Chapter 16: The Eve

Xiang Lian Jun accompanied Li Bai in the bed at night. Staring at the small face, ensuring that the other is fast asleep, the man went out to the suite's living room where two squabbling figures sat.

"04, you bastard, you took away my chiffon cake!"

"Xiao Cheng, aren't you worried that I'll tell 02 your recent trysts and countless paramours?"

"Tell him, I'll tell Xiang Xiang to beat you to death."

Kai Feng snickered at Mu Cheng, "I'm 03's Laoshi*¹, he won't dare beat me."

Mu Cheng gave a satirical laugh, he won't back down to this Biantai bastard, "Don't forget that your beloved student beat you in the past that's why he is ranked higher than you."

The 'bad influence' teacher that Mu Cheng was talking about (ch.14) is exactly Kai Feng. It was about the start of the birth of the Biantai race when Xiang Lian Jun is the last one to awaken.

01 gave the task of looking after Xiang Lian Jun to Kai Feng when he was formerly 03. After a month of number rearrangement, Xiang Lian Jun's power became too strong that he surpassed Kai Feng and became the new 03.

Kai Feng wasn't angry at Xiang Lian Jun in fact, he is really fond of this adorable student of his, on the other hand, he is quiet sensitive at the downgrade of his rank.

If it is other people, he would stab them slowly and painfully, but since Mu Cheng is 02's lover, he can only let the bespectacled human off, "Tsk, scummy human weakling."

The other retorted, "Trashy, single dog*², loser Feng"

Xiang Lian Jun frowned, "Keep your voices down. Li Bai is sleeping."

The two quickly closed their mouth and sat down. Kai Feng didn't want to seat near Mu Cheng so he stood up and sat beside his former student.

Mu Cheng fixed his glasses and gestured at the pile of documents at the table, "The adoption papers are here, you just need to sign it."

"En."

"Eh, 03 are you really going to adopt Xiao Bai as your son?" Kai Feng interrupted, his face showing bemused expression.

Mu Cheng raised his brow at the Biantai seated beside Xiang Lian Jun, "Can't you just shut up? And also, why are you here? Isn't the patrol guards particularly strict now due to the recent wall breach?"

"Heh, those pesky humans ain't my match. The breach isn't even our fault since the security is weak to begin with."

Kai Feng leaned back and hugged Xiang Lian Jun's shoulders, "Besides, I'm always here beside my beloved student. Ain't I, 03?"

Xiang Lian Jun also known as '03', nodded and let the other hug him. Kai Feng has always been touchy, he had gotten used to it after spending a long time together.

When the other got close to him, he inadvertently smelled the familiar scent in Kai Feng's body.

Xiang Lian Jun frowned and clutched Kai Feng's arms tightly, "It's you. Your scent is in Li Bai's body."

Wincing, Kai Feng quickly retracted his arms before it could break, "Why are you so mad?"

The man didn't speak but his hands are clenched closed and his body turned rigid. Kai Feng noticed how the other restrained himself from doing something.

"You want to be Xiao Bai's father so I'm free to be his husband right?" Xiang Lian Jun's face continued to darken. Before a fight could break out, Mu Cheng snatched the papers back from the man's hands.

"Xiang Xiang, you are being impulsive. 04 is right, it's not like Bai Bai will remain as your son forever. It's not wrong for 04 to pursue the little one." Looks like the adoption papers will be discarded. Mu Cheng glanced at the confused man and sighed. It is true that Biantais don't have any emotions but it doesn't mean that they can't have it.

This is why every Biantai needs a 'companion' or the so called, 'Eve'. The Eve helps the unfeeling race gain emotions and guide them to be more humane. They don't necessarily came from human race, it could also be from the Biantai race or animals.

To find their companion, the Biantai will feel a pull or attraction once their eyes meet or skin touched with their pair. Attraction will happened only if they had a high compatibility with that person or animal.

"...I don't like it." Xiang Lian Jun muttered under his breath.

Mu Cheng found it weird that these two men who almost never disagree with each other, would be at each other's neck due to some person. He thought hard and an idea suddenly passed by his mind.

In some rare cases, two to three people have the same Eve. The Mother Tree created a rule that it is up to the Eve's decision whether they would choose one or choose all of them as their companion.

Basically, if Kai Feng and Xiang Lian Jun had the same Eve as Li Bai, they would have to make Li Bai choose. But Mu Cheng didn't know whether Li Bai knew about Xiang Lian Jun being a Biantai nor would Li Bai even accept his situation as an Eve.

Mu Cheng suddenly became enlightened, "Shitty Feng, could it be—"

Kai Feng snorted and dropped a bomb, "Yes, Xiao Bai is my Eve."

It isn't long when Xiang Lian Jun also dropped a bomb.

"He is also my Eve."

The two looked at each other in surprise while Mu Cheng massaged his forehead, 'Great. The two weirdos in Biantai race is Bai Bai's companion.'
