While Shen Lei and Luo Lin were having a couples’ moment in front of the unsuspecting eyes of Yun Bei Fen, Mei Chao Bing managed to find Taishu Min.

Since things were dangerous outside, she and the other disciples of the Zhen Yan Sect naturally wouldn’t leave alone. If anything, they would travel together with the disciples of the Teng Yong Sect or wait for more disciples of their own sect to arrive here and accompany them. Everything else would be too dangerous at the current time.

Instead, she had taken to following one of the patrol groups, that was guarding around the town, wanting to help in this way. Anyway, even though she might not be a disciple of the Teng Yong Sect, the four great sects of the righteous side had worked together since they had been founded. Why would she not help the disciples of a sect that was allied with her own? This just seemed like the natural thing for her to do.

When she saw Mei Chao Bing come over, she immediately straightened up and then went to greet him when she realized that he had indeed come for her. "Did something happen to martial brother Luo? Did his condition worsen?"

Mei Chao Bing shook his head. "Not quite. He seems to be doing well, as does senior martial brother Shen. It is just that something seems to have happened so I would like to ask you to come and have a look."

Taishu Min nodded slowly and then motioned at the group she had been following around. "I might just be an additional person but I should go and tell them that I will have to leave now. Give me a moment!"

Mei Chao Bing nodded and then stood to the side, waiting for her to finish before they returned to the courtyard together.

Taishu Min didn’t ask anything on the way and just waited until they reached their destination. Mei Chao Bing hurriedly went to knock on Elder Baili’s door, feeling that he would also want to know what was going on. When the Elder came rushing outside, he gave him the short explanation that he had given Taishu Min and then turned around to go and get Zhi Guan.

Yun Bei Fen’s first senior martial brother had already heard them arrive though and stepped out of his room by himself, walking up to them. He nodded at Mei Chao Bing, appreciative that he had wanted to come and tell him.

The four of them entered the room together, making Shen Lei faintly raise his brows. He hadn’t necessarily thought that they would have this much audience but then, everyone was worried about both him and Luo Lin so this was to be expected.

He nodded at them and then turned to Taishu Min, giving her a wry smile. "Martial sister Taishu, I’m sorry for bothering you again. I was just wondering if there’s a possibility that the blood of the red priest you gave me could have any further effect on me after some time has passed."

Taishu Min furrowed her brows, not knowing what he meant. "In what way?"

"For example, that the healing abilities that it has could be activated one more time after a day or so. I’m just asking because … my broken arm seems to have healed." He raised it and even motioned at it with his other hand, inviting her to take a look.

Taishu Min actually went forward and grabbed his arm, touching to see if the broken bone had really healed. When she pulled back, her expression was doubtful. "This shouldn’t be possible."

Shen Lei lowered his arm and sighed. "I had feared that you would say that."

Taishu Min furrowed her brows further, her gaze still trained on Shen Lei’s arm. "I’ve never heard of something like this. The red priest’s blood is special in the amount of power it has but it still isn’t unlike a potion. It can heal something at that very moment, and it can heal more than a regular potion would, but it can’t boost your healing ability for the time afterward.

"If that was possible …" She shook her head, not sure what to think. In any case, what she was seeing was plain as day. Even if it wasn’t supposed to be possible, it had clearly happened. "Well, maybe it has to do with the fact that you are of another sect."

Shen Lei raised his brows at her, not quite sure if he should believe that. "You said last night that the abilities the blood has come from the cultivation that the red priest did. So usually, shouldn’t it work best with the spiritual energy of a person from your sect and not that from a person of another sect?"

Taishu Min raised her gaze to his face and finally nodded. "From my understanding, yes. So I’m not sure how this is possible."

Shen Lei sighed and rubbed Luo Lin’s back, feeling that in this case, it seemed that what he had feared might indeed be the case. "Well, right before my arm healed, I kissed Luo Lin and there was some blood left on his lips from when he bit them when in pain last night. Could it be that some of those abilities were somehow transferred to him?"

Taishu Min froze, but then categorically shook her head. "No, completely impossible! I can’t explain how it might be that there would be an effect long after taking the red priest’s blood but that is still more logical than this.

"In any case, you took a whole vial. I have never seen somebody use that much. So maybe there is indeed a remnant of it still left in your body. That would be one explanation. I really doubt it could be your lover’s blood. Anyway, he hasn’t even cultivated our sect’s techniques. How would he be able to gain abilities that are derived from that? No, it doesn’t make any sense."

Shen Lei nodded, feeling that what she said had to be true. Yes, maybe it was because of the amount he had taken. That was a possibility. The timing might just be very, very strange.

Looking from one person to the other, Mei Chao Bing couldn’t help but clear his throat. "I’m sorry to interrupt but there’s a way to try that out, isn’t there? Senior martial brother Shen, your leg is still broken so we could see if senior martial brother Luo’s blood would have any effect on that.

"I doubt that there could ever be that much of a coincidence where you would come into contact with his blood twice and have an injury healed right after with that only being an aftereffect of the red priest blood, right?"
