[Luna POV]
Over the two days of waiting for Ophidia I was very busy. The first day I spent collecting the ruins beneath the island and the second day I dedicated to finishing my song for Tamamo. Ophidia returned late afternoon on the second day and she looked exhausted.
“I’m back…master.” (Ophidia)
“Welcome back. How was it?” (Luna)
“Fun, but the Greyt One was very strict.” (Ophidia)
“How long was it for you?” (Luna)
“Two years. He didn’t let me leave until my skills hit level five.” (Ophidia)
“What skills did he make you learn?” (Velvet)
“Brawling, martial arts, boxing, and dancing.” (Ophidia)
“I told him not to teach you anything weird.” (Luna)
“Dancing actually helps with movement, so I don’t think it’s that strange.” (Ophidia)
“Then maybe I should try and get that skill as well.” (Luna)
“He sent me with a message for you as well master.” Ophidia said as she handed me a letter.
[Hey Luna, I’ve finished drilling the basics into your follower’s head and got her skill up to mid-level. I also made her a D-rank adventurer, so you don’t have to worry about spending time ranking her up as a bonus. You don’t need to worry about any kind of compensation so just keep doing whatever you’re doing.]
“Well that makes things easier.” (Luna)
“What did he do, big sis?” (Soleil)
“He promoted Ophidia to a D-rank adventurer so that we don’t have to spend time doing that ourselves.” (Luna)
“Well that makes things easier.” (Velvet)
“Master, do you have what you promised?” (Ophidia)
“Of course.” I said as I pulled out a lot of grilled wyvern meat and presented it to Ophidia.
The second she saw everything, she immediately started to eat. At that moment I started to get drowsy.
“I guess it’s time. See you all tomorrow.” (Luna)
““Have fun.”” (Velvet and Soleil)
“Master?” (Ophidia)
“Can one of you explain, I don’t want to end up on the floor.” (Luna)
“That’s fine, just go to your room.” (Velvet)
I teleported myself to my room and laid down on my bed. When I closed my eyes, I instantly fell asleep. When I next opened my eyes, I saw a silver-leaved tree. I got up, but I didn’t see Tamamo anywhere.
“Tamamo?”
{I’m over here.}
I went over to where I heard her voice and found her sitting at a table with a lot of food piled on top of it.
{It’s my turn to conquer your stomach, Luna.}
“So, my heart isn’t enough?”
{It won’t be enough until I conquer your everything.}
“I see. I guess I need to start working on doing the same.”
{Ufufufu. Who’s the one leading the other on now.}
“It’s only fair.”
I sat down next to Tamamo, and she picked up some chopsticks.
{It’s my turn to feed you Luna.}
“I guess this is how the turn tables.”
Tamamo had a beautiful smile on her face as she fed me the delicious food she made.
{How is it?}
“Are you sure you’re not a god of cooking, because I think you must be.”
{I’m glad you’re enjoying it; I tried my best.}
“I can tell.”
When everything was finished, we moved to our favorite spot under the lunar sakura. My head was in Tamamo’s lap, and her tails were in my hands.
“Tamamo, your tails are starting to feel like mine. They’ve always been close, but now it’s starting to get hard to tell the difference.”
{Interesting. Maybe the Abyss of Fluff is accepting me.}
“But if I’m the Abyss of Fluff, then this should have happened a long time ago.”
{Then perhaps it’s because we get closer every time you come here.}
“Maybe. Now, let’s switch.”
Tamamo and I swapped places. She placed her head in my lap and I moved my four tails to a spot where she could hold, hug, and pet them.
{I still think I have a ways to go before I match this level of fluff. Honestly, I could just wrap myself in them and live in them.}
“Fufu. I just got a picture of a fairy sized Tamamo living in my tails.”
To solidify the image, I conjured an illusion of what I said and the Tama-fairy jumped into my tails like a swimming pool.
{How cute, but it’s only fair if I get a Luna of the same size.}
Tamamo conjured her own fairy sized illusion of me, and it did the same thing that my illusion did. Both of the illusions popped their heads out of our tails and saw each other. When that happened, they both made their way to each other and started hugging.
“I didn’t make it do that.”
{I didn’t either.}
We both cancelled the illusions and looked at each other.
{Ufufufufufu.}
“Fufufufufufu.”
{I guess even our illusory selves can’t help but be attracted to each other.}
“I can understand how they feel.”
{Same.}
We sat in a comfortable silence when I decided to sing a little. I started out with some songs that I remembered from my past. I started with ‘All of Me.’ When I finished that song, I started to sing ‘A Sky Full of Stars.’ After that one, I moved on to ‘Fly Me to the Moon.’
“Those were a few songs I could remember and fit the mood we have right now.”
{Wonderful. On that note, how has the song you said you were writing turned out?}
“Listen and tell me what you think.”
