After obtaining the scanner (lol), Rimu proceeded with her plan. She created an account on Syosetu1Syosetsuka ni Narou: https://syosetu.com/, a site where Japanese web novelists post their web novels.

She typed a name into the search bar and then pressed the enter button.

"Kurumin Eiz Lilicia Estenora Vinn Reia Sharuru Galadora Tur Alba De Altair The Thirteenth."

a.k.a Kurumin-sensei

This long-named author unexpectedly was one of the most successful writers a few years later. Her web novel got popular and she debuted as a light novelist with a huge fanbase. Her novels, [The Chronicles of Mad Villainess], would get a manga and an anime adaptation. Her annual income would reach millions of Yen.

Unfortunately, she didn't accept interviews, thus leaving her identity a mystery. The only thing the public knew was that this author was a she.

The reason she became famous was because of various factors. Kurumin-sensei's writing was as superb as her story was smooth, with properly plotted characters, unpredictable twists, and all of this was amplified by very skilled illustrator, Yasaka Sayo (alias). Yup, the "(alias)" thing was written next to her name, the reason was unknown.

Yasaka's illustrations were both cute and beautiful, able to portray all of the scenes perfectly. As an eroge character designer, Rimu had obviously studied her artwork and attempted to imitate it. And the results were a success.

Yasaka was just one of the several artists that Rimu had successfully studied. Combined with other artist’s styles, her drawing skills were heightened to near perfection.

It was too bad that Rimu's workplace was a rundown eroge company. Their games were riddled with bugs and cheesy scenarios, putting them at the bottom of the market. Her art skills alone were unable to change anything.

They might as well make a pure nukige2Game which prioritized sex scene as the main focus. Other aspects like plot and common sense could be ignored. instead. It would at least bring more money than another kusoge3Literary a game. Mediocre games known for their overall poor quality..

'Right now, Kurumin-sensei should still not have any connection with Yasaka. With my drawing skills now, I'm sure I can emulate her style, with a few improvements.'

If one asks about the advantage of a time traveler from the future, it would be the information they have in their time.

As in the old idiom, knowledge is power.

With this information from the future, any time traveler could change the world as they saw fit. This was why in a lot of time travel-themed novels, the protagonist would use their knowledge to the fullest. For example, gathering money.

What was the easiest way to collect money if you knew the future?

Lots of novel authors answered with making their MC plagiarize stuff. Especially popular novels, songs, or movies. Some authors made their MC play the lottery or trade on the stock exchange. With some authors even making their MC steal and kill.

Rimu rejected those ideas.

Plagiarizing future works... Unfortunately, she was not Zhang Ye4MC from the novel I Really Am Superstar . She didn't have eidetic memory or Zhang Ye's memory pills. She wouldn't be able to plagiarize 100% of the original works.

The author's state of mind, their motive during the creation of the work, was also not something Rimu could imitate. If she did that, it wouldn’t be long before people realized something was wrong as it wasn't hers, to begin with.

Lottery... She didn't bother to remember any lottery numbers in her entire life.

Stock Exchange... Where could a 10-year-old invest their pocket money into the stock exchange?

Stealing and Killing... Sorry, this is a lawful society, doing that is the same as courting death.

It's better to rely on methods that she can actually take responsibility for.

Rimu grinned,

'If I contact Kurumin-sensei first and become her illustrator, that would mean a steady income.
At least I wouldn’t have to worry about being jobless in the future.'

Hey, what about no stealing from others earlier? She was about to steal Yasaka's opportunity!

‘Hehe... First come first serve! That's the way of the world!
Opportunity is not property, so it doesn't count!’

Rimu opened Kurumin-sensei's novel and took a quick read. As she thought, her novel had no illustrations. She quickly took an empty A4 paper from her father's room and started sketching.

The novel didn't describe the characters in detail except their hair colors, and about them being good looking, beautiful, cool prince or whatever. But she had remembered how Yasaka illustrated them in the light novel version.

Easy peasy, don't underestimate a veteran eroge character designer. Drawing a mere novel character was child's play!

Rimu put the sketch into the scanner (lol) and used her smartphone to "scan" it. She copied the image to her mini-PC with Bluetooth to process it with an image editing software. There was no Photoshop for Raspberry OS, but she could replace it with GIMP.

After a few minutes, the artwork was complete. A colored portrait of a young blonde villainess sitting on her balcony, calmly sipping tea with a maid standing behind her.

Rimu uploaded the image and posted it on the author's user page. Not stopping yet, she also searches 3 more successful-to-be authors and did the same with their novels. She then created an advertisement in the form of a private message.

Rimu read her message once more before she pressing the send button. But something felt insufficient.

She revised her advertisement.

Rimu nodded satisfyingly. Without further ado, she clicked the send button.

'Yup, fan service is a must-have in the current entertainment industry.
Without it, everything feels like eating curry but without the spice. The taste is the same as chewing rubber!'

Riku called from outside their room, reminding her of the time,

"Rimu, how much longer do you want to play? Let's go to the bath."

"Un~ Wait a minute...!"

Rimu turned off her mini-PC and left her room.

'Now, all I have to do is wait.'

Raspberry Pi PC

That small green thing is the raspberry. Very cheap, about $35.
