This chapter contains more gore and strong language than usual.

Mai woke up again on the same bed to see Nadia with a bowl of carrot stew next to her.

“Hey, I figure you might be hungry, you haven’t had anything since yesterday.” Nadia said.

“Uh… yea… thanks.” Mai took the carrot stew and ate it. She decided it was best not to let Nadia know of her <Inventory>’s content.

“You feel any better?”

“Yes, I slept for almost two days straight, after all. Still feel a slight headache though.” Mai leaned on the wall after finishing the carrot stew. “It is pretty dark already, you don’t have your receptionist job?”

“A nice little rest never hurts.” And the two of them stayed silent for a few minutes. “You are very strong, Mai.”

“…I joined the military when I was six.”

“You serious?”

“It was my parents who forced me into the army, I didn’t have a choice. I went through extreme training as soon as I was three, and was deployed to the battlefield the moment I reached ten.”

“That sounds… hard.”

“Well not for me, been familiar with so much stuff already.” She looked at Nadia then got out of the bed. “Thanks for taking care of me. I guess I’m leaving for now. Have a nice evening.”

Mai ran back to her base but not as fast as she usually did because she was somewhat exhausted, a status she rarely had since Mai was an energetic girl.

When she got near the base, Mai heard strange noises such as rustling sounds and people talking. Mai dashed out of the bushes and spotted three people, most likely looters, scavenging the warehouse she built some other day and uprooting the crops she planted.

Suddenly, Mai was filled with rage seeing her stuff being taken away like that; the thieves also noticed her approaching. “Hey, hey. Sons of bitches. One thing that I absolutely hate is some pricks stealing my stuff. With that, you are requested to pay with your lives!” She said then, lunged forward with the speed of light.

“Wait, who-“and right then, he felt something important missing from his body. The guy checked, and to his horror, there was a large hole in his chest and his heart being held by Mai. He quickly collapsed as there was nothing to regulate the blood around his body.

The two companions of the dead bandit stood there confused by the sight but then screamed out loud as they registered the fact that the small girl had just ripped a man’s heart out.

Mai threw the still-beating heart to the man on her left, the organ exploded, splashing red blood on his face, blinding and shocking him. She then rushed to his place and snapped his neck.

The last target had some time as she was slaughtering the other two, and he tried to attack with his ax, but then his arm was grabbed by the girl and twisted a whole turn.

The man felt an unbearable pain and dropped his weapon, then it was kicked away by Mai.

The girl then held his head and tore it from his neck. Blood spewed up from the headless body like a fountain before it fell.

Dropping the head down, Mai walked around her base to examine the situation. Unfortunately, a large portion of her stuff is gone, but she discovered some footsteps and a map showing the location of a bandit’s hideout.

Mai followed the trail and the map left by the bandits. Whoever was at the hideout would never imagine what was coming for them.

On the side of the cliff is the entrance to a series of abandoned mines that had been repurposed into a bandit base.

This place was responsible for many troubles caused around the region, and it was a pain for the country to deal with because of the number of bandits and the complexity of the cavern system.

The occupiers had built a wall around the base’s entrance, and some bandits were standing guard to defend against the military and adventurers.

A person holding a rifle stood up high on the wall, and he saw a certain girl from afar. “Hey, you know who’s that? And why is she covered in blood?” He said to another guy nearby.

That guy shrugged, but they prepared their weapons in case she was an intruder.

A few minutes later, the bandits on the gate also noticed the girl as she came closer and closer.

“Where you going, little miss?” A guy asked.

“Hello,” then she ripped his throat open with her fingernails. “Goodbye,”

The girl’s intention was clear, and the bandit guards attacked at once. However, she bypassed and forms of attack and ripped and tore every enemy apart with her bare hands.

Mai climbed the wall and faced gun holders.

The nearest of them fired, but the bullet missed even though she just stood there.

“What…? Fuckers don’t even know how to aim, even the Iraqis insurgents are better than you lot.”

Mai continued her slaughter ignoring the rain of bullets which wasn’t any accurate in the first place.

She went inside the mine after finishing her business outside. The scene changed to a mountain of blood, dead bodies and body parts being thrown out of the entrance, and the victims’ horrifying screams inside the tunnels.

The screams persisted for almost a day, and then things became absolutely quiet. The bandit base was turned into a disgusting mess both the tunnels and the grass outside; saving for the storage since the girl saw her stuff and a lot of other interesting items, she decided to clean the room up.

After killing a whole 300 people, Mai noticed that she leveled up quite a lot, and her <Inventory> expanded. There was still space left even when she had put everything in the storage in so she looked around and found a solution.

Mai went and collected the remains of her victims and then harvested the corpses. The bones would be used to make glue, and the flesh would be used as fertilizers. She then left the area with her <Inventory> almost full.

If somebody came to this place again, all they could see would be the hint of red blood, no corpses, no skeletons, nothing.
