Monaco Historic Grand Prix,

"You are wearing decent clothes for once," Pepper held the wine glass, standing in front of him with a smile on her face.

Jay was sitting on the barstool in front of her, looking down at the costly suit, "yeah? I don't like it one bit."

"It looks good, much better than what you usually wear," Tony was leaning against the bar, holding a glass of scotch in his hand, smiling.

Jay was about to say something when he noticed something, changing the sentence, "your best friend is coming over."

"Anthony, is that you? Hey, pal! You are not the only rich guy here with a fancy car."

"My least favorite person on Earth, Justin Hammer," Tony disinterestedly glanced towards Justin Hammer, exchanging a glance with Pepper and Jay.

Justin Hammer put his hand on the back of the woman beside him, "you know Christine Everhart from Vanity Fair? She is doing a big spread on me."

Pepper glanced towards Christine, throwing a sarcastic comment, "she did quite a spread on Tony last year."

"And she wrote a story as well," Tony just had to make it clear, making Jay burst out in a soft laugh.

He looked at the four pairs of eyes towards him, waving his hand, "continue. Please. Tv shows are starting to become boring."

Pepper took a deep breath, "I am going to wash up."

Tony let out a sigh when Christine used the opportunity to interview, "Is this the first time you are seeing each other since the senate?"

"Since he got his contract revoked."

"Oh, that is actually on hold," Justine said to keep up the appearance.

Jay nudged Tony, "you had the meeting with the senate?"

Tony shook his head, patting his shoulder, "you, boy, need to stop working so much. Come with me. I have a fun idea."

Jay politely waved goodbye to Justin and Christine, following behind Tony, "why do I think your idea is not any good?"

Tony chuckled, "I bet you are going to like it."

And so,

Jay was standing beside a race car on the race track. He watched Tony give the interview, looking towards the car, "it is a bad idea. I like it."

He smiled, gesturing towards Tony, getting inside the car. He started the car, accelerating, hearing the engine, "Oh, yes. I am going to enjoy this."

Tony came over, sitting in his own race car, driving behind him.

Jay glanced out of the window, looking at Tony trying to cross him, putting his feet down on the accelerator, driving faster, "I like it more when the air hits my face. But this isn't bad."

He took the first lap, while Tony came ahead in the second lap. When Jay drove even faster.

"Sir, there is someone on the track. You must be careful."

Jay narrowed his eyes, his eyes followed the man standing on the track as he passed through, "that is."

He skidded the car, turning it backward, towards the man holding two electronical whips, watching him slash Tony's car into two.

Jay got out of the skidding car, stepping on the race track even as the car collided with the boundary behind him.

Tony dragged his body out of the car, looking at him, "stop acting cool and help me!"

Jay chuckled, walking over to the man with chin-length hair and a mustache, "hello there, would you mind introducing yourself?"

"This is not your fight. Stay back, and you won't get hurt," The man spoke in an accented voice.

"Hmm," Jay glanced towards Tony, shifting his eyes towards the reactor on the man's face, "Vanko. You are Ivan Vanko. Son of Anton Vanko. Is this revenge?"

Vanko lashed his whip on the ground, "if you know what is good for you, then don't interfere."

Jay smiled at him, running forward, Vanko lashed his whip towards Jay, but he bent down, dodging it, punching Vanko in the stomach.

Vanko curled up a little, giving Jay the chance to kick him in the face, "I couldn't care less about your motives. You are being an annoyance."

"Aghhh!!!!" Vanko moved his hands forward. The whip handles were about to touch him. But Jay stepped back, dodging one whip after the other when his eyes fell on the car that was coming towards them.

"Tony!!" Pepper threw a case towards Tony, making Tony smile, "perfect!"

Tony opened the case, wearing the armor. While Jay searched for a weak point so he could rush in and attack Vanko.

Tony raised his hand, a repulsor beam collided against Vanko's back, giving Jay the opening he needed. He ran near her, kicking Vanko in the face, shoving his leg down, with Vanko's head colliding against the track, his leg on top of it.

