I was looking at the pieces of the broken paper scattered all over the carpet between us and Leon.

“Sandra, you cannot simply hand over registration forms without my permission.” Leon spoke with the same expression of disdain while looking at me.

I still couldn’t get over my shock… Why would he do that?

“Umm… Boss, isn’t that how we usually get new adventurers? I don’t remember requiring the approval of the Guild Master to register at Guild…” Alan spoke with a serious expression. His playful and easy-going attitude was nowhere to be seen…

“There’s no rule against…-” Sandra was about to join in but she was interrupted.

“My word is the law in this county in regards to Guild Matters. If I say you must ask my permission for something, you WILL have to ask for permission whether you like it or not.” Leon said as if he was sneering at the pair of twins.

“Oi! What are you even talking about? I know for a fact that any respectable Guild Master would not deny the entrance of such a large group!” Suika was the first one of our group to react. Her face was filled with indignation.

“I’m not talking to you, ratkin. Know your place!” Leon said with contempt.

“You little…!” Suika’s expression was filled with rage. She was about to raise her hand and use magic, but Electra suddenly stopped her.

My sisters and mother were on alert now… Their hands were already on top of their daggers.

Leon simply ignored all of them, then adjusted his glasses and turned towards Elise.

“Elise Crelet... I received a report from the previous Guild Master that you were sent to fulfill a compulsory request at the newly established town of Norvek, is that correct?” Leon asked with an unchanging expression. No… His expression had softened a bit.

Elise was still too confused to answer...

“You got in trouble because you got into a fight at one of the bars affiliated with our guild, right? It must have been a mistake. I heard only praise from other people about you... So, when you called the previous Guild Master a few days ago, you reported that the other two who were sent with you had perished… What a tragedy... It must have been tough on you…” Leon was about to place his hand on Elise’s shoulder. The guy was now smiling as if he was trying to comfort Elise.

That single action made me snap out of my shock and made me see red… I unconsciously knew what the guy wanted from Elise.

“Oi, you sonuvabitch! Keep those hands to yourself. She’s married!” I showed him my claws to prove that I meant business.

This made everyone in the room look at me with confusion. Elise had a weird mix of both happiness and shock on her face.

“Hmm? Are you threatening me? A Guild Master and an aristocrat? As expected of a lowly creature of your kind… The very existence of your race disgusts me.” He looked at me as if he was looking at trash.

Alright, someone’s losing their dick privilege right now…

“I’m not threatening you, I will fucking skin you alive if you don’t take some distance from my wife right fucking now!” I shouted at Leon.

“What a distasteful being... Using such foul language in my presence… Your kind should be exterminated. Also, aren’t you a little bit delusional, there’s no way that a pure human like Ms. Crelet over here would marry an abomination such as yourself.” He said with amusement. His hand was still hovering Elise’s shoulder.

Alright, someone’s losing an arm and their dick today…

I started walking towards him with my claws prepared… No one tried to stop me. I could hear my sisters and mother muttering and cheering on me.

“Oh? Are you actually going to try and harm me? I wouldn’t do that if I were you, monster. You will have every single adventurer, mercenary and bounty hunter of this Kingdom hunting you down.” He said with a mocking smile.

He then smiled and adjusted his glasses.

“And besides, if you are actually married to Ms.Crelet as you say you are, do you really think that hurting her employer and the person who has control over her job and promotions is wise?” He had a shiteating grin on his face…

When he said that, the realization hit me… He was right about that part… I was forced to stop walking because of his words…

“Hmm… It seems you still have some degree of intelligence. That’s good to know. Well, even if you did attack me, I have several witnesses here that would have testified against you. That alone would have guaranteed your execution.” He said with a look of disdain.

I want to tear apart his face with my claws…

“What witnesses are you referring to?” Electra asked with a warm smile.

“Alan, Sandra and you, my ladies. There’s no way a group of such elegant and intelligent women would approve of the actions of this little barbarian freak.” He said while looking at the goddesses. He was smiling warmly, as if he was trying to win their favor.

The three goddesses looked at the guy as if he was stupid.

This guy really wants me to kill him, right...? I swear that when I’m done with him, there will be nothing that could be used to recognize him...

