Amara sat cross legged on the ledge of the observation deck.

Looks like the leaders for three of the races have gathered to discuss the armistice.

Listening to the prayers, Amara had gotten some information about events happening on Teyrin. A lot of the contents simply passed her by, as the constant stream of information was too much to take in and digest. However some prayers stood out, as the prayers contained not only the thoughts, but emotions as well.

When the emotions and thoughts were particularly strong in a prayer, it would draw her attention, like an insect that just flew into her peripheral vision during summer.

And some of them had desperately pleaded to her for guidance. When the sudden stream of several desperate prayers at once came to her calling for her attention, it didn’t go by unnoticed.

After listening to the prayers and following them back to their sources with Farsight, Amara noticed that a small hoard of priests had gathered to pray to her at the same time.

The wyverns aren’t at the meeting. Nobody even mentions them. Maybe they don’t know that they are intelligent? They might think the wyverns are merely above-average intelligent beasts, incapable of conversation.

I know they want answers but I can’t just choose a mouthpiece on a whim. Especially if it turns out to be lethal. ‘Oh, goddess please answer us-’, [Splat!], ‘Oh no! The goddess is angry!’. That’d be one way to create a misunderstanding.

Amara sighed. Besides, they already know the gist of it from the revelation Tom gave them. Their souls are in jeopardy, and me and Ryc’zamul are going to duke it out in a thousand years. Everything else is just information about who I am, why the armistice was agreed upon and other stuff. I mean yes, they are important questions, but not crucial.

Amara had focused on practising the Flame spell, both as a way to increase her mana pool and to level up Mana Manipulation. Every time she had to draw a mana circle from scratch, which took a lot of time - an impractical amount of time for use in combat.

She did get a couple points of willpower from the excercise though, along with two levels.

Guess getting a magician class is going to be the only option.

Most spells had such a high cost in comparison that Amara didn’t even bother looking for other spells to learn and practise with.

I guess I should actually start getting some combat experience too.

Amara shuddered. She had followed the flow of divine power when she had a telepathic conversation with Ezme to take a peek at where she was and what she was doing.

Ezme had been in a brutal battlefield, with the ground littered with mangled corpses. And Amara saw new ones join their numbers in real time.

Amara felt bile rise up in her throat as she recalled the scene. She had thrown up in the middle of the telepathic conversation with Ezme, although there was not really anything in her stomach to throw up.

Ezme had jabbed at Amara and asked if she had made a mistake when making coffee, but Amara simply chose to deflect the conversation.

I can’t put off learning how to kill forever. I suppose I can only hope that those who say it gets easier are right. Although if it does get easier, it would likely make me as much of a monster as the demons. I just hope I don’t come to the point where I enjoy it.

Ezme didn’t seem fazed by killing anyway. Maybe because it’s the only thing angels do?

Whatever. Let's start with getting some weapons.

Amara sighed, stood up and headed out to her chambers to go to Morpheus’s workshop. Learning from the last time, she memorized how to find it.

Upon entering, Morpheus cheerfully came out of one of the alcoves. “Ah...champion! Good to see you again!”

Amara narrowed her eyes and looked at the angel who was the reason she had become a sacrificial pawn. That he was acting like he played no part in it pissed her off.

Amara snorted. “The least you could do is remember the name of the person whose life you ruined.”

Morpheus flinched and inclined his head with a sad look on his face. “I...yes, you’re right. I’m trying.”

“Doesn’t seem like it.” Amara proceeded and began looking through the different weapon racks. Everything was more or less the same the last time she had been here.

I still have no idea what weapon I’ll be using. I guess it will depend on what kind of enchantments I’ll be able to do and if they are applicable to modern weapons. If I can, I’ll probably use modern enchanted weapons as primary and have just a melee weapon as a sidearm.

In that case it would be best to have a small weapon, but if I can get the inventory skill Ezme has then it wouldn’t matter as much. I could have all the weapons I want.

Amara eventually stopped and picked up a halberd and a sword. After claiming the two, Amara headed towards the door but stopped when she heard Morpheus’s downcast voice from the side.

“Ah...Amara was it?” (Morpheus)

Amara stopped and looked at Morpheus. “Yes?”

Looking into her eyes, Morpheus eventually spoke. “I’m sorry.”

Amara narrowed her eyes. With the anger welling up in her she wanted to snap at him, but couldn’t think of anything appropriate to say. Instead she snorted as if she didn’t believe him and promptly left without saying anything.

As Amara walked back to her own chambers, she considered. Maybe I’m being petty, but it’s not like he doesn’t deserve it. Just giving him the cold shoulder should even be considered a meager response.

Maybe what I'm most angry about is that he pretended that the fact I became the champion had nothing to do with him.

After returning to her chambers, she put the weapons in an empty room.

Now for modern weapons.

Amara went to get her laptop, and hooked herself up to the internet with Realm Gate. After browsing for a while she found the locations of a few military bases.

Using Farsight she got a look inside, and began her second round of snatching for the day. While looking for weapons she found some military uniforms, and decided to nab a few of them too.

Military uniforms are lit. Maybe I should get a white or black navy uniform for when I make my appearance on Teyrin in a thousand years?

Amara grinned at the thought before she turned to look at what her haul was.

She had gotten a couple well known assault rifles and handguns from Earth, along with plenty of ammunition.

That will do for now.

Lastly, Amara looked to Ramay and looked through the treasuries. She snatched every weapon she found, as she had no idea if they were enchanted simply by looking at them.

However, she noticed that several of them had been created by Morpheus, and were worse than what she had picked from his workshop, so she chose to throw them back into the treasuries.

She further sorted out the weapons from Ramay by what she could use at the moment and what she could consider using in the future.

Amara appraised the two weapons she got from Morpheus workshop and the four weapons she chose she was most likely to use from the treasuries to begin comparing.

Looks like this really is top of the line stuff that mortals can create on Ramay. After all, these were all made by the same guy even though some came from different treasuries.

Though I think the weapons that Morpheus made might be better. I suppose they might be so well forged they don’t actually break like mortal weapons would? I should study them in more detail when I start making my own weapons.

With my current divine power, I can’t use Holy Fire. Yet anyway. And I can only keep up Blade and Shaft Extension for a few seconds.

The mortal weapons can hold mana though. But even then, the sword and spear can only keep up Flaming Edge for around 10 seconds. Maybe they can drain my mana as well though to increase the duration. If that’s the case, I just have to get my mana pool bigger and I’m set.

I guess I have a lot of testing to do.