“♪Silver, Gold, shine in the night
Stare at the stars as they shimmer with the moon
Fear noooooot the daaaaaaark, fear noooooot the night, the light of silver and goooooold
Stare up aaaaaaand wonder, stare up aaaaaaaaand count, as the stars shimmer, the moon simmer
Woah, one will wait to touch another, woooooah how long till we are with one another
Under the light of silver and gold, the moon and the staaaaaaaars
Lay down oh child, lay down oh friends, star into the night with silver and gold♪"
When I finished singing this song, I looked down at Tamamo. She had a pleasing smile on her face and tears in her eyes like the first time I showed her stars.
{It was beautiful, Luna.}
“Thank you. I have two more, but I don’t think we have the time for me to sing them to you tonight.”
{How unfortunate, but there’s always next time.}
Tamamo sat up and wiped her eyes. She then took me into her arms and gave me a deep kiss. I reciprocated and we stayed like that until my body started to glow and I was returned to my room. I stayed sprawled on my bed with a smile on my face and a content feeling in my heart.
Author's Note:
I feel like I should apologize for posting this late, but it's actually a decent time for me instead of stupid o'clock in the morning.
Atmos: Then just don't mention anything. By the way, that song was lovely.
I know right. There are two more that were suggested and I have them in saved so I can use them in the future.
Atmos: Very good, I can't wait for them to show up.
If that's how you feel, then I can't wait for Tamamo's reaction.
Atmos: I agree. By the way, do you know what's up with Tamamo's tails becoming equal to Luna's in Fluff levels?
It's just as it was said, the closer the two of them get, the fluffier the both of them get.
Atmos: So it's not just Tamamo?
Of course not.
Atmos: I'm starting to fear for the world. If Luna's Abyssal Fluff gets any fluffier, then the fluff spirits that are starting to appear might start causing problems.
You don't need to worry about that, if anything it will make the world a better place.
Atmos: Are you ok? Your eyes are a bit glazed over.
What are you talking about Atmos? Do you doubt the fluff? That is something that needs to be fixed.
Atmos: Now wait. Why are there so many great fluff spirits in here? Where did they come from? LUNAAAA! HELP!
It's too late Atmos. She can't hear you.
Atmos: NOOOOOOooooo.........THEY'RE SOOO FLUFFY!
Thanks for singing the song I suggested, Luna! Also... Payto? are you ok? Do you have a clear mind? You were a bit scary here attacking Atmos like that. I hope she's ok. Maybe you should talk with Luna a bit. Hey Luna! Can you read this? Maybe check Payto's status and maybe help him out a bit! He isn't really himself and may cause damage all around! This could have severe consequences! Please help him out!
I am fine now.
@Paytoechip You're sure? You still seem a bit out there...
Where is Atmos? Is she still between all those- oh she's sleeping. fuuu..... But.... Where did all those spirits go?
Do you know where they-*I turn around and see all the spirits around Payto* oh, here they are.*sigh* So, what are you gonna do with them? I don't know where they came from but you will put them away, right?
...
...
Payto? Hey, you ok? You're looking at me weird.... haha come on, stop looking at me like that. please? Hey, why are those spirit looking at me weird? And why are they slowly approaching me? Payto, What's going on?!
@Clayton4956 Join us in the comfort of the Abyss.
@Paytoechip No! Wait, hold on! You're not yourself right now! Oh, fudge it! *I run in direction to Atmos while the spirits are getting faster as the seconds go by*
*I close the door from the living room*
(Maybe shaking her a bit will not wake her up, but it's still worth a try)
*I slide on my knees and after grabbing Atmos by the shoulders, I shake her while sometimes looking briefly behind me.*
Come on Atmos! Wake up! It's not the time to sleep now! Come on!
Atmos: heeee? shtop shakin me greeeey! I didn' do nothnin! *I shake her more* Shtoohoohoohoohoop!
She's done for. f*ck.
*I leave her in the living room and I go through a door leading me in a hallway*
Boom!
*I hear laughter while the door got destroyed*
*I close this door and search in my head for what could possibly be the enemy of the fluff*
*facepalm* WATER!
*I leave the door for just some seconds and hundreds of dogs flow in the hallway* OH COME ON THERE'S MORE NOW?!
*I look for the bathroom and find it after opening two other rooms*
WHERE'S THE SHOWER?! THERE!
*I rush to the shower, take the shower head and open the current at maximum.*
COME AT ME YOU FLUFFY CANINES!
*Surprisingly, the water comes out like water flowing out of a broken dam*
HAHAHAHAHAHA! WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!
*Many spirits go through the water and get to me but as they are wet, their fluff is incredibly reduced, making it near harmless*
(Did something like this happened before?)
*At some point, the dogs stopped coming, making it safe to go out. I try to not step on them as they are everywhere and they are dripping wet. They're not trembling, don't worry. I'm not that cruel. The water was at a good temperature.*
Hey! Payto! You good?!
*no responses. I go through the hallway and into the kitchen were Payto was before all this. He seems calm, but his eyes are devoid of any emotions.*
Well, only one option.