Junko immediately took a step forward with a cold expression. Her powerful icy glare was completely focused on Leon.

“We are all married to that GENTLEMAN over there. In the name of all the gods, I will never allow such vile insults be directed at my husband.” Junko seemed to be about to start growling.

“The gods you say? Pfft! Open your eyes, those things are mere fairy tales used to make children behave. I pity you, wasting your life to serve those non existent beings. How sad.” He looked at Junko as if she was an idiot.

Junko was completely flabbergasted that anyone would even say that. Her whole body was pale as if she had seen a ghost. Even her tail was completely stiff...

The trio of goddesses, on the other hand, were talking amongst themselves.

“Alright, how long do you think he will last in Hell? Make your bets! I say four minutes.” Arrat said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

“I say two minutes.” Electra nodded to herself. She had a sinister smile that reminded me of the day I met her.

“I don’t think the guy will even handle the trip there. He will be broken as soon as he arrives there.” Astera declared. She had a mischievous expression on her face...

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I want to join your bet.” Silvia said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, just like Arrat.

“I can send him to hell, if you want... I just need to give him a quick bite.” Tomoko opened her mouth only to reveal her fangs.

I can now only wonder what Hell looks like now… Not that I want to go there and see for myself...

Anyway, for some reason, I could no longer feel angry at the guy…

Why? Well, I have a very simple reason… Despite all of his elegant way of speaking and that better-than-you sucky attitude, this guy is a fucking idiot.

Now… I know I ain’t the sharpest tool in the tool box, but this guy is a moron… Why would he even ask the people that he just rejected to be accepted into the guild to act as witnesses for him?

Is it because he’s racist and hates goblins that he will ask any other person to confirm that he is in the right? Well, not that he was treating the other beastkins in the room any better… 

Or perhaps is it because he’s missing a chunk of his brain?

Well, even if the latter isn’t true, I can make it happen…

But before I could even attack the guy...

“Take this, you fucking bastard!” Elise shouted.

“Guaah…” Leon grunted…

Elise had punched Leon’s face. He was sent flying and landed a few meters away. Shards of glasses and a few drops of blood were now covering the luxurious carpet…

 “Fucking asshole. Just who do you think you are?” Elise said with an expression filled with righteous indignation.

“Gugh… That’s it, you whore…! I’m gonna make sure to send you to the most dangerous compulsory request we have! I will never allow you to take any common quests or be promoted any further! You really messed up n…- Guaaah!” Leon was interrupted by a sudden kick to the face…

Elise had kicked him really hard… His nose was bleeding.

“You can consider that kick as my letter of resignation. I quit!” Elise said with disgust.

“You bitch...- Guaaah!” Leon glared at Elise, but his glare was met with a kick to the stomach.

“Just shut up already! I swear that I will kick your dick with all my strength if you keep talking, you cretin.” Elise was really pissed off.

I fucking love this woman…

“Punish that heretic son of a bitch!” Junko, the dogkin nun shouted with all her might.

“Mi, can I use my club on him?” Ya asked with a cheerful expression.

“Go ahead.” Mi nodded to Ya.

“A dagger would be better…” Wa said while holding her dagger. There was a strange sparkle in her eyes.

“I agree… I wanna tear off his eyes with my claws…” Fa was smiling warmly.

The threats of Elise and a few of my sisters, and my mother made Leon tremble in fear… He had just realized that he was actually in danger.

Leon was now sweating profusely… He was pleading to Alan and Sandra with his eyes to get help, but the twins didn’t seem willing to help him.

“Alan, Sandra, I’m sorry but it seems you won’t have any commission this time… Can you guys give me my pay for the compulsory request? We will be on our way home after that.” Elise said to the twins with a bitter smile.

“...” Sandra had a somewhat lonely expression… She simply stood up and walked towards the door.

“To think that Alpine Tempest would actually be disbanded… This is a sad day for our guild and for Alorari…” Alan said with a regretful expression.

Wait a minute… Isn’t that the name of Elise’s party?

I then noticed that Elise was completely pale…

“Alan… What did you just say?” Elise asked the rabbitkin.

