As Mason received his mission completion notification along with absolutely no reward, Jack was rejoicing at the incredible exp gain. In a single monster, Jack had earned the exp required to pay off the debt of 10 CP, equivalent to one of the skills bought on credit. And that is exactly what he did.
On the other hand, Mason began to use his spar knife to cut the beast. It was currently late at night, and trying to find his way back to the town at this time was more dangerous then fighting the wolf. The wolf, according to the system, was merely level 3. Based on this assumption, Mason had already distributed different species to different levels, and there were creatures with levels in the double digits lurking within the woods.
Therefore, he decided to get some materials from the carcass before returning to the crack in the cliff and spending the night there.
After a gruesome flurry of stabbings and slicing, Mason recovered all the useful bones, fangs, useful meat, eye balls, as well as the heart.
He did not know why any of these items were useful, but the system specifically pointed them out and so he decided to follow its guidance.
There may be no one left to take care of him in this world, but there was one thing he could trust in with his life, and that was the system. At least for now, it was one of the few things that actually helped him, not to mention saving his life.
With the spoils of victory, Mason returned back to his cave for a night of rest.
In a place far, far away from Mason’s location, a bloody war was still ongoing.
It had been nearly an hour since the system gave Alice a new shot at life. She had already completely healed from the grievous wound in her abdomen. Unlike Mason’s case, her wound could be healed through [Basic Healing Lv 2].
Over the course of the following 40 minutes, Alice moved slowly through the slide-lines of the battlefield. Although the system had given her the level 0, it had given everyone else levels, be it friends or enemies. According to the system, this was to display their combat power.
Most of the soldiers were between level 0 and 2, while she had not seen enough of the battlefield to see the levels of stronger individuals.
However, that did not matter. When she had enlisted to the army, she had made a pledge. A vow to never back down from the war until she had killed 10 people. Naturally, in the army, barely anyone paid heed to that saying.
However, she believed in it, and the system, as though it was reciprocating that emotion, gave her a mission.
===============
Survival Quest
Kill at least 10 soldiers from the Roland Kingdom to protect your homeland of the Leon kingdom, and collect their badges.
Current Progress: 0/10
Reward: Exp rewards will be taken by the system due to loan penalty
Failure: Death by enemy hands/ Dishonourably discharged from the army upon return.
Time limit: 2 hours 42 minutes 31 seconds
===============
The time limit for this was much lower since the war would be ending very soon. This war had already dragged on for nearly 2 continuous days, and all the soldiers were nearing the ends of their stamina.
However, these conditions were perfect for Alice. She did not carry her sword, and instead was using [Basic Judo Lv 3] to efficiently disable her exhausted opponents and finish them off with a small knife she was carrying.
She moved slowly, and creeped up close to her targets like a predator getting ready to hunt her prey, before launching her flurry of attacks to finish them off swiftly before jumping back onto the piled of corpses around her, disappearing from view.
Time passed, and after another hour, she had ling completed her mission, and was just killing to vent her anger.
Her kills piled up slowly, and began to reach the forties. She had collected so many enemy badges that they made a rattling sound everywhere she went.
A rumour began spreading through the friendly and enemy soldiers. It was the rumour of a certain ghost soldier. One that came and went with the wind, the only evidence of their existence was a dead body with its badge gone, and a faint rattling sound of badges. It was the rumour of ‘Rattling Death’.
With just [Basic Judo Lv 3] and [Basic Healing Lv 2] every now and then to recover stamina and any lost vitality, Alice had killed off early 50 Rolandians.
When the bugle for retreat was sounded, and the Rolandians began to turn their backs from the battlefield, Alice stood up from her hiding position, completely out of breath and exhausted beyond belief.
However, looking at her status, she grinned.
Jack, who was looking down at the entire scene from some unknown location, was also stunned. Alice alone had given him enough exp to, when converted to CP, cover for all his debts, and left him with some extra.
Naturally, he did not do that. Instead, he used only the amount used to buy her own skills, and returned the extra back to her, levelling her up instantly to Level 2.
Alice looked at the message which had popped up.

thx for the chap
Give some more detail for the stat she lvl up, like that for exemple : 2 -> 3 or something.
I tried doing that. I honestly tried, because someone told me to the exact same thing. In fact, it was the exact same comment on the other website. Like dot to dot, exactly the same.
And I tried doing it, but it became a huge mess, because I would have to show the changes in the max stats, level, skill level, etc, which makes the entire stat screen a huuuuge mess. Trust me. I know many others do it, but whenever I have tried, it turns to shit.
Instead, Casual readers just need to pay attention to the levels, while those who wish to know everything can go a few chapters back and play 'Spot the difference' all they wish. Sorry I can't do it. I hope you likes the novel tho, other than the stats part.
@ShadowMagus you post on royal road too?
@Takehiko
Yes. I did. Only 4 chapters tho. Nobody read it. It has like 308 views for 4 chapters.
I originally posted on webnovel. I it at like 29 chapters there, with like 129,000 views.
I will try to get this up to that as soon as possible, then 1 update per day, on par with Webnovel
@ShadowMagus oki thx for the information :)
@ShadowMagus You need a lot more chapters if you want readers on Royalroad. Grammar is also a big factor.
I recommend putting your chapters through Microsoft Word or Grammarly. There's no big mistakes, but the little ones still disrupt the reading experience. On Royalroad, that usually means the author isn't going to be updating regularly or gain traction.
@Kagetokage I write on word...
And this still happens lol
@ShadowMagus Hmm...
@ShadowMagus tbh your webnovel is better than other new novels that info dump. It is pretty common in webnovel newbie authors.
@ShadowMagus then just say "she allocated her points to strength and vitality" or something like that
