure no one ever tried to pull the wool over your precious eyes."

"Lan kissed me." Papa froze for second before asking me to repeat myself. "Lan said that I learn new languages through kissing the other person."

".......WHAT!!!!!"