“Huh? Didn’t Laura tell you about it? Your party members came with Laura two days ago and quit being adventurers… As for the reason…” Alan looked at the injured Leon who was lying on the ground.

Elise simply shook her head.

(Oh… That’s… Do you want me to trample on him?) Sae asked Elise with a concerned tone.

Elise shook her head again. She was in shock again…

“Yikes… I’m sorry that you had to know about this through me… Well, to be fair, only a few people knew about it. Laura, Sandra, your party members of course, our boss…” He looked at his boss and sighed heavily… “And yours truly…” He said with a tired expression.

Elise simply nodded in response.

Leon seemed to want to say something, but a single glare of me and my sisters made him stay quiet.

What a fucking idiot.

At that moment, Sandra returned with two bags filled to the brim with coins. Her eyes looked a bit red.

Sandra walked towards Elise and handed over the bags.

“I’m sorry… The guild only has this much right now. We can only pay you 400 Yutz…” Sandra said with an expression filled with indignation.

Huh? Weren’t they going to pay Elise 800 Yutz for completing the compulsory request?

“Okay…” Elise replied without really looking at Sandra.

“I’m sorry…” Sandra apologized while bowing and then walked out of the room.

“What a sad day…” Alan said with a tone filled with sadness. He also walked out of the room.

Elise was looking at the empty space with confusion...

I simply approached Elise and held her hand.

“Let’s go.” I said to her with concern.

“Yes… I need to talk to them personally…” Elise replied with a calm expression.

Elise was silent for a few seconds… Then…

“Guaaah…!” Leon was kicked by Elise once again… This time, he lost consciousness.

With a final glare at him, Elise started walking towards the exit… She was dragging me with her...

We were all hanging around a park. I was sitting with Elise and Da. Da and I were hugging Elise very tightly to try to comfort her. Elise had dragged me here when we got out of the guild.

“Sigh…” Elise let out a sigh.

Elise was still a bit dumbfounded thanks to what happened at the guild.

“To think something like that would happen while we were gone…” Mara nodded in understanding.

“It really makes me feel annoyed…I can’t believe I used to think like that as well...” Lara was clenching her fists… She was really angry.

“The difference is that you actually apologized for what you did.” Silvia said with a warm smile.

“Lara is nice! That guy is not! Don’t compare yourself to that bastard!” Gi said while smiling from ear to ear.

“I agree! Lara is very nice and kind!” Ra declared with a grin.

“Your food is extremely delicious!”  La smiled happily.

“Thank you… It really makes me feel better that you would say that.” Lara seemed genuinely happy that my sisters thought so highly of her.

“Sigh... We always end up getting caught into trouble wherever we go… I think we are cursed…” Na sighed heavily.

“Don’t say something so terrifying! We just had bad luck!” La tried to comfort Na.

Well, considering that we just made ourselves enemies of the Guild Master… But I think that’s a matter of perspective… You could consider that guy the unlucky one. 

I won’t forget what happened today.

“I fucking hate nobles! What a bunch of pricks! To insult me by confusing me as a Ratkin… I’m a Mousekin dammit!” Suika said while stomping the ground. She looked like a child who was having a tantrum.

“M-M-Mother! Please calm down! Uuuuu…. I don’t know what to do…” Nozomi was panicking while trying to calm her mother down.

“P-P-Perhaps giving her something to read will help…” Ta offered her favourite book to Suika. She was trembling a bit.

Suika continued to stomp on the ground until she noticed the book that Ta had offered to her.

“Ah… I remember this one… I used to read this to Nozomi when she was child.” Suika seemed to have calmed down.

Suika accepted the book and started reading.

I could only look at Ta with amazement.

“I’m glad…” Both Ta and Nozomi said in unison.

Da was hugging Elise with everything she had…

“Everything will be okay, Elise! We are here for you!” Da said with a smile. She was giving her best to comfort Elise.

“Thank you, Da...” Elise smiled bitterly before resting her head on my shoulder.

I started patting her head without saying a word…

(Hey, I don’t wanna be that girl right now, but what should we do now… I mean, we basically botched our job interview and feeding such a large number of people won’t be easy…) Sae said with an uncomfortable neigh.

“Don’t worry! Everything will be okay!” Arrat said with a smile

“We’ll figure something out.” Electra spoke with optimism.

