Leaving the Military Court Hall, after telling all he knew and of course he didn't tell about what Annie and that thing Annie had said to him.

The next Morning pretty much holing inside his room, never leaving if it is not important. Vincent pretty much didn't talk to any of his friends or he avoided them. Now he knew all the key stories in the Titans and such, he pretty much lost the will in fighting normal Titans. No, he didn't think it was necessary anymore. 

He did this and no one suspected anything but only his friends. People think that Vincent is in trauma, of fighting Titans and so holed up in his room.

People will think of that and so leave him and have him recuperate his trauma.

Until the day they gathered to pick their Department they were to join in.

Night Time…

At the back of all Trainees present. Vincent looked to the front, up the stage, and saw the Commander of the Survey Corps, Erwin Smith who began to speak as he saw all the Trainees are all present. 

"I'm Erwin Smith, the Commander of the Survey Corps."

"Today, you all will decide where you will enlist. And to be blunt, I'm here to recruit soldiers for the Survey Corps..."

"I'm sure the latest Titan attack has made you fear the Titans and recognize the limits of your strength."

"However, through that battle, mankind has made unprecedented progress in its struggle… The key was Eren Jaeger."

"His willingness to risk his life for mankind signifies his unquestionable allegiance to us." Erwin looked around, at the faces of the Trainees, and continued speaking… 

"Furthermore, not only did he allow us to stop the Titans, but he also provided us a way to unveil the Titans' mystery!" Erwin turned serious and said…

"As you can tell, the Armored Titan was besieged by us at the time the wall was plunged with the boulder by Eren Jaeger. Unfortunately, they escape, but thanks to Vincent Glaze, we all know his and his companion's name." Erwin then stopped as he let everyone talk amongst themselves… 

"No way? Vincent knows them!"

"Are you serious?"

"How…"

..

He then coughed that put the stop off discussion and continued speaking…

"Back to the Titans' mystery. In the basement of Eren Jaeger's home, in Shiganshina District lies the secret of the Titans, unknown even to him."

"If we can just reach that basement, we might find a clue that will aid us in overthrowing the Titans' century-long rule!"

The Trainees below were shocked by that revelation and couldn't help but murmur. 

"We're that far ahead?"

"If we figure them out, we could win."

Erwin smith then continued speaking when he saw that the Trainees calm down. 

"We aim to reach that basement in Shiganshina District. But to that end, the recapture of Wall Maria is crucial."

"In other words, our goal hasn't changed…"

Two people from the Survey Corps step in, and show a piece of the kingdom's map that shows where they will travel. Erwin began to tell them.

"But now that Trost District's gate is unusable we'll have to go around from Karanes District in the east."

"The Military route we spent four years to prepare has been rendered useless."

"During those four years, we lost more than sixty percent of our men."

"Sixty percent in four years… It's an absurd figure."

Vincent looked to the left of the stage, when could he see the rest of the Survey Corps, and saw the sadness in their eyes. Vincent sighed and thought…

'Erwin Smith… if you can show me some results in this expedition of yours. I don't mind giving you some information, and if you didn't and failed… That means that you're not qualified'.

Vincent stops thinking and listens to the rest of what Erwin has to say.

"Those of you who join us will participate in an expedition a month from now, in which the predicted mortality rate is thirty percent."

"Most of you will likely die in four years. However, if you manage to survive, you'll be an Elite soldier who can overcome all odds."

Everyone was silent by the high mortality rate and couldn't help but tremble in fear. Erwin naturally saw this but continued speaking...

"If you are still willing to endanger your lives with us, remain here..."

"Please, ask yourselves. Are you capable of Shinzou wo Sasageyo suru koto ga dekiru no ka ?! (offering your lives for mankind?!)"

Some couldn't help but take a step back at Erwin's last shout, as Erwin continued. 

"That's all. Those of you who wish to enlist elsewhere may leave."

Erwin stops speaking as he looks down at everyone... One by one, the Trainees below began to leave.

Vincent looked at Erwin, the Commander of the Survey Corps, and couldn't help but comment. 

"Such a strong and persuasive leader, but sadly…" Vincent began to turn and walk back along with the rest of the Trainees who didn't want to join the Survey Corps "That didn't make my resolve go…"

Vincent stops and looks back at the people who decided to stay. He can see their back, he wanted to join them but that will not solve the real problem. 

"Good Luck. Everyone…"

With another step, Vincent continued, never stopping as he walked firmly towards where the Military Police Brigade were at…

"Sir!"

Vincent said that and saluted towards the Person in front of him. He wore a Military Police Uniform and Vincent remembered him as the Commander of Military Police… His name is Nile Dawk.

"Hmm. You're Vincent Glaze, Number 1 in Trainees, right?"

"Yes, sir! I'm Vincent Glaze."

Nile Dawk nodded as he looked at the paper in front of him. The longer he read the information about Vincent, the more amazed he was. 

'He killed Titans numerous times? Didn't know the exact numbers, but it estimated that Vincent Glaze at least kills… What! 20 Titans!'

Nile, the Commander of Military Police looked towards the youth in front of him and couldn't help but broke into a smile. 

"Vincent Glaze, The Military Police welcomes you. I hope you fulfill your duty as a Soldier who is responsible for protecting the King and the Order of Civilians!"

"Yes, sir!"

… .

Back at Erwin…

"We don't want to die."

Erwin Smith closed his eyes and smiled as he said.

"I see. I like your expressions."

"Now then, I accept all of you that remain as new Survey Corps soldiers!"

"This will be the True Salute!"

With a salute, Erwin said… 

"Shinzou wo Sasageyo!"

"Sir!" 

Everyone responded, looking and terrified at their future in the Survey Corps.

For the rest of the months…

The rest of the Survey Corps teach the new ones the strategy and route towards the Shiganshina District. 

As the Expedition starts, they get intercepted by the Armored Titans, and get into a fight, losing almost 40 percent of the Survey Corps. 

That all happened, as a Youth in the Military Police began doing his plans.
