Lex suddenly found that he was in a white room, and his body was visible again.

Jasmine, Anna and Heather were there too, but they look frozen like statues.

They were all naked, and only Lex could move.

He rushed to them and checked on them.

They didn't blink, move or even breathe!

"Don't worry, they are not dead" a white glowing humanoid said as he turned around.

He couldn't tell what gender it was, and it was too bright to even see his or her features.

"Who... who are you?" Lex asked as another similar humanoid appeared.

"We are called the Celestials. My name is Phaal" one said

"I am Tabe" the second said.

"You have been interfering with our plans over and over again. We initiated several protocols on Earth to let the earth develop its own defenses, but you have been sabotaging them. We have named you the glitch" Phaal said

"On earth... you mean the towers and gates?" Lex asked

"Yes. I am the celestial that introduced the tower. The humans were supposed to take 5 years to train and develop inside the tower. But you were not invited and then kept finishing it early" Phaal said

"And I developed the Gates as a way to slowly get humanity used to outsiders invading, yet gave them power to fight back and develop. Your interference with the tower also jumpstarted the gates and awakeners" Tabe said

Lex frowned, knowing these creatures were too powerful for him to mess with, and thus he was forced to listen

"You have interfered with our plans and our efforts to rectify it by pushing the awakeners faster have only resulted in mistakes like Dionysus. His power level was supposed to be only in 10 years when everyone else is of equal levels, but he was levelled up to match the more powerful gates, because you were destroying the gates too easily.

Now Magam and Tadel have to implement new systems and scrap our towers and gates

You have embarrassed us and made our programs failures" Phaal said, sounding angry.

"Not only that, you used the space-time energy from the tower to jump dimensions. Gaome was furious!" Tabe said

"As such you will be punished" Phaal said

"What? All I did was..." suddenly, Lex couldn't speak

"Annihilation is your punishment. You will be stripped of all your abilities, sent back in time when things were normal and killed off before you make unnecessary changes to the timeline" Tabe said

"There will be no Towers or Gates, Tadel and Magam wiil implement new systems. But they definitely will not involve Alex Marshall, as you will not exist, and Jasmine Lockhart, Anna Wineburg and Heather Bluise will not be a part of the new system." Phaal said

"Nooo!" Lex screamed in his head

This was not fair. All he did was do what was right!

Jasmine, Anna and Heather vanished

"Now, your turn. Goodbye... glitch" Phaal said coldly.

Just like that, Lex vanished.

--

"I still have awareness" Lex thought as he regained consciousness

He looked around. He was naked! He tried to conjure shadows to cover himself, but he no longer had his shadow powers

It was dark, and the street lights in the suburbs barely lit the road as it still was dark.

"I.. I know where this is!" Lex thought as he walked down the familiar street.

This was where he grew up. And.... that was his house he lived with, with his parents before they died

The "For Sale" sign was up, and a sticker above it saying "Sold" was plastered over the sign

"When is this I wonder?" Lex thought. He had sold his parents house and volunteered for the military when he sold his house.

Just then, she saw  Jasmine step out of a cab! She lived two doors away opposite the road from his old house.

He used to walk her to school and that's how they started being together. He was two years older than her, but she was just so beautiful then.

She looked a few years younger, about the time he left for the military!

"Jasmine!" he called out automatically, but no sound came out of his mouth.

She looked troubled and walked into her door, closing it behind her.

He ran to her house and slowed down.

Should he see her? This is the past, right?

He walked up to her door, his feet moving by itself.

He stopped at the door and knocked.

But his hand went right through!

So he phased through the door and walked through her dark house.

He passed by a mirror next to the stairs, and saw he had no reflection!

He signed. This was what they mean by saying he no longer existed.

Wasn't this good? Maybe all the bad things that had happened to them, wouldn't happen now.

After all, he was guaranteed that they will not be involved in the towers or gates.

He turned around and decided to leave.

Maybe this is for the best.

He walked out of the house and started to leave.

But the further away he walked, he suddenly noticed his body started fading!

He started to feel an excruciating pain. Even though he was a ghost or something, he suddenly could not breathe.

He turned around and it seemed he could only breathe in a particular direction.

He extended his hands and suddenly, as if he was dust being vacuumed, he was sucked at a high speed and ended up in Jasmine's room!

What was going on? He couldn't move away from her?

Jasmine was sitting on her bed, crying. She was in her bra and panties but sobbing uncontrollably as she typed on her mobile phone

"What is going on? What would make her so distraught to message like this?" Lex thought and looked over her shoulder.

[Dear Lex. I think we should break up for real. Since moving to Hollywood, my horizons have been broadened. I don't know how you are doing over there, but I am thriving here. I'm sorry. I hope things work out for you over there. I do still miss you. But I've decided to concentrate on my career now. The first reading of the real script is tomorrow, and I need to put my whole heart into it. Take care.]

"No... no!!" Lex shouted, but nobody could hear him.
