For Alice, the day was turning into night as she went towards the lieutenant’s tent. In a place far, far away, the night was just turning into day.
Mason had completely healed his wound, and was now left with a stub on his left leg up till his knee. Everything below the knee was empty. He had also cooked all the meat and made some necessary tools using the trees. He had made a fur coat to replace the one he had lost while running away from the wolf.
With his knife from earlier, and improv crutches for his left hand to take the load his left leg would have taken. This was made out of wood he had collected from nearby tree branched, binding them together to form a stronger stick.
He had also made a backpack to carry the wolf’s other part in, hoping it would bring him some money.
Along the way, the came across the tree he had felled earlier. There, he found that the creature that had been the starting point of everything had died, and was already half-covered in snow.
Although it was due to the cub’s death that he lost his leg, he still felt sorry for the wolf. Not only did he kill it, but he also killed his mother. Clearly, the father was nowhere close by, or else the mother would have been howling for help instead of stalking him.
Suddenly, he heard soft sounds, as though something was struggling in the snow.
After a few moments of hesitation, Mason decided it would be better to investigate, since it was still pretty early in the morning, and not many large and dangerous animals come out at this time.
Turning right, Mason stumbled his way through the snow and discovered another cub. This one was much smaller than the one who had died, and was lucky enough that not a single tree branch hit him due to his small size. It was about the size of his palm, and by the looks of it, it had been birthed not too long ago.
However, its small size also passed a problem.
The tree branches did not kill it, but trapped it within a sort of wooden cage of branches.
Looking at the poor little fellow, Mason was saddened. Technically, it was his own fault that the first cub was killed, and that the mother attacked him. According to how things flowed, he should have died, the mother should have feasted on his remains, and then returned to save the little cub from its freezing prison.
However, he had received ‘The Survivor’s System’ and had been able to turn the tides and kill the mother wolf, leaving this little cub to a twisted fate.
Mason felt both wronged and guilty at this moment.
During this mix of emotions, Jack decided to help him out a little. Jack was naturally a rather kind person, and did not want a cub to freeze to death. Furthermore, Jack was a dog person and could not allow such a ball of cuteness to come to any harm! Puppies forever!!!!

Mason was slightly shocked. Did the system display this much emotion before?
But that didn’t matter. He would be getting a new skill after the loan period was over, and there would be nothing better than that.
Mason had already learned the power of skills. He had already killed off a level 3 wolf with just the power of a single level 3 skill. Naturally, Level 3 wolf was a lot stronger than level 3 humans, since wolves are faster and stronger than humans of the same level. However, they were mere beasts, and did not have intelligence equal to a human and were hence easier to kill if you had a powerful skill to one-shot it, like Mason’s [Basic Wind Bullet Lv 3].
Following the quest’s instructions, Mason swiftly rescued the animal, which for some reason did not rebel against Mason.
‘Must be the fur of its mother.’ Mason thought to himself as he stuffed the curled-up ball of fluff inside one of his pockets inside the fur coat, before continuing his trek back to the town.
On the other side of the world, Alice had arrived outside the lieutenant’s tent and was waiting to enter.
Death of the cute little innocent puppy dog
Not biased
Def not
"You don't have to save it. You monster."
YES I love this system even more now!
Math, science, history
I feel the reactions to the system being there is a little OC for the described characters. If both of them were reincarnators from Earth, I would get why it. But currently they have what amounts to divine intervention that has never been seen before in this world and they react like trope savvy players would. Why are they not thanking the Gods for this gift or thinking if this could be work of a demon? No reaction the the magic either (is it common in the land?). Why wouldn't divine message have emotions? What are all the stats for? What the heck is Judo (she knows how to execute the skill, but does the name make sense to them)? Their reactions, besides minimal gratitude, feel stunted.
I like it! But how can the system award this skill? When did he buy it? How did he buy it? I was under the impression he could only purchase skills that others already had. Which Ais clearly wrong, so eh?
I believe that he bought the taming skill with some cp and didn't pay off the whole debt, the debt skills are there to be paid for any time so he just bought the skill while keeping that debt.
I hope my explaintaion is not too vague and it can help you.
Another person that wasn't to bend people to their will.
Thank you for the chapter.<3
