First Arc (King of Euphorion) – 21. Long Live King Angelus!

Chancellor Allan glanced at Angel before returning his gaze to Prince Lucian. His hesitation and doubt were clear from his expression.
"B-But, he..."

Prince Lucian interrupted Chancellor Allan.
"I know you are afraid of him, but I'm sure... He will protect this kingdom far better than Xenos."

"Your Highness, this is about the Kingdom of Euphorion's fate and millions of people's lives," said Duke Nicolin worriedly. Angel wasn't from Euphorion, a foreigner, a commoner, a dark magic user and worse... A traitor. Even King Xenos who had a good family background almost brought Euphorion to destruction. How could they entrust this kingdom's fate to Angel?

Prince Lucian turned his gaze to Duke Nicolin.
"It's fine, Duke Nicolin, I have known him for a long time. I know what kind of person he is..."

"But-" Before Duke Nicolin finished his words Prince Lucian's body began to fade.

"Looks like I don't have much time," said Prince Lucian, his gaze on his hands that were starting to look transparent. Duke Nicolin and Chancellor Allan only could look at him with sad expressions.

Prince Lucian shifted his gaze at them again.
"I hope you're willing to cooperate with him to rebuild this kingdom," he added. Then Prince Lucian looked at Angel once more.
"Angelus Raizel... I entrust this kingdom to you."

Angel responded to him with a nod and a smile.

Prince Lucian bent his knee before him and bowed.
"Long live King Angelus!" he shouted before disappearing like smoke.

Duke Nicolin looked down and clenched his fists. His mind was full of so many considerations.
'If Euphorion doesn't have a ruler, this kingdom will be in chaos. Now the four elemental spirits already admitted him. Even you too, Prince Lucian... If that's what you want... We can only follow your will.' Duke Nicolin swallowed his hesitation and made his decision. There was nothing he could do right now but to believe Prince Lucian's words and give Angel a chance. He dropped his knee and bowed.
"Long live King Angelus!" His voice echoed throughout the hall.

Finally, the whole people except Chancellor Allan followed Duke Nicolin to kneel one knee and bowed one by one since they knew they didn't have a choice but to give Angel a chance.
"Long live King Angelus!"

Chancellor Allan looked at Angel with his eyes trembling in emotions. He couldn't believe Prince Lucian had put his trust in an unknown person like Angel.
"Angelus Raizel, if you can't fulfil your promise to His Highness, Prince Lucian. I am the first person who will take you down from the throne." Though he knew Angel was dangerous, Chancellor Allan's looked at him sharply.

"I told you, I'm not someone who likes to break my promises," replied Angel.

Finally, Chancellor Allan bent his knee and bowed.
"Long live King Angelus!"

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Even though he was aware of their doubts, at least they were willing to give him a chance.
'Thank you, Lucian. This really helped me to take over Euphorion faster and avoid more casualties.'
"Rise up," he ordered.

Everyone in the room stood up, following his orders.
"About today's incident, Chancellor Allan, how are the wounded troops?" he said as he turned his gaze to Chancellor Allan.

"We have brought them back to the barracks and treated them there. The doctors and nurses are examining their wounds now," answered Chancellor Allan.

"Pay attention to their treatment. For the dead, give them a proper burial, including the late King Xenos. We will have his funeral soon."

"Yes, Your Majesty," replied Chancellor Allan.

He shifted his gaze to Duke Nicolin.
"Duke Nicolin, I am assigning you to lead an army to clean up today's mess. Also, notify the Luminus City's civilians that the castle is fine to calm them down."

"Yes, Your Majesty," replied Duke Nicolin.

"That's enough for today. We will continue by tomorrow morning, the court is dismissed." He got up from the throne.
"I need some magic users and guards to come with me to the magic room. We need to repair the magic formation," he said as he walked toward the exit past the people who bowed to salute him followed by the four elemental spirits.
