Announcement
Update (29/08/2023) : I started a complete revamp of Void Rifters, revising and polishing each chapter one by one. Since my writing style significantly improved over time, you might notice a great change in quality. I'll also use this occasion to remove all the outdated author notes and fix the typo.
The chapters that have been edited will be marked with a '|EDITED|' above their title. The current progress will be updated every ten or so chapters in the synopsis until completion.

Disclaimer :

Before you dive into Void Rifters, I've got a quick heads-up for you. You can skip it and directly jump to the prologue if you wish to, however, I would strongly advise you to read this short disclaimer so you know what you're getting into. (I promise, it's not long.)

First, mature content warning.

If you are uncomfortable reading mature content such as realistic depictions of gore during battles, explicit sex scenes, borderline and non political-correct ideologies, xenophobia/slavery between species, rough language/insults... Then this novel may not be for you.

No sugarcoating here ; I won't voluntarily worsen these controversial themes and write hardcore stuff just for the sake of it, but they will still be portrayed in a realistic manner as they unfold within the narrative.

Secondly, if you expect the cliché Japanese MC stereotypes like the naive and overly righteous Isekai hero who wants to save the world with his harem of beast girls and other dumbass waifus, or the spineless shonen MC who recruits his worst enemy to join his party after beating him up... Then this novel is even less for you.

I know many people enjoy these kinds of stories and I respect everyone's tastes, I truly do, but I would rather be held prisoner in a cold dungeon cell and forced to write 1,000 chapters of a junk cultivation novel than follow any of these clichés.

Back to Void Rifters.

The MC is multifaceted and dances to his own tune—he will display cunning and strategic planning, and won't hesitate to be ruthless when the situation requires it.

He can be considered neutral since he is a reasonable guy who won't harm innocents without any reason, however, it doesn't mean that he's intrinsically kind and always nice to others. He's not a villain, but he's definitely closer to an anti-hero who moves for his own benefit than a hero who is morally good.

For example, he won't hesitate to slaughter thousands of individuals, whether they are humans or not, if he's stuck in a dire situation with no other choices. The MC will always do everything he can to achieve his goals and protect his squad members, no matter the consequences.

Now, about the story.

The plot starts on Earth in a relatively short future, before quickly moving to another dimension (The Singularity), and then a completely different universe and world (Lunaris) in the second book.

Void Rifters is a mashup of dark sci-fi and medieval high-fantasy genres with a grimdark ambiance. Think of Lord of the Ring meeting Warhammer 40k, but sprinkled with my personal touch influenced by all the other novels of these genres I've read so far.

Sometimes the story will be dark and heavy, other times it'll be light-hearted and we'll have a laugh. My goal isn't to make you, the reader, feel uncomfortable, but I won't censor myself just to make you feel better either.

You can expect huge space battles, large-scale wars between countries, mythical creatures, political drama, and even a bit of romance à l'eau de rose here and there... But most importantly, a lot of blood will be spilled.

The first book describes the universes, the 2 opposite dimensions, and introduces the MC and his squad ; the fantasy part of the story starts from a different POV in chapter 7, and the transmigration comes in the second book from ch40.

Lastly, about the writing.

Despite being fluent, English is not my native language. I run my chapters through Grammarly and give them at least three rounds of edits before posting them, so there should be no grammatical mistakes.

Still, every once in a while (especially when I write at night) I may let a spelling mistake slide past editing, so please be indulgent. Don't hesitate to send me a message on Discord or post a comment under the chapter if you spot a mistake, so I can edit it later.

If you leave a review on any of the three sites I post this story on (I hope you'll do), please be honest in your evaluation and judge the story before all. You can't imagine how much help writers can get from their readers when they're engaged with the story. This direct link between the writer and the readers is possibly the best part of writing a web novel.

I am fully committed to presenting a story that is both captivating and immersive for you, the reader, so I really hope that you'll have an awesome experience reading Void Rifters.

I also hope you'll enjoy the story as much as I enjoy writing it.

Thanks for reading, and many more thanks to all the benevolent souls who support me on Patreon. You have my gratitude.
