I wanted to get a few story ideas some feedback. Thanks for anyone posting or replying.
Do people get tired of stories with magic? And how do I avoid this?
Do people see monster tamer harems as more fun and ideal than mage classes in dungeon stories now? (I still am not tired of Isekai stories right now. I want to do a lot of these, but not necessarily with only mages or monster tamers. I hope readers can understand this. I think Isekai has a lot of potential. But the other ideas and the plot could be radically different depending on other variables.)
I also wanted to probe if anyone has ever tried doing a harem cult story? It seems kind of humorous to try this. For example, there was an interesting story called Wayward Pines on netflix awhile back. I saw the plot and I was like wow that would be really freaking cool to do a series similar to that, but like a harem cult series instead. In that particular tv series I think they dropped the ball by killing the season 1 main character, and then having the colony leader and main character at odds and I think it wrecked the direction that it could have gone with the story.
Anyway this seems like a cool idea for a harem cult story. And I'd like to get reader feedback on this.
Thank you.
Sure, though I would like them to focus more on not attracting attention due to their unnaturally high perversion.
a detail that tends to go for @naosu 's writing style, is that his harems tend to be in non-harem-standard worlds(as we of earth should understand) which action/story causes a lack of 'privacy'. so harems tend to stick out intentionally or not, being many mens dreams and even more so, things that other's want to have a piece of for various reasons.
"Do people get tired of stories with magic?", Counts tabs... I've got 16 tabs open right now... each of them a different magic/cultivation story... (7 of them 18+) two of them yours! I've seen enough comments of people auto-adding magic/system stories to their reading lists just because they have x-tags realize that if you're somebody who likes the magic-harem category it doesn't get old easy, and tend to read many of them... Monster-type harem simply became a different fetish which has more variety-potential than most.
on the rare occasion I've found a story which was so "in your face" "this is happening" "because MC is a god/MC" with no reason or fluency that I've been forced to drop it not because of overload of action/s*x scenes but because they're tied together in such a horrid copy-paste method scenes probably were ripped off from different books and slammed together insulting the concept of an author to create a "story".
Harem's technically become cult automatically (especially if there's magic involved), because the lovers tend to ignore obvious demerits/dangers to a situation and stick with the protagonist for X-reason (just like a cult) 'usually' MC has plot-armor of varying scales and tends to become strong/wealthy enough that the harem can be kept and/or becomes self-sufficient. In any situation which said MC hits an dead end and cannot become stronger/overcome that situation it would be cult VS. loyalty argument for the lovers to stand by MC if they have the ability to escape/overcome on their own. The difference mainly being how lovers/MC are treated/see themselves individually and how they're "viewed" by others/society. for example, those jealous side-characters you have pair up with the MC they can either see said harem as a wonderful set of lovers and a bad-ass MC, OR, a cult worshiping an individual for reasons they don't understand "why don't i have a harem, MC must be cheating life somehow!".
You've currently got a set of story-lines going (Enchanter in a zombie apocalypse, elf collector, the witch hunter, so you've decided to become a necromancer, and of course kidnapped to another world) which have great setups, which causes me indecision on such a Horrifying/Wonderful idea of another story, or begging for more of a story that is already started.
how about mage incubus that fell into a modern non fantasy world while being the only mage starting his own cult/harem a few years before Zombie apocalypse/ system apocalypse or maybe alien invasion
