A heap of Points

 

Elder leads me to a room under his house, once I enter the room I almost lose focus in my eyes. 

 

“T-that's a lot of Magic Stones…” There is a room about 2 meters by 2 meters and it's piling up over 1 meter high all the way to the walls.

 

“Well I wasn't kidding when I said garbage heap. Monsters around the World Tree tend to lose strength so it is easier to kill them. I used to keep a few for my trips into the Human kingdoms but once everyone found out they started giving them to me. I can't even sell them all since I so rarely go. You can take as many as you want just leave… say… a handful for me.”

 

“Are you sure?”

 

“Yeah. Honestly it takes up this room as you can see. I have been working on a spell to diffuse them into the atmosphere or channel them into the World Tree or something but I’m a little too busy to be researching Magic. I get rid of my trash and you gain something you need. Win, win.”

 

“Thanks.”

 

“No problem. Also, don't think too hard about the stuff we talked about earlier. If you ever really need direction in life, stop, take a few deep breaths, think about it for a minute and you’ll probably have your answer. If not, talk to someone. You're always welcome with the Elves and with your wings we are never too far away.”

 

“Thank you. I’ll think it over properly while you're gone.”

 

“Indeed. I'll be gone for a few days this time so if you have any free time can you check on the outer villages. Humans are being extra stupid at the moment. Anyway, take your time here and I'll see you later.” I affirm him and am about to get started when I think about the distribution. After realizing that I am lucky when I see a few C-Rank stones, I get started.

When I saw this room, I was like ‘Yay, I can get a few Points but now… I… don't know what to do. I can't… I feel too guilty using all of these. I see now that I have 1050 Points and I haven't even started using any stones on the Void Bracelet. After extending the Capacity of the Bracelet a few times and unlocking one Function and one Equipment Set there is still almost a third of the room left. This is enough for me. I feel like I'm doing something bad taking all this. I leave the room and the house quickly while still feeling like I have done something bad.

 

After flying away from the town I shake off the weird feelings I'm left with and think about how to use my Points. I think I should max out the skills I have and save the 1000 Points for Points List 2 like I said I was going too. As much as I want to just buy all the Skills available to me, something gives me the feeling that it's a bad idea. After flying around randomly for a while I land and check my Status. A smile creeps over my face as I get to hear my favorite sounds.

I feel a sense of power wash over me. I should do this more often. It feels amazing. Well now that I've focused on Skills that make me a better fighter now it's time for something I have wanted to do for ages.

Muahahahaha! Now I won’t be so stupid when it comes to understanding things!! I activate Fast Thinking first to see the effect. Eh? It almost seems like there is something off in the world. I Analyze the Skill again and it just says it makes thinking faster. Hmmmm. I activate Parallel Thought since I don’t understand. Huh? I don't seem smarter? This Skill is meant to make it easier to think about more things at the same time. I decided to put a few more Points in them since I can't make out the difference.

Woah. Now I can tell the difference. It seems time has slowed down a little bit. I go to grab a piece of grass that's floating past me but I realize that my body is moving slower. Right. Just my thinking… Damn I fully thought it would make me smarter but this is just the same stupid in a slower world. This time!!

Huh? Suddenly my head feels clearer than a second ago. Woah. This definitely makes it easier to think. I actually do feel less stupid but it feels more like I was walking through a bush and then all of a sudden some branches got moved out of the way for me making it easier o traverse. As I relish in the feeling, my head slowly gets heavier. I checked over my skills again and it seems that Fast Thinking is a semi-active Skill. It can activate on its own when it's needed but it seems to take mental power to keep going.

That feels good. It feels a lot clearer now. Easier to think about things. I check to see what my Status looks like now.

Nice. I'm looking forward to what happens when I can finally unlock Points List 2. 

 

I spend the rest of the day flying around feeling the freedom, detecting and reporting any Humans I see with my new extremely long range Presence Detection Lvl 10 a few of them even have Evil in them so I quickly report those fellows and by the end of my flight the sun seems to set so I head back. 

 

I don't know what it is about this place but apart from the weirdness of my first meeting with them all of the Elves are really friendly and happy. I barely see any of them without a frown on their face, unless you mention Humans then it’s all bitter smiles and hidden frowns. Although I understand, I barely got along with any humans back in the town. I think the only people I actually liked back then was the Old Man. Talou was okay but he was a little too serious for me. It's been so much fun just flying about and living with the Elves. I wonder if I should set up a nest here… I mean a more permanent campsite. Maybe even make a house?
