Inside the branch Mu Manor.

Mu Bai, his mother and his uncle Mu He were sitting on a dinning table together.

The servants were serving them dinner.

“Mu Bai, the annual examination is just in 4 days now.” Mu He spoke as he reminded his nephew.

“Yes Uncle! I remember the date properly.” Mu Bai responded.

“Hehe~ our Mu Bai will ace the tests as always~” His Mother said while looking proud and Confident.

“Jeez Mum, of course I will!” Mu Bai said while smiling like a kid.

Mu Bai at home and school was quite different. He had a lot of hubris at school and at home he was just like a little kid. 

“You have to know that our Mu Family will distribute a few cultivation resources to some of the young disciples. The distribution is based on the contribution of their family and the cultivation grades of the young disciples. You have to work hard for this branch family of yours that has almost been forgotten by the Mu Family.” Mu He said.

An unholy amount of notification alert arrived all at once.

All three of them were startled by it. Mu Bai quickly picked up his Phone and noticed a tweet which Lu Xiaobing made on tweeter.

It was retweeted 1500 times in five minutes with lots of hate comments about killing a guy and a goddess being defiled.

Mu He and his mother got curious as they both got up from their chairs and peeked into Mu Bai’s phones.

Mu Bai quickly clicked on the image. Thinking who was the unlucky guy. When suddenly his eyes literally widened to the point where his eye balls were clearly visible. 

He saw that dreg faggot Mo Fan holding hands with Tang Yue while happily entering towards their dorm. 

Mu He who was also peering into the photo was left with the same reaction.

“Ah? Isn’t he that adorable rascal Mo Fan, who used to come to our house to play when he was just a kid. I see~ he has grown out to be quite a hunk. No wonder he has such a beautiful girlfriend~ But I see he finally got over Xiao-xue (Little Ningxue) huh.” She said while smiling.

“Mum that girl with him is my beloved teacher” Mu Bai answered his mother while angrily looking at his phone.

He was fuming in anger. He had set his sights on her first! When did this dreg conquered her! No how did he conquered her?!

“Oh is it that Pretty teacher Tang Yue that you keep talking about? Oh my~ Xiao Bai he beat you to the punch then~ you have to be assertive with girls or else others will snatch them away you know!” She said while smiling at him. 

_That little punk (Mo Fan) who used to always cling to my skirt when he was so small! Look at him now! That lady-killer... Oh in today’s Slang was it Chick Magnet?_ She happily mused in her thoughts as she ate her food.

Mu He on the other end was also surprised but he quickly returned to his normal state, as he could use this to kick him out of the school. He have to involve that new teacher too but it can’t be helped after all I now have proof of relationship between a student and teacher!

He can use that photo however he liked! Because he also have witness.

He had long wanted to get rid of Mo Fan from his school, now that he had their house/Land he had no reason to keep that garbage in his prestigious school. He was waiting for the annual examination to kick him out. Now he also had two valid reasons. One is his negligence towards studies and other is adultery with a teacher!

Mu Bai was beyond Jealous, he wanted to burn Mo Fan to death! He started typing on the phone as he posted a comment.

‘I know who he is! He is a first year student, His name is Mo Fan, the dreg of Class 8 who can’t even control a single star’

It was Mu Bai who had posted this comment. He will end Mo Fan socially first and then kick him out of the school so he won’t get a job in the future with bad school remark.

He absolutely wanted to ruin Mo Fan for this.

Mo Fan brought Tang Yue to his room and quickly locked the door, as he was scared that someone might enter suddenly. 

“So what did you wanted to show me?” Tang Yue asked while grabbing her hand which Mo Fan held.

“Ah sorry, was I holding it to roughly?” Mo Fan said as he noticed her little gesture.

He thought he might’ve hurt her delicate hand while bringing her here.

“No, it’s fine” she shook her head.

“Here apply it.” Mo Fan said as he took out an Ice pack from the fridge as he gave it to her.

She took note of his kind gesture and used it for while so as to not hurt him.

“So? What now?” She asked again.

“Ah right, please sit anywhere you like, I will take it out now.” Mo Fan said as he smiled warmly at her. 

He had already thought of what he was going to do.

He bent down and took out a small suitcase. Tang Yue who was sitting on his bed was also looking intently at what he was doing.

There were 50 Black Papers inside the suitcase. To be more precise they were...

“Talismans!” Tang Yue exclaimed and was surprised.