Vanko swung his hand in all directions while his other hand covered the broken nose. Jay walked away, avoiding him, "seriously? Don't you do target practice? The head, you always aim at the head of the zombies."

Tony pointed towards Ivan Vanko, "fuck! That is not a zombie - I can't just kill him! Even if he destroyed my car!"

Jay didn't want to hear it, "Oh well, deal with him. He is your mess." He walked over to the car, waving towards Happy, "Hi, Happy."

"Hello, Sir."

Pepper looked towards Iron Man standing in front of Whiplash, talking, "will he be all right?"

Jay smiled, leaning against the car, "why wouldn't he be? He's Iron Man."

Iron Man smugly walked over, "give up, and your nose will be the only thing that's broken."

Ivan Vanko got on his feet, his voice filled with hatred, "Stark!!!"

Tony pointed his hands backward, shooting his body to the front, punching Whiplash, the electric whips lashed on his body. But to no effect.

Tony kicked and punched again before pulling out the Arc Reactor from his chest, tearing his armor apart, "why don't we wait for the police."

He looked at fainted Vanko, walking over to Jay, Pepper, and Happy, "that was fast."

Tony pointed at Mark VII he was wearing, "it would have been faster if I wanted to kill him."

He shifted his eyes towards Jay, "you seem to know him? Who is he? And how does he have the Arc Reactor?"

Jay raised his hand, "wait, you mean you don't know him? Vanko? Anton Vanko? You haven't heard the name?"

Tony frowned, "No. Never heard of it."

Jay shook his head, "Anton Vanko was with your father when creating the Arc Reactor. When you miniaturized the Arc Reactor, I researched everything about it. Even about Anton Vanko and his exile to Siberia. I kept an eye on this one for a while too. But then I got busy with the company and all. But if he's here, then your old friend Ten Rings must have a hand in it."

"Why didn't you tell me about it?" Tony raised his mask, staring at Jay.

Jay shrugged, "you mean to say that I should tell you about your father, your technology? And your family history? I just assumed that you knew."

Tony walked off, "I didn't."

Jay glanced towards Pepper, "I'll handle him. Can you and Happy?"

"We'll stay here making sure that Vanko goes to prison," Jay opened the door for her, watching her run behind Tony, calling out to him.

Jay bent down, looking towards, "yeah, you handle that."

Happy got out of his car, flustered, "what?! You just promised!"

Jay hesitated, fluttering his eyes, "yes, and this called breaking it. Bye!" He glanced towards Ivan Vanko; scarlet energy slipped from beneath his legs, entering his body. To keep him in check.

He picked up his mobile, "Echo, get me a helicopter, and prepare a jet."

"Sir, the destination?"

"SHIELD Headquarters," Jay narrowed his eyes, moving towards the parking lot, calling Maria Hill.

"Jay? This is rare, you calling me."

"Ivan Vanko just attacked Tony Stark. What happened? I thought your people were keeping an eye on him?"

"Yes, I wanted to inform you. But Vanko managed to give agents the slip. It seemed he had help."

"Ten Rings," Jay said, thinking. Maybe the agents that they placed were HYDRA. From the information Echo collected, Senator Stern was a covert member of HYDRA.

"Maybe, we are still looking."

"Forget about that. Give me the list of agents that were on duty. Also, I am coming to the headquarters. I will select a team of competent agents to keep an eye on Vanko."

"Is there a need to do that? From what I can tell, he is in police custody?"

"He is the only other person that knows how to build an Arc Reactor. His value is in hundreds of millions. Someone is bound to make a move, and I want to know when and who. Anyway, tell Fury that I am coming."

In SHIELD headquarters,

Maria cut the call, standing beside Fury's table, "I could use more respect. He treats me like his secretary."

Fury leaned back on his comfortable chair, "well, it's good that he is coming. There is something that I want to talk to him about too."

Maria opened the images of Jay, who appeared in different parts of the country within seconds, "I think we do deserve some answers."

"Right, call Agent Romanoff.
