Alfred headed his shield as he looked at the torches illuminating the village ahead.

"I hope he still is alive. If he didn't run off, this wouldn't have happened..." Rick sighed and unsheathed his sword as the duo made their way through the tall grass.

Goblins were short, normally stopping at three and a half feet tall unless they evolved into hobgoblins.

Hobgoblins were the same height as humans, with some being taller still. Because monsters had an innate advantage over mankind, it took more humans at the same level to kill one monster.

Of course, there were exceptions, however neither Rick or Alfred had seen a 'genius' of that calibre yet.

"We need to sneak around, there are a bit too many in front. If we can't even rescue Jack, we might as well go back and report it to the Guild."

Hearing Rick, Alfred nodded and tried to move as quietly as he could, however some people lacked talent in certain areas, Alfred included.

He couldn't navigate silently at all. He sounded like a big animal crashing through the underbrush, making Rick want to tell him to wait far away time and time again.

'If it wasn't because I couldn't save Jack myself, I'd have left you at the tree line and just charged in on my own...' Rick frowned as they neared the wooden fence erected by the goblins.

Despite it's rather shabby look, it did the job of keeping unwanted visitors out despite just being made of wood.

"Follow me, goblins aren't that smart, we might need to attract some attention so one of us can sneak in." Rick turned to Alfred and whispered.

"If they come back, they'll definitely catch one of us if we try to free Jack." Alfred retorted, however Rick just smiled.

"Then we can't afford to mess up then." Rick turned and gestured for Alfred to keep moving while he circled back around to the front of the village.

After finding a relatively safe spot, he rose from his crouch and slapped his drawn sword against his small shield.

"Come on you little green bastards! Your daddy is going to send you all to the afterlife!" Rick yelled loudly, his voice echoing in the night.

Unintelligible snarls and growls could be heard as the goblins grabbed whatever was closest to them and charged out at Rick.

'I hope that guy can free Jack, or I might end up dying today as well.' Rick turned and retreated a few feet and once again shouted to attract the goblins attention.

...

Isaac could faintly feel a strange force keeping him from moving too much, however he didn't mind it much and continued to pray to Buddha or God to be handsome.

He had woken up a few... He couldn't tell how much time passed, but he felt that he was significantly bigger than he was before.

'Maybe I'm close to being born! I bet my mother is a bombshell!' Thinking of having a sexy hot mother, Isasc couldn't help but drool a bit.

In his previous life, he was an orphan, so he never had familial love. Instead, his need for love grew into a twisted obsession where even if it was his mother, it didn't matter much to him.

'Ahaha. Father might just kill me if I have an affair with mom though... Life is hard.' Isaac imagined himself rolling his eyes as he waited for something to happen.

Not too long later, at least to Isaac, he felt the force on him growing tighter and tighter, and a feeling of suffocation surged up within him.

Moving unconsciously, he forced himself upwards, his jaw opening and closing as he felt whatever was covering him give way.

With a massive amount of strength he didn't know he had, he felt the air change from warm to cool, and a bit of liquid trickling down his body.

'Eh? Was that me being born? It seemed a bit weird... Is that how vampires are born?' Isaac couldn't help but hope he was something he thought was cool.

The first thing he noticed was a strange image in is mind, displaying a dirt floor and a someone laying beneath him.

With ambit of struggle, he examined the body beneath him and then imagined himself innocently smiling.

'Ah! Looks like I was sleeping on someone? Wait, what is all this sticky stuff?' Looking at the liquid pooling on the ground, Isaac looked back to the hole he emerged from and froze.

'Eh? Why is it that I feel that I was inside this fellow? No, that can be right, I was born handsome and adorable right?!'

Not wanting to live a life where his looks were mediocre, Isaac saw something enter his image, radiating a red aura as it drew near.

'Walls' seemed to enclose him on all sides, then a section of the 'wall' gave way and the source of the red aura became apparent.

'Is that a goblin?! Holy shit! Why is there a monster right after I was just born?! This difficulty is too high!'

The goblin scratched it's wrinkled bald head as it tried to understand the scene in front of it. Why did the human look like that? Didn't they agree to save him for dinner? Dead meat was no good!

It's eyes trailed down until it stopped on a rather strange looking worm-like creature covered in blood.

Lifting it's club, it leapt forward, determined to kill this strange worm for killing it's meal! To the goblins shock, the 'worm' flashed and flew past its head and landed on the ground.

With speed that confused the goblin, the small 'worm' vanished into the night after escaping the tent.

Filled with rage, the goblin charged after the 'worm' while shrieking in it's own language about a small blood worm.

The other goblins shot him a few looks, however because Rick was drawing their attention, they all hurried to the entrance gate.

Soon the area fell silent, then the sound of iron hitting iron sounded as an armored figure slashed the tent open with his sword and approached Jack's body.

"Damn, he's dead! Rick is gonna be mad. Should I at least take his body back with me?" After a moment of hesitation, he knelt and placed the body over his shoulder and ran back the way he came.

A few wooden huts away, Isaac saw a humanoid figure with an aura stronger than that of goblins stopping near the body of the ground.

Isaac could still see the body giving off a red aura, however it dissipated with time. If it faded anymore, it wouldn't be able to be shown in his mind's image.