“Sealing Talismans to be more precise.” Mo Fan said as he remembered mid way that they were used to seal the soul essence of the warrior class beast. So they might be of some use to her Is what he thought.

“You do remember that I said my pendant ate a soul essence right? These Talismans were used to seal the door leading to it.”

“They are made from Darkness essence!” She quickly probed them with her will.

“Their energy is exhausted but the darkness essence is still inside them!” Tang Yue said to Mo Fan as she was surprised.

“Ms. Tang Yue, Can you please not confiscate my pendant, in exchange you can have these Talismans.” Mo Fan said as he bowed to her sincerely.

She stared at Mo Fan for a while before being honest with him.

“Indeed these Talismans are very useful to me as my Secondary Element is Shadow. But Mo Fan you’re still just a kid and you are still WEAK! Are you sure you’re able to protect your pendant, from threats like... per say... Black Vatican? Or any other Mage who comes to know the truth about it?” Tang Yue asked seriously. As what she was saying was simply Facts.

Mo Fan bit his lip as he heard her sound arguments with a pained expression. He had to admit that he is too weak and the close encounter he had with Black Vatican almost killed him even when they were not there anymore.

Tang Yue may not be strong now since she was still a teen, but her background was formidable. Her Father-like Uncle was the Chairman of Lingyin Enforcement Union who governs all of Hangzhou and he was also a Great Full Forbidden Mage of The Dongfang Oriental Tower. Plus as an extra she also had her Grandfather/Senior like existence, the terrifying Black Totem Snake – Supreme Monarch Class. Nobody in this world would dare to touch her, not even the Black Vatican can carelessly make a move on her. That’s why she was so daring! 

She was the treasured Princess of Hangzhou! She grew up in an environment without parents, but she was never alone, she had so many people of the enforcement union looking after her.

She could easily hide that pendant until Mo Fan grows up, and then give it to him.

But could he protect himself if the other’s come to know of the existence of his so called Little Loach?

The answer was obviously NO.

Tang Yue was surprised to hear this reply. As she was about to say something, Mo Fan quickly placed his hand on her mouth to cover it up again!

“I know what you want to say, but this is the only way through which I will get stronger quickly. Ms Tang Yue I saw something I shouldn’t see and because of it I almost died once. I finally realized that only our strength can make ourselves have a sense of security even inside the city. I learned that there are many Magical beasts scattered inside the city. With many people getting eaten up. 

I don’t want to be one of them nor do I want my family and friends to be one of them as well. My Little Sister Xinxia cannot walk and My Aunt & Father are normal people. Not even one of them is a Mage, so they cannot defend or fight against Magical Beast like I can. I know you’re worried about me, but the only way I can become stronger quickly is through this. Ms. Tang Yue I’m quite different from other mages, I can’t tell you my secret yet but you’ll come to know about it future anyway. I need little loach because of my innate talent! It’s rather troublesome” Mo Fan said his true feelings adamantly as he really didn’t wanted to part with little loach.

Tang Yue listened to him till the end without interrupting him.

She was actually curious about some exciting statements he said but she didn’t cut him off in the middle.

She wanted to know more about what had happened with him to make him feel this way.

His thinking was mature and not suited to someone his age at all. The people of his age would rather think about worthless stuff. But he was thinking far ahead into the future. 

Mo Fan had his share of close calls with death in this year. So he knew how dangerous this world is even inside the safe zone. Not to mention his Father is literally on the borders of the safe zone doing risky delivery jobs and his Sister was disabled! She couldn’t walk, if she encountered a Magical beasts it was game over with no retry.

He wanted to leave this city as soon as possible. The emergence of 50 tunnels connecting the outside of safe zone, inside the sewers was already pretty terrifying.

“I want to leave this City as soon as possible with my family. As soon as I complete my High school I will go to some big cities and live there. I don’t want to stay in this Decaying City.”

Decaying City?!

She was startled by his words. 

“What do you mean by it?” Tang Yue asked seriously.

“.... Haha... It will be on news soon enough, so I don’t even need to explain it to you!” Mo Fan said laughing wryly while looking down.

“Ms. Tang Yue for some reason I feel like your someone with a special identity. I’m pretty sure you can read between the lines more easily than me.” Mo Fan said as he looked at Tang Yue.

He was trying to say indirectly that some major force was involved with the causes behind decaying of this city. Though Tang Yue will come to know about it on a later date of what he was actually implying.
