Beast Aspect

 

After Analyzing the wall and focusing on it for a while I understand that I can't get into it but then I remember the first time I Analyzed the Lockpicking skill. Higher levels can pick Magical Locks.

I understand how basic Magical Locks work now but it's still not enough.

I get it now. It is a lot like a normal lock with its pins and tumblers. It is like someone has wrapped something in an endless amount of string and the string has several parts inside the ball of mess that are just slightly out of place, I think it is coded to a person magic power so it would most likely be the same as if they were the key, all they would have to do is just channel magic power but I have to touch those tiny places in the ball of mess without touching any of the other string.

 

I calm myself a little and focus the Magic Power in myself. I haven't really messed with it much yet so I can't do anything complicated but what it requires me to do is something I have been doing since I woke up here. I need to thin my Magic Power, I do it all the time with Stealth but this time I need to squish it down even further, I need it to leave my body at the smallest it can possibly go, further, smaller, tinier. Eventually I sort it out and wrangle my way through the ball of mess touching all the necessary spots.

The wall changes into a door, a normal wooden door. It's out of place in this extravagant room but I pick the normal lock and enter. After navigating through a Magic lock, a normal one seems like nothing.

 

I open the door and find an almost empty room. Small. Maybe 4mx4m. A single cabinet in the room with a silver bracelet on top of it. I check the inside of the cabinet but it's empty. I finally get to the point and Analyze the bracelet.

It seems to have two Identities but I guess I see both. I put the bracelet on only to discover it has another lock. I go to unlock it but when I focus my Magic power I see a giant mess of wires maybe 20 times bigger and more complicated then the door. 

 

As I am about to give up my Intuition focuses me to a tiny area in the ball. It is smaller in scale compared to the massive ball but if I focus harder I can see a tiny ball contained in the massive ball near the center. It's maybe 50 times smaller than the door lock. It's so small I would have never noticed it. I can see it isn't a lock. It has the same pattern of spots as both the door lock and the bracelet lock but it isn't a lock. I insert my magic power to one of those spots, it takes an extremely long time to get there but I do. I push one of the spots needed to unlock a normal lock and the big ball follows suit. I touch all the spots and then nearly fall over from shock.

A very weird sounding voice sounds but I regain my calm and do as I'm told. I panicked because I thought someone would hear but the voice resounded in my mind. I channeled my Magic Power and instead of a voice a Menu opened up. A Lot like my Quest List.

I scroll through but it is mostly Money, Weapons and Files. I see an arrow on the edge of the screen so I focus on it and the screen swaps.

It seems to be for the Auto-Equip function. I move onto the next screen but it is pretty simple.

Well it doesn't matter, I can sort through it later. I put the bracelet on and leave the room, locking the door behind me. I take the same path I entered through and head towards the guild. I don't know how much is counted as Criminal Evidence by the quest but I guess I'll see when I drop it off. 

 

I arrive at the guild and it is moderately busy, not many Adventurers at the quest boards or reception, they seem to be at the shop or the bar. Civilians seem to be at reception making requests. I ignore them and head towards the room we used before to talk to Sam. It's empty but that's what I want. 

 

I get the feeling the files are needed so I use the 'Thought Keyword' and think 'Summon Files Labelled : Slaves Sold' and a pile of paper appears on the table. I 'Summon' all of the files and after filling almost half of a table that can sit 12 people it stops. I scroll through the list of objects and my Intuition stops me.

I pull it out and it looks just like the crystal ball that the guild used. It seems to be an item that can swap your Soul Record to a prearranged one. After pulling it out and placing it on the table my body starts to itch and twist. My head feels like it's stretching, My back feels like it is pulling everything to my shoulder blades, my lower back feels like something is coming out. I kneel on the ground before I see something pop up

And with that all of the weird feelings stop. I put my hand on my head to make sure I am ok but there's something there. It feels a little like what I saw on that lady I met today, a Cat-kin if I remember. I Analyze myself in a hurry. It seems I have become a Beast-kin. Analyzing my body never gave information apart from my Status before and even now I only get the general term Beast-kin. It told me the lady earlier today was a Cat-kin so I have no idea. 

 

I pat myself down and it seems I have wings and a tail now along with my ears being changed. I Analyze Beast Aspect in my Menu and it says that I can add or alter body parts at will for a short amount of time. After some more time Analyzing it over and over it comes up with an explanation. Apparently a long time ago a Human was granted this skill by God and he used it to breed and he created the various Beast-kins known today. Beast-kins can be born without their animal traits but if they work hard at leveling some acquire the Beast Aspect skill and along with the power to change their body for small amounts of time it also unlocks your dormant animal traits permanently. It seems this has happened to me.

 

After a little thinking I have accepted it. It seems weird and scary but what hasn't been weird and scary since I woke up the other day. After playing around with my body a little it seems I can control my tail a little and wings to some extent. The wings will need practice but they will be handy in the future. My shirt is torn up from the wings forming so I get a new one from my bag and put it over my wings. My tail feels uncomfortable under the skirt but I'll fix that later.

 

Now that's sorted I need someone to collect this evidence. I have a feeling I'll be targeted again if I reveal myself so I decide to keep Stealth on and alert the guild to the evidence. I pull back my arm… Bam!! I punch the door to the second floor hallway as hard as I can. After waiting a little, I did it again. Bam!! The door bends a little and splinters separate from the door.

 

"Who the hell is in here?!" Somebody comes in and scans the room, seeing no one he calms down but soon raises an eyebrow and leaves the room. I realize that if they need anything else from the bracelet they won't know it's me so I find mostly empty paper, take out a pen and write it down. 

 

"I wish to remain anonymous but shall you need anything set a No Rank No Reward Request for Void."

 

I put it on top of the files and waited in the corner again. Eventually the man from before comes in with the Guildmaster.

 

"Like I told them earlier, several people heard a noise and when I got here I saw all of these papers. Since you were here earlier I thought they were yours." The guildmaster approaches the papers and sees my note.

 

"It seems like we have been helped for something. Let me see…" He picks up a few papers from different stacks before opening his eyes wide. "Get several of our most trusted workers in here to sort through this, send an urgent message to the guild headquarters and the prime minister, tell them we have enough evidence to put away Lord Sharsa." The helper opens his eyes wide and mumbles something but the guildmaster shuts him up. "Now! And not a word of this to anyone unless you want to lose your head." He runs out of the room in a panic.
