Morality
It has been a week since I settled down in the forest by the elves and I have finally realized something… Elder is teaching me but I never figured out why. He has taught me about the history of the world. How normal kingdoms work. How the Elves work. I just listened because it was interesting but I never thought he was doing it purposefully. Tomorrow will be my third day with the Elves so I should prepare some questions. He has been teaching me generic things but there are a few things I want to know.
Today should also be the day I have been working towards.

I’ll finally be able to purchase Skills again and I'll also be able to increase the size of the Void Bracelet. Hopefully I don't have to wear two item bracelets anymore. Even Scouts Item Bracelet is getting pretty full now that I have been storing the valuable parts of monsters I have been killing since I got here. Maybe after tomorrow I’ll fly to the nearest Guild and sell off all my parts.
As I’m preparing to leave I sense one of the Elves coming so I wait a little for him to arrive. I decide to pull a prank when he gets closer. The second before he sees me I activate Stealth and sneak around behind him.
“Huh? I could have sworn…” Tap tap tap. I tap his shoulder and he jumps in surprise and backs away.
“Hey Saymo. How's it going?” Saymo is the Elf that came to my camp on the first day here.
“Damn it Yui. One of these days I’m going to sense you coming and scare the hell out of you.”
“I’d like to see that. So? What’s your business?”
“The Elder wants you to come to Town today. He has to have a trip to one of the kingdoms tomorrow so he wants to talk to you before he goes.”
“Oh. That's fine.” Damn I was hoping to complete my Points and Void today but I guess it can wait. “Wanna walk together?” Saymo agrees so we walk back. It seems he wants tips about Stealth so I tell him a few things from the Scouts book. Eventually we make it back to town and I head to the Elders house. Once I come to his dining room as usual he appears.
“Good morning Yui. Sorry for having called you today. We have sensed a few too many humans in our woods lately so I am going to the King to form an official protest. It’ll take a few days so I figured we have another lesson before then.”
“That's ok. I actually have a couple of questions that I'd like to ask today.”
“That's fine. It's better to learn about what you are interested in.”
“First. I want to know about why you are so interested in teaching me.”
“I figured that would happen eventually. We were asked by the Grand Spirit of the World Tree.”
“Oh.” I like all the Elves here. If they were asked to teach me maybe I can ask him about things I’m keeping secret so I understand them better. “I want to know about Bad Guy Jobs. It all seems extremely ambiguous. You can be a good person and have a bad guy job or have a good person job as a bad guy.”
“Well, The thing with Jobs is that they were never meant to define morality. Humans just tend to classify them that way. Humans are weak creatures so they get scared easily. They see anything that looks slightly dangerous and they focus all their efforts on destroying it and anything around it. Jobs are nothing but a way to manipulate your Status growth. It defines which Stats go up and by how much.” That makes so much sense.
“So you can be an Assassin and not be Evil?” He nods to me. The Old Man took it pretty well so I figured I’d show Elder as well. I take out the book and hand it to him. “This is one of the reasons I came out here. I showed this to the Old Man and he told me what I told you the day I got here.”
He sighs and starts to read the book. I read one of my own until eventually he finishes the first part.
“I can remove the enchantment on it if you want.” I shake my head. “Fine. Well I see why you came out here. You have the Assassin Job?” I nod. “It will definitely have the same effect as this man if you make your Job public but judging from your introductions you're not one right now.” I nod again. “Then what's the problem?”
“I want to be an Assassin. I like killing bad guys and although fighting them from the front is fun, I like getting the first 2 to 5 kills without being noticed first.”
“2 to 5!? Nevermind. If you want to be an Assassin I’m not going to stop you. I'm only here to help you learn about how the world works. You can make your own decisions on how you want to live your life. Don't let the pitiful Humans tell you what to do. I think this Old Man you speak of felt the same. You can be an Assassin if you want but you need to be able to live out in the open as well. If you hide in the dark all of your life then your life will become dark as well, I feel this was the message this Assassin fellow who wrote the book was trying to get across. He was too weak to come into the light after sinking into the dark after his betrayals. You need to be decisive and not fall into the same traps as he did.” I think about it for a little. Grrrr. He summed up everything I have been thinking since I left. I'm too stupid to do all his thinking stuff.
“Hahaha. I can tell what you are thinking about. Not to worry Yui. You are only a few weeks old and I am an old fart who has been alive for several hundred years. Things like this tend to flow easily out of the mouths of old farts like me and the other Elders.” His smile fades though. “What I have to give you a proper lesson on is the concept of Morality. Good and Bad. Right and Wrong. Again this is something that I can only teach you the general concept of. Everybody has different views of what right and wrong is. Like before, Humans think being an Assassin is wrong, Elves don't. Elves see kidnapping as Evil, a lot of Humans don't. Beastkin thinks fighting everyone around them is Good but Humans see that as Evil. You need to figure out where your lines are.”
“Since you chose the path of the Assassin you need to figure out how far you want to take it. You chose this path primarily to kill bad guys. How bad do they need to be before you kill them? Will you kill someone because they littered the streets? Will you kill someone for making fun of you? A lot of people chose a path much like yours. You decide the fate of those who have crossed you. You must have a firm set of rules to be able to judge fairly and not lose yourself in the power of having the ability to end lives so easily. You have the power to end lives but you have to remember why you chose this path in the first place. Why did you choose this path? If I may.”
“I woke up in a jail cell. I was new then, didn’t even have Analyze. People were dying all around me, blood was all around me. I was so scared. I begged and pleaded to escape but I didn't understand anything back then. Eventually when it was my turn. The System gave me the power to Hide. The System gave me the power to Escape. The System gave me the power to Kill. The System saved me.” Woah. I have never called it that before. Hmm. “Anyway, I killed everyone that was involved because The System told me to. I didn't really understand back then but now I do. It told me to because I wanted to. I want to kill people who make people feel like I did. Even more if they enjoy it.”
“Then that’s what you need to do. Just don't kill people because you suspect. Make sure you investigate and understand everything. I can teach you how you learn all of the Investigation related skills.”
“No need. I don't get Skills the same way everyone does.”
“Then how do you learn Skills?”
“Remember the Necklace I received from the World Tree?”
“Ah yes. World Trees Grace. I'm so jealous.”
“Well this helps me get Skills. The necklace uses the Magic that overflows from my natural regeneration to form Magic Stones. I can use these Magic stones and other ones I find to gain Points. Using these Points I can buy them from a list. I can also get them from doing Quests The System gives me.”
“Well. I think it's time to show you our garbage heap.”
“Hey Saymo. How's it going?”

Finally finished~ now waiting for more, and about the parallel novel, I don't think is a good idea, it could lead you to being overwhelmed and losing the whill to write, but I still would read anything you write, your work is awesome
Bad idea! Better concentrate on this one and post others as slow as your current schedule allow it...( better yet, don't do it until you are nearly finished with this one first.)
Multi tasking when you just started will be detrimental to you in the long; been there done that.
Hahaha. Don't worry. I write a new novel every week. These few that I have written have already gotten to the length this novel has, I just need to edit them.
