"Are you sure you want to attack me? Or do you not want to hear about your friend over there? I know you have questions about it after working with him for the past few months. Or should I say...he scares the hell out of you? Those were your exact wordings, right?" Deschaine flipped through the records as if trying to find one.

Bobbi frowned, stealing a glance towards Primo when she saw him smiling at her.

He looked towards Deschaine, "you really need to up the game if you want to beat me. Being a shrink isn't going to cut it."

"But I don't need to beat you," Deschaine smiled, "you aren't here to kill me or hurt me. You are here because of her; you want her to defeat me, and if she loses. Then you are going to leave me be, so she can take revenge. Because that's what you do, right? Take away the powers of all that you do not deem fits, take their gifts from them, play God in their lives?"

Primo pressed his lips, suspiciously looking at him, "you have it wrong. I want her to deal with you if she can, but in no scenario are you going to leave here alive. I don't mind the prostitutes; it's the oldest profession. Everyone can do what they like or are good at. What I do mind is when people force men, women, or children to do it. I can't go around dealing with it when non-enhanced humans do it, but when you put superpowers in the mix. My dear, I am gonna take all that frustration out on you."

"Ah, yes, your rules of what you can and cannot do. You have lived your whole life by these rules, not even daring to date a woman, an empty life-"

"Look, it's not gonna work on me," Primo shook his head, "despair? I have played around enough. I have seen enough...I see the world for more than you can understand. I understand the role that fate has to play, the fate of this city, that it has been repeating over and over. Do you think you are unique? No, just another puppet in this repeating cycle, from long before this city stood was even built. I see the fate of this world, of every move that I make. Everyone tries their best to make ripples in this pool? I despair over the fact that a small movement from me might burn it to the ground."

Primo walked over to him, chuckling, "you want despair? My despair?"

The closer he walked, the more thick black smoke started to surround the room, causing it to darken. But with the spoke, there were voices, pictures.

Even though bother Deschaine and Bobbi were drowning in this darkness. It was almost as if the time had slowed down.

The two could see the world but from different eyes. The two found themselves in the body of a child, on the stairs, with snow-covered the front yard, and children playing.

The two could feel the happiness and desire to go play with them.

It was almost like they could hear the voice inside them.

(Ask me...ask me...I want to play too.)

As if answering his wishes, one of the children came over. With a body covered in warm clothes, a woolen hat covering his head, with a smile on his adorable face, "Oye, stop sitting and come play!"

Bobbi, inside the child's body involuntarily, raised her hand when the scenery around her changed. It turned into a massacre with children falling to their knees. She could still feel a snowball in her hand, and another one had passed through the body of a child.

She wanted to vomit when it changed again, the orphanage had broken down, and children were buried inside.

She was surrounded by rescuers, feeling the gaze of all the other people.

It changed again, the children were still alive, and one of them came and put ice inside her clothes. She jumped up, waving her hand, and she killed the child again.

She wasn't the only one, Deschaine went through the same thing, and in his case, he went through all the possibilities, not just a few.

When the two came to, their eyes were staring at the child, who asked them to come and play.

And they took it back, feeling the tears well in their eyes.

"The despair that comes with power...but it's worse when you are smart enough to know the possibilities of what is to come," Primo appeared beside them, watching the scene with nostalgic eyes.

The environment changed again, and the two found themselves in a teen's body.

They were sitting in a club, with friends surrounding them, talking, laughing. When one of the girls took the hand, to pull him to the dance floor.

And soo, everything started spiraling out. He tried to resist, and the hand of the girl got torn apart from her body. She screamed, in fear, in pain, with her blood gushing out. But their body moved and healed the girl. But it didn't help it - everyone was looking in terror.

It changed again. Now, Deschaine and Bobbi, inside the boy's body, were dancing with the girl. When she wrapped her hands around the neck.

Bobbi raised her hand to hold the girl's head, to pull her close. But her head burst apart, covering her face.

The next moment, she was alive again, kissing when Bobbi pushed against the wall, to kiss her when her body got crushed, bodied, mangled.

