I place the Flamebringer on the table.
"So, this is the now repaired Flamebringer, I assume...?"
"Yes, lady Lucia. But, please keep in mind this is still in its early stages as a magic sword."
"Hmm, so it is not useable yet.?"
"No, you already can use it. But, it won't be as strong.
Ah, please let me demonstrate."
I take the Flamebringer and pour my magic into the sword.
Just like before, the sword glows blueish light.
"As you can see, the magic could flow just fine. But it is still raw magical energy. This is already stronger than a regular sword, but it won't be as strong as a magic sword."
"Ah, I see."
Said lady Lucia. She seems to not that knowledgeable about magic swords despite her using one.
Now, how should I explain to her about the magic circuit on the sword?
"This is what I want to consult with you. As you can see, the Flamebringer that your grandfather create is created with the old ways to create a magic sword. The flow of magic from the magic circuit, even though is really good, can still be optimized with the modern day's blacksmithing technique. And so I do that.
As you can see the flow is different from the previous flow."
I hand lady Lucia the Flamebringer.
"Please, try to activate the magic."
"Okay, just like how I normally do it right?"
"Yes."
After activating the sword lady Lucia opens her eyes widely.
"This feeling.....So, this is what you mean by optimizing the magic circuit !?"
She said that excitedly
"Yeah, but this can also become a problem by itself...."
"A problem?"
"Yes, it is about your grandfather. If this is his pride sword I think that we should not change it as much and just repair it as close as it is before."
"..."
"But, it is your choice to decide. Lady Lucia, how do you want me to recreate this sword, if you say to revert as it was before, this is still early in the stage of reinforcement that it still could be easily done.
So, how is it? How do you want it to be done?"
Silence...
Lady Lucia seems to be thinking for a moment. Then,
"Continue it as it is with your improvement."
Her voice is clear, without doubt, nor hesitation.
"As you wish."
And that ends our discussion about the swords.
------------
"Say, Ray....."
"Yes...?"
"You aren't a person from this continent, are you ?"
"Ah, yes. I am adopted. My father found me when I was still a little child."
"Hmmm, I see."
Lady Lucia seems only ask this topic on a whim but she stops asking about this matter, probably being considerate of me. Well, nothing I could tell her anyway. My appearance already said everything about my origin.
"Why, do you ask ?"
"Hm? Ah, it's nothing. I just think that your black hair is the same as Lin's."
"Your, attendant?
Speaking of which she's not with you today, isn't she?"
"Lin did not work under me. She works under my Grandfather and grandmother.
As for now, my grandmother needs her so she can not be here with me."
This is casual conversation continues for a few hours before we decided to stop.
Lady Lucia back to her home and I back to my workshop.
For a noble, she's really casual with a commoner like me. Probably because of her job as a knight.
Well, with her confirmation I could now continue my work on the sword.
At first, I thought this would be a bothersome job. But, surprisingly I enjoyed it more than I initially thought it would be.
This is probably also my opportunity to make a connection with a noble. That would be nice.
Aside from that maid with scary aura, I only see good things come from this work relationship.
Yeah, let's just think about the bright side.

Thanks for the chapter.
Just read from the start until here, the last few chapters hasn't been bad (the restoration ones and this one), but the stuff before that could use an editor. Lots of random grammar, capitalization issues, weirdly worded stuff and such, especially the first several chapters.
On the whole, the story is somewhat interesting, and he is actually living up to being a crafter.