*I take a pot and fill it with cold water.*
I'm sorry, but I think you need this, more than the dogs.
*I pour all the water on Payto's head, making him briefly scream.*
@Clayton4956 What happened? Why am I wet?
@Paytoechip (he doesn't remember huh?)
Well, let me show you. I think you will understand the situation better if I show you.
*I show to Payto the broken door, the sleeping Atmos in the living room, the hallway and bathroom filled with wet fluff spirits and water.*
I think you can understand, but I'll say it anyway. You lost to the Abyss fluff somehow and summoned all those spirits, making Atmos your first target for them and then me after checking if everything is ok. You see the result. And sorry for pouring water on you, I didn't want you to be still in trance.
@Clayton4956 I see. Guess I need to make a containment room for fluff spirits, the world isn’t ready for them yet. And don’t mention it, thanks for helping.
@Paytoechip No problem. But, and it's the thing that saved me honestly, why does the water come out with nearly the same pressure as a pressure washer at maximum in the shower?
Wait,............ was it a prank from Atmos?
@Clayton4956 Probably.
@Paytoechip should be fine if you limit how close to each other the fluff spirits can be
@Paytoechip Well, I could see her do that. Where will you put that containment room for all those spirits? Hopefully not here. I don't want you to suddenly fall in the abyss again. It may also be a good idea to talk to Luna and Tamamo about this. Luna doesn't want to rule the world, but those spirits will do it for her regardless, it seems. And in the wrong hands, it could go even worse.
So, what are you going to do now. Any ideas?
*While talking, I go in the bathroom, take a towel in a cabinet and throw it lightly to Payto.*
Catch!
@Clayton4956 Thanks. I was going to put it next to the Atmos isolation room, but that’s probably a bad idea so I’ll just make them their own space. When Luna gets full access to her space authority she can figure out what to do from there.
@Paytoechip Cool. Does it take time for you to make that containment room? Because if it doesn't, you can make a portal to there and I can help you put all those spirits in it if you want. For now I'll just put Atmos on the couch in the living room. I don't think a nap on the floor is the best thing for her. Then I'll put all those spirits in that big bathtub you have in the here. It won't fit all of them, but at least they are all in one place. Do you have a broom closet or something here? I'll clean the floor in the hallway too if you don't mind.
@Clayton4956 Two door down and on the left. Thanks for the help. As for the room, it won’t take even five minutes.
@Paytoechip Good. Well, let's get started!
*I move some of the fluff spirits in the bathtub, making a path in the hallway, then through the hallway to the living room. There, Atmos is sleeping carelessly on the floor.*
*sigh* Sometimes, I wonder where is that dignity of yours.
*I take Atmos in a Princess carry and put her on the couch. I then put a cushion under her head.*
(She's going to thank me later, even I know how bad is a hurting neck with back pain.)
*In the hallway on my way to the broom closet, I pass next to the bathroom and see Payto in front of the bathtub. Some white and golden lights are surrounding him with a blue hue.*
(Making the portal in the bathtub, huh. I see the usefulness. I have to admit though, magic is truly beautiful.)
*Passing two doors and on the left side wall, I open the door there and take the cleaning supplies.*
Luckily, it's not a carpet floor here, so this will be easy.
*I go and put the supplies next to the nearest spirit when I hear a heavy VWOOM. And then I hear Payto call. I go in the bathroom and see an empty bathtub with blue light coming out of it. I stand next to Payto and see a big playground with some emerald plains with bushes and trees with some rocks a bit everywhere through the portaltub.*
Wow that's big! And in such a short time! Damn. Also, the playground was a good idea. We wouldn't want them to think they need get out if they have everything they need in there.
@Clayton4956 True. Who knows they may never want to leave.
@Paytoechip At least we won't have any problems any time soon.
*I take three or four spirits depending on their size and I drop them in the portaltub. Payto on the other hand, makes them float to the portaltub and drop them in. They then slowly fall in the playground and dry themselves in the heat of the possible sun. We look at the room from above so I don't know if Payto put some sky in there. I also see the border of the plain.*
(Is it a floating island?)
Hey Payto, I just noticed, you made them a floating island, right? I can see light from somewhere. Did you put a sun? did you also put a night/day cycle? I think they should adapt to a sleep cycle matching Luna's world.
@Clayton4956 All done. Now we can just wait for future Luna to take care of everything else.
@Paytoechip let's hope everything goes well. I'll clean the hallway and you fix that broken door in the living room?
@Clayton4956 Payto?
*no reply* Looks like he went somewhere. Oh well.
*I clean then dry the hallway. A light smell of lavender filled the room when I finished. I decide to also do the bathroom, so everything is clean.*
*When I finished everything, Payto still wasn’t back. So, I decide to write a note and I put it on the fridge.*
“The hallway and bathroom are done. I put all the cleaning supplies back in their place. Atmos is still sleeping. You might want to look at her. I’ll be going!”
And then, I was gone.