And the next moment, the two found themselves on a bar, looking at the group of people, sitting on the bar sofa, calling them to join. Looking at the same beautiful girl, with obvious expectations in her eyes. But the body shook its head, overflowing with sadness and loneliness. And pain as the other guy beside her put his hand on her shoulder. He pulled her in a side hug which she fought off, turning her head to explain. But all she found was the view of his back as he walked away, "the despair of not even being able to be with your first crush...losing her to another? That one stays with you whole your life. Especially when you were the one to push her away."

It changed again, as Bobbi found herself walking in a collage, listening to music, keeping to herself. And yet, she was able to hear all the whispers of everyone in the college. Just that was enough to overpower her mind, then. This guy came and took her hand, pulling her to a corner before he put a watch on her hand.

All of a sudden, the voices, the sounds, the smell, everything disappeared. Bobbi stopped suffocating, "you have powers, right? I have been overserving you! I have powers as well, though maybe not the same as you! My name is --"

Even though she had no idea what happened, the body moved, his feeling came to her, the joy, the smile on the lips, the words that escaped his mouth, "you are the stupidest person I have ever met. You just don't go and say that you have powers. Who does that!"

"I knew it! You have them! Tell me yours, and I'll tell you mine!" She could feel herself smiling as he put his hand around the neck, walking with her to the class.

But it was like this feeling was snatched away when she found herself in a study room, watching the guy thrash the things around.

She could feel the blood flowing from her cheeks; her hands were cut apart, there was still a burn mark on her hands as if someone had put burning metal on them.

"Why the hell would you let them torture you! They came after me; we both could have easily beaten them! Hell, you probably didn't even need to try to beat the shit out of them, then why?!"

Even though the air itself was tearing her body apart, Bobbi found herself smiling, "come on. It's not that bad. I can heal myself anything I want. You can't, so it's fair that I take the beating."

Her friend put his hands on the table, slumping his shoulders, talking in a low voice, "but you are not going to heal your wounds, are you? Because of how it would look odd, or someone might get suspicious?"

"It will heal...don't worry about it. Tell me you bought the DVD for the movie that I asked for? I have been waiting for too long!"

But the guy didn't answer. Instead, he looked up with determined eyes, "forget about that. Think about this, we have my father's resources, his company, our intelligence, real power! We can do anything! We can build an empire, create a country for people like us! No one would bully us. No one would beat upon us. You don't have to be so trapped, so scared of using your powers, to live in pain!"

Bobby stood up, with the body filled with pain, the sinking, and aching heart, "please don't say that? Let's just watch a movie, and we can get this over with."

"No, no, I am going to call my father. I said no when he wanted to use our powers and project to expand the company. But now I know this is the only way to protect ourselves! If this world is going to keep rejecting us, then I will build a world in my image, the one that appreciates us!"

He took the phone, turning around to call his father when she felt her body moving.

Her hand moved and made her friend turn to face her, hugging him, "thank you, thank you for everything."

Even though Bobbi felt a little happy, but his despair, ache, sadness was overpowering her. She felt flames spread from her hand, covering her friend's body, who fell on his knees, with a smile on his face, with tears in his eyes, "wiping my memory...? Heh...the moment I saw you...I knew...you were stupider than me."

He fell on his side, fainting, and the view changed again, with his waking up.

He hastily backed off, "Woah! What happened to you? Who are you? Why are you here? Did I sleep with your girlfriend, so you got here after beating up my guards to take revenge on me?"

She stood up, laughing, "that's a very precise situation, but no. You saved me...from a world of pain. But then you lost yourself for a moment. So I stayed here till you woke up. I should go now."

"No, wait, bro! You are hurt, stay, and I'll ask the family doctor to look at you? No questions asked!"

"Thank you, but I could never..."

"The despair of destroying the only person who gave a damn about you..."

Suddenly, everything broke apart, and Deschaine tried to raise his head about the spoke, "stop!! Please stop!! I don't want to see it anymore! I don't want to feel this anymore!"
