The journey from the academy to the capital was uneventful apart from a couple of tolls and villages where they could rest.

The closer they got to the capital the more lively the surrounding areas appeared. They spoke of a great hero that the country summoned from the heavens and that he had a loyal guardian angel protecting him at all times.

They felt that he was holy and would bring great fortune to the country.

After a week, they finally approached the grand gates to the capital. The walls were built as high as the clouds while the gate could fit 10 carriages driving side by side.

“Aren’t these walls quite redundant? I doubt someone could see anything from up there.” Azura asked as she stuck her head out of the carriage to look at the huge line of carriages trying to enter.

“Haha, of course not! Only the elite of elites could look down there, therefore only Magic Archers or some other mage profession that focuses on eyes or senses could be employed. Of course, the empire has no lack of these types of people.” Wilhelm answered carefreely.

By this point, they had already traveled together for a week and found that Azura didn’t care how he talked to her, whether it was formal, or casual, it didn’t matter to her. At first he still talked respectfully, but the more they interacted the less Wilhelm spoke formally. Of course, he still spoke with respect and caution.

“Wait a second.. Why is the Imperial Park in the academy’s city?” Azura raised an eyebrow as she suddenly thought of this.

“This.. I’m not quite sure, but the imperial family did visit that park a lot in their youth, so I guess they just named it that?” Wilhelm shrugged as he poured tea into 3 cups.

Seeing Wilhelm shrug, Azura also didn’t ask any questions and just sat there trying to absorb more magic energy.

After an hour, the carriage finally reached the gates and smoothly managed to enter.

“The Hero is talked about quite a lot.. Do you think we can see him?” Amelia asked excitedly as she looked outside.

“Most likely, look there, it seems that he will be giving a speech soon. We can leave after that, I want to see what this.. Hero.. Looks like.” Azura grinned as she thought of the planet she had visited before and the chaos she created.

Although the capital had near a million permanent residents, it also had hundreds of thousands of people entering every day to do trade or just visit so there were plenty of hotels to accommodate them.

Soon the carriage stopped at a 3 story hotel that had no lack of guards around the perimeter.

“This is a good hotel, it’s run by the imperial family, but I know the person who manages it, he’ll take good care of us.” Wilhelm smiled to the person approaching the carriage as he exited.

As he did this, Azura took out some bags from her space, after all, who would enter a hotel without any items?

Beforelong, the 2 were laughing and they were led inside. Artemis and the other horses were led to a stable, while they were led inside.

The hotel couldn’t be called small, but it also couldn’t be called big. It was quite limited in space due to the small land available to build on in the capital. It compensated with this in height.

Amelia and Azura were led away by a young man to what seemed to be an elevator. The elevator had just enough space to fit 5 people, as metal stuck out from the walls.

They were asked to put their bags into a small closet beside the elevator.

“Get ready, dear customers, this rising room will ascend to the third floor, if need be, hold onto the railings.” He smiled as he lowered his back and began slowly pushing up.

Amelia giggled silently as it looked like he was trying to pick up something incredibly heavy.

After a minute, he held his position as he spoke in a strained voice, “Dear guests, please exit and take your bags from the room.”

Nodding, Amelia quickly got out as she saw him struggling and quickly got the bags.

Seeing them, he also carefully got out as he slowly lowered his back again and the elevator descended.

When it reached the bottom, he let out a sigh of relief as he put on his best smile. Taking the bags from both of them, he led them to a room near the back. Reaching into his breast pocket, he took out a green card.

“This is to open your doors and windows, please don’t lose it otherwise you will need to pay extra.” He bowed as Azura took the card and left.

Beside their rooms door was a slot, and as Azura put the card in the slot, the door let out a ‘click’ as it unlocked.

“Ohh~ No doubt it is an imperial run hotel!” Amelia let out a sound as she looked inside.

Inside were 2 desks, a couple of armchairs and 2 king sized beds. All decorated lavishly, enough for even the emperor to stay inside.

Running to the window, Amelia pulled apart the beautifully woven red curtains to reveal a balcony looking out to the rest of the capital and even the palace, which was just a castle, could be seen on a small hill.

“This is the best room I’ve ever stayed in! Grandpa sure had it good whenever he came here.~” Amelia pouted as she took in the view.
