Third Arc (Fallen Heart) - 129. The Underground Mercenaries V
Upon what he said, the mercenaries once again pressed their swords against Angel and Flare's necks. But different from before. Before they could do so, a dark force threw their weapons.
-Clang! - Clang! - Clang!
The clanging sounds filled the room as their weapons landed on the ground. They were shocked and quickly tried to take their weapons. But they were even shocked when they found they couldn't move their bodies, as if something invisible had gripped them.
Angel raised his hand, revealing the dark aura that swirled in his palm. An evil smirk on his lips.
They gasped. Likewise with the leader. Even with his mask still covering his face, they immediately knew who he was. The most dangerous people on this continent. He is the dark king of Euphorion!
Stefan stood up from his chair in shock and threw his blade. No, he didn't plan to fight. He knew it was stupid and would end up in vain. But he just wanted to distract himself so he could pull one of the trap levers. With that he wished he could escape since killing him was nearly impossible.
- Clang!
A chakram deflected the blade. But Stevan didn't care, he immediately turned and ran.
Unfortunately, Flare was already behind him. Her mask was already gone and her chakram was already attached to her neck.
“Where are you going, Sir Stefan? We're not done talking yet," she said in a casual tone. She felt pumped up after she pretended to submit to him. So it was time for revenge.
"Tch!" Stefan clicked his tongue and glanced at the window, calculating what he had to do to escape.
But Flare immediately noticed.
"Please don't think about running it away, Sir Stefan," he threatened and pressed his weapon deeper into his neck. It even scratched his skin and made a small wound. A drop of blood dripped down his neck.
Stefan glanced at his neck before glancing back at Angel who was taking off his mask.
"Take a seat, Sir Stefan," he said calmly, gesturing to the chair in front of him.
Stefan couldn't cover his shock since Angel looked younger than he had imagined. But, indeed he could not deny that the king's gaze was intimidating him. He knew he wouldn't be able to survive unless he ran away. But with the General Flare around his neck, he also felt that was impossible. So he decided to trick them.
“Looks like I have no other choice,” Stefan muttered. He glanced at Flare.
"Mind to let me go, General?" he asked.
She did his request.
Stefan pretended he meant to sit down, but just as he was getting close to the seat, he turned and tried to escape to the window. His hand threw his blade on the lever not far from the bar near their seat as his last effort.
But with his dark power, Angel simply threw one of his members to block the blade from reaching the lever.
"Argh!" A grunt of pain is heard when the blade pierces the man. That was followed once the body landed on the floor.
To prevent Stefan from escaping, Flare simply threw her chakrams at Stefan's feet, an easy way to stop someone from escaping. He couldn't kill him since Angel needed information from him.
The chakrams made deep cuts on his calf.
"Argg!" Stefan groaned and fell before he reached the window. His hand reached for the only way out. His legs moved slowly to creep up, ignoring the pain that stabbed him.
But Flare quickly dragged him back.
Stefan, who didn't want to give up, turned to throw his blade at Flare. But then he realized he couldn't move his body anymore. Fainty, he could see a dark force binding his body. Roughly, she pulled Stefan to sit on the chair opposite Angel.
Stefan struggled to break free but it was useless. What he could do was waiting for his end.
In a rage, he looked at the king sitting in front of him and gritted his teeth.
"Shall we start this interrogation?" Angel asked casually.
