Natasha parted her lips, her green eyes looking at his lips, reeling at the moment they were in. She leaned forward closer to Jay, about to kiss him, their lips brushed against each other, about to passionately kiss when Jay pulled back.

"Yeah, I am late for work. Do you want me to drop you somewhere," Jay pulled back his car, driving.

Natasha watched him incredulously, scoffing, sitting back as she crossed her hands, putting one leg on the other, looking outside the window, "drop me anywhere."

Jay glanced at her from the rearview mirror, her lips pressed, a smile appeared on his lips, "you look cute when you are angry."

Natasha leaned forward, "drop me here!"

Jay rolled his eyes, "can we not do this? We both know if we end up on the bed together, you will ask questions. And that is going to spoil all the fun. I might even reveal a bit of information or two. So, how about you stop acting and I give you something?"

Natasha lightly smiled, leaning forward, "good enough for me."

Jay stopped the car, turning to look back at her, his scarlet eyes watching her.

Natasha watched him for a few seconds, "you are thinking about what to say, aren't you? An excuse?"

Jay shifted his eyes, "no, totally not."

Natasha pressed her lips, watching him with a solemn look. She opened the door, "I hope you are having fun. Lying to everyone you know, not caring about anyone. And you won't even move to save the only friend that you have in the world. I just don't get...why?"

Jay glanced out of the window. Why? Maybe because he was hoping that Tony dies there so that he doesn't have to do the job.

This kind of incident gives people a second look at life, and they could take any path. Become better, or fall in the arms of the evil.

From the looks of it, Tony decided to be good in this universe. If someone asked him, why so much focus on Tony?

Because of all the other Heroes and villains, Tony, Victor Doom in another universe, and Reed Richards were hardest to deal with. Through Technology, the damage they caused was even vaster than Hulk and more widespread.

Jay started the car, "Natasha, tell Fury not to disturb me again. We decided that I am out."

Natasha walked out, "you are the one who decided that. Others just had to accept it." She slammed the door, letting Jay drive away.

He curled his lips, driving towards his workplace while his thoughts went towards his days in SHIELD.

Unlike most other universes that were running out of control, his was strangely quiet. But did that mean it was peaceful, or someone hadn't disturbed water under the surface?

So, he started checking out a few of the most dangerous hot spots with the highest amount of villains. After he checked on the Hands. Jay moved to SHIELD.

Once he was done with the damage assessment, he left and moved on to the next one. Tony Stark.

Yet, Fury, being Fury, never removed any chess piece from the board and used what he had to.

It wasn't like once you were in SHIELD, you were never out. More like once you were on Fury's radar, there was no getting out.

He smiled to himself, driving to work until he got there. He parked his car, walking inside, making a call, "Hello?"

"Hello, Jay!" An enthusiastic voice came from the other side, while Jay took the other phone from his pocket.

He pulled it from the side, revealing a blue screen, sending a message and recording to Tony, "Yeah, Obadiah, Tony just fired me."

"What? Why?"

Jay smiled. He could just imagine Obadiah standing up, pacing around worried. He spoke, "I went to him with a new idea for a next-gen weapon, and he got angry, tripping out and then fired me."

Obadiah rubbed his head, "you are not fired. I will talk to Tony. Why don't you come up, and I will talk to you?"

"Ok," Jay got in the elevator, calling Pepper, his eyes fell on few people standing with him, "get out. This is an important call."

The four men and women looked at each other before getting out in confusion as Jay closed the elevator door.

His other hand was dexterously working on making sure that Obadiah's call didn't connect to Tony's, "Jay?"

"Pepper, just call Tony and tell him that I want to get on the side of the board to see how things are going. I told Obadiah that Tony fired me."

Pepper leaned back on the chair, covering her mouth, "you did what? Do you know how that makes Tony sound?"

Jay smiled, "yeah, but I also gave him a project that would allow him to produce enough electricity that he can power the whole world seven times over."

Pepper put her hand down, "sorry? What?"

"Yes, but I am sure Tony's going to wait to see what the board does. Once this project goes through, Stark Industries would be larger than ever. It's best to remove the parasites now, and so, you understand?"

Pepper covered her face, "Is this one of your impromptu ideas that you couldn't wait to act upon?"

Jay chuckled, "yes, it is."

Pepper let out a breath, "I will tell him. Let's just hope it isn't late."

"Oh, it's not," Jay smiled, cutting the call.

In Basement,

Tony had built the base of the gauntlet when his mobile started ringing, which he didn't want to see until Jarvis suggested, "Sir, it's from Miss Pepper."

"Pick the call," Tony said, entirely focused on the gauntlet.

"Tony!" Pepper shouted, "Jay told Obadiah that you fired him."

Tony nearly dropped the items that he was holding in his hand, juggling in a panic until all of them fell, "what? I didn't!"

Pepper's confused voice entered his ear, "he said it was because you didn't plan to release those plans on clean energy to see who in the board of directors was on your side and who wasn't. So that you can remove the 'parasites' because you take on a project so big that it could provide electricity for the whole Earth."

"I did?" Tony thought for a moment, which made Pepper question, "you didn't?"

"No...I mean, yes. I did. Once we take that project on, it will bring much attention. I'd rather just buy back my stocks when the prices are so low, they have lost the trust. I totally have everything planned and handled. Don't worry. If Jay needs any help, then give it to him. I am busy, bye."

"Wait, Tony-"

Tony cut the call, picking up his tools, with a solemn look in his eyes. More than the gauntlet, the thing going on in his mind was why Jay was trying to get inside a director of boards meeting. It just caused a few thoughts to surface, stuff he didn't want to think about.

In SHIELD Headquarters,

Natasha strutted through the hall, entering Nick Fury's office. Her eyes glanced around the room, her eyes shifting between Maria, Coulson, and resting on Nick Fury, "something is going on."

Coulson looked at her, "yes, we found something." He slid the file across the table, making Natasha sit down and open it.

There were some pictures taken by the satellite. It made Natasha narrow her eyes and focus, "what am I looking at? Is that?"

Nick opened his one eye, the other covered in the eyepatch, "he created an iron suit in the cave and used it to pay back his captors."

Natasha looked at the numerous photos, closing the file, "that's fine and all. But that is not what I am talking about. The reason why he refused the mission was that he didn't want to save Stark. Jay wanted him to die."

Coulson stood up, "did he say that? That doesn't sound like Jay."

"Not in so many words."

Maria light tapped on the table, "on the contrary, that is much like Jay. During any mission, the first thing he always did was a thorough background check. Then he made a profile, then he moved onto predicting the future actions, and finally decided whether to let the target live, or kill, or guide."

"He's being indecisive over what to do with Stark," Fury took a deep breath. He leaned back on his comfortable chair.

"Stark might have been planning to build a suit for some time, and he got wind of it, like always. Now that he has run the background check, made a profile, and predicted Starks's actions, he's conflicted. That means Starks's action might be conflicting. He could cause great damage...or..."

Nick Fury sat up with zeal, "I want all eyes on Stark and every transaction that the Stark Industries make. Also, Obadiah, keep your eyes on him too. We will soon make our move."

Maria stood up, with a tap in his hand, "want me to inform Jay? He won't be happy with us interfering."

Nick smiled, narrowed his eyes, "hmm, I want to inform him. But he blocked our number."

Coulson loosened his tie, "I feel a disaster coming."

Nick Fury shot a look at Coulson, "and you are going?"

"What?! No!!" Coulson protested with all his heart and soul.

In Stans office,

Stan stood up, shaking hands with Jay, "Hello."