“It is just as my sisters had said. This is hardly a problem. Ain’t that right, Tomoko?” Astera grinned from ear to ear.

“Ohoho! That’s right! I completely forgot about that! Fufufu! I will be supporting my husband!” Tomoko said with glee.

“We will tell all of you the details later, but let’s focus on Elise’s party for now.” Astera nodded with pride.

Silvia then looked at Arrat with a blank look.

“You already knew that this would happen… Why don’t you give us a spoiler every now and then? That way we can skip troublesome matters like this one.” Silvia said with a flat tone.

“You know I can’t do that! Where would be the fun in life if you know what would happen next? I was not using my powers, so I didn’t really know that would happen.” Arrat spoke with a suspicious tone.

“Right… And I “believe” you...” Silvia said with a sarcastic tone.

"What's that supposed to mean…?" Arrat looked a bit annoyed.

Seeing my wives, Suika and Nozomi interacting that way, made me realize that we would be alright after this.

For now, I need to focus on supporting Elise who is the most affected by this event.

"Ru… Do you think I overdid it?" Elise suddenly asked.

"I could ask the same thing about what I did." I replied with a bitter smile.

"But you got angry because you wanted to protect me… You did nothing wrong… Me, on the other hand, I just allowed my anger to get the better of me..." Elise said with a sad expression.

"And why were you angry?" I asked.

"Well, he was insulting my golden prince, so…" Elise averted her gaze. She seemed a bit embarrassed.

"You did nothing wrong then. You got angry for my sake, which makes me unbelievably happy." I smiled at Elise.

Elise blushed before hugging me very tightly.

"Jeez! Ru is way too good at this!" Da said jokingly.

Elise and I didn't reply and continued hugging each other.

Our display of affection was soon interrupted by…

"So you guys were here… You are way too fast… Didn't even wait for me to go to the guild…" Laura had suddenly arrived at the place we were at.

Elise raised her head and looked towards her. She had a difficult to read expression.

"Laura… Why didn't you tell me that the others had stopped being adventurers…?" Elise asked with a sad tone.

"Sigh… I knew this was going to happen… Sorry, Elise. I can't talk about that here." Laura said with a bitter smile.

"Why!? Why wouldn't you tell me!?" Elise got angry.

"I'm sorry, Elise! Runa and the others made me swear upon my future grave that I wouldn't tell you anything…" Laura said with an apologetic expression.

"I see…" Elise seemed to be about to tear up.

"Elise, can you and Ru come with me? Runa and the others forbid me talking about the why. They did, however, tell me that I should take you to their house as soon as you met the new Guild Master."

Elise raised her head as soon as she heard those words.

"I'll go." Elise said with determination.

She then looked at me without saying anything. She was asking me if I was going to come too.

I nodded.

"To everyone else, I'm sorry! I cannot bring all of you there! It would be way too suspicious for me to bring a large group there considering our situation." Laura apologized to the rest of my wives, to Suika and to Nozomi.

"Our situation? What do you mean by that?" Silvia asked.

"It is way more complicated than you would think… I don't want to say anything here, because we might be heard. For now, can you all go back to the inn? Rose said that she prepared some cake for all of you. I will explain properly as soon as Elise and Ru reunite with the other members of Alpine Tempest." Laura said with a serious expression.

"I see…" Silvia and I made eye contact. She then nodded at me.

Okay, I will tell you everything after we return.

I nodded back.

"Let's go. I really need to talk to them… This whole situation is just so strange… I really need an explanation." Elise said while looking at Laura.

"And you will have it. Now, let's move quickly before "they" appear." Laura said with a sense of urgency.

They…? For some reason, I have a bad feeling about this whole situation…

Elise, Laura and I quickly left the park.

Heya! New chapter at last! Yesterday was rough for me... I really appreciate that all of you waited patiently for this chapter. Now, some of you might be feeling that the personality of Leon changed a bit to make him... A bit of an idiot... I have a great explanation for that... An explanation that I will not give until next chapter! We will be able to get an explanation from all of the members of Alpine Tempest about what caused the party to be disbanded, why did they quit being adventurers and why the Guild Master is such a racist dick.
