It has come to my attention that leaving the original chapters up and visible may mess up viewership. So should I take down the old chapters and only leave the rewrites available?

Mabe mass-repost the old chapters in a "legecy story" and keep updating the new ones here?

Yes leaving the originals as it is will create confusion and some people after reading the original might not want to start over again

You could leave a note in the first old-chapter to let people know. Or/and add an "old" prefix to all old chapters
I didn't see any problems with the old ones, but having them at the front will affect new readers, so mass posting into a legacy story will make it more reader-friendly.
