Kai's life... had grown a little monotone. It was good. An hour in the morning was used to complete any errand D-ranked Mission, much to the annoyance of the entire Team Tsunade including Tsunade herself since she felt that it was pointless. But would Kai give up on the touchdown of 2 SP daily?

Heck no! Screw all who say he's a freak! He's a man with goals and ambitions. He would need to take one step at a time on a path that consisted of hundreds if not thousands of steps! He was only seven this year and instead of going beyond the things, actively trying to practice skills from other villages... which did not provide any new skills technically since basic taijutsu, ninjutsu, and bukijutsu were shared across the multiple shinobi villages largely, Kai focused on the things he lacks.

Lightning and Fire Nature Transformation.

These two nature transformations needed to be mastered at a basic 20℅ level so that he could move on. He wasn't a rigid perfectionist who would try and bring it to 100℅ which was too large of a project, Kai decided that it would do him good to master all the five elements first.

So, that's what he did. Aside from team training exercises twice per week, Team Tsunade only came together during the D-rank missions every day and did their own thing. After mastering Water Nature Transformation, Kushina did not move on to wind nature transformation as her chakra paper dictated to be at an equal level of affinity with her. Instead, Kushina wholeheartedly focused on her clan skills. If she wanted to have a chance at better controlling the monster inside of her, Kushina knew she had to make the best of her innate talents aside from elemental jutsu.

Mikoto, nay, better yet the entire Uchiha clan... had benefited greatly from this war. The red-eyed sons of bitches went to war and copied several elemental jutsus from their enemies, especially Kumo, since they were stationed more near the Land of Hot Water. Thus, the clan experienced an influx of lightning-release jutsu the most, something Kai benefited from since Mikoto had the permission of her father to teach him a few things.

It wasn't any strange. His position as the Senju Legacy Guardian had caused waves in the village the first month, after all. And the Senju Clan accepting him wholeheartedly made things even more stunning to other clans. Appointment of Legacy Guardian is an archaic tradition that was used even before the villages were set up. Ever since Konohagakure was formed, there hadn't been any new Legacy Guardian... and if Kai was made one... then his skills and most notably— his talents, were likely to be seriously underplayed by Tsunade.

And Yata was nothing if not a pragmatic individual as the leader of a clan. He was potential in Kai, and further observed potential benefits by having the only Legacy Guardian in the village actually being good friends with his daughter AND the Jinchuriki of the village. Unknowingly, Kai's position in the village had turned somewhat pivotal. This encouraged the Third Hokage to offer Kai some advice and even went as far as remarking that Kai could be trained further by some willing Jonins who wish for their legacy to pass onto capable hands.

What a fool!... is what Kai would have thought if the Jonin in question wasn't Sakumo Hatake who was 'persuaded' by the Hokage to look for a team from the academy. This was a normal situation, really. Shinobi are expected to pass on their skills so even if the shinobi die, their value continues to benefit the village. It was either getting tied down by three fresh students ready to turn his vacation to hell... or having Kai happily strut to his home, greet his voice, snatch his son's toy, and learn a few things from him.

Sakumo... did question why Kai MUST snatch and run away with his son's— Kakashi's— toy but Kai only replied simply.

It was a matter of principle.

His ambitions hadn't changed one bit. In fact, they grew. He wanted to make a fool of this world. He... wanted to bring the most epic (toxic) tradition of his past life. Trolling.

What should he live for? Honor? Legacy? Fuck that. He lived for tits, ass, grind, and trolling. His life felt more worthwhile that way.

While Sakumo did not teach his clan's skills... he didn't need to. All it took was one spar.

Besides, Sakumo introduced him to the chakra flow technique including the flow of lightning nature through any item. Chakra Flow can be divided into two parts, flowing the chakra into items like blades and armors to increase their intrinsic qualities, chakra also flowed through every being.

The tricky part wasn't flowing the chakra through an item made of chakra metal. It was one of the easiest shit Kai had done in a while.  The hard part was flowing elementalized chakra through his body... but it must have been deduced by some fucking maniac cause... Kai got the information on how to flow Lightning through his body! It was named Lightning Cloak... but... because he had mastered chakra flow and lightning flow first... the level of the final skill was diminished to freaking mud!

The crazy thing about the title [Konoha War Shinobi] and most of the skills granted from its skill tree [Supplementary Jutsu] was that... most of them were not allowed for him to peruse in the archives. Heck, he could peruse many elemental jutsu now and lord... don't get him started on how the higher level elemental jutsu was just... the weaker jutsu pumped with more chakra...

Wind Release Ultimate Breakthrough his tired ass! It was just Wind Release... Breakthrough... which also meant that the Wind Release Great Breakthrough was a fucking empty shot because he already knew how to blow wind...

This made Kai sad... but it also cut short most of his grind and focus on different skills.

So, after Sakumo's training and almost four months of grind, Kai was supremely pleased with his results!

[Essence Transformation (39→ 75/75): Allows the user to transform into any beast, plant, or item. This skill does not change the weight of the user, chakra reserve, or any other aspect of the user except physical appearance. The body is molded to form the shape of the chakra extended from the user. Chakra consumed reduced by 1℅ at every level. Current Consumption: 19.5/min.]

[Shape Transformation (43→ 50/50): Utilizes the ability to control chakra to shape it. Decreases chakra wastage by 0.26℅ at every level.]

[Chakra Flow Technique (10/10): The ability to flow chakra into items aside from the innate ability of chakra flowing through one's body. Consumption of chakra decreased by 5℅ at every level. Current Consumption: 1~???]

[Lightning Nature Transformation (50/50): Convert chakra extended out of the body into the element of lightning. Increases the mastery of lightning stat by 0.4℅ at every level. Reduces chakra wastage by 0.06℅ at every level.]

[Lightning Release— Body Pathway Derangement (30/30): The ability to send lightning chakra into the opponent's body through physical contact with the user or their chakra to temporarily stun and confuse the electrical signals that govern the functioning of the body of the enemy. Consumption of chakra decreased by 1.66℅ at every level. Current Consumption: 780]

[Lightning Release— The Lightning Network (35/35): The ability to shape chakra into multiple waves of electrical impulses that spread out in the manner of a spider's web to form a discreet alarm system hidden in nature itself that would notify the user about anyone and everyone that is in contact with the electric network. Increases the range of jutsu aside from the basic 3 meters based on chakra utilized. Decrease the consumption by 1.43℅ at every level. Current consumption: 1200~??? min.]

Aside from the two Legacy Skills Kai only 'read', there were two more lightning releases he managed to learn. One of them was due to the dango-loving mistress of copycat shinobi.

He himself wouldn't use it but it was the grind that counted, right?

Finally, there was also the 'Enlightenment' from Sakumo that really filled his bukijutsu reserves.

Originally, this technique was capped at level 20... but it was clear that the technique also had knowledge about basic chakra flow and that, by itself, diminished the knowledge he gained from this. Yet... even more pathetic was...

[Lightning Cloak Technique (5/5): The ability to enhance the body with chakra and mold it in lightning that increases the reaction time of the user and the strength and speed of their attacks. Due to the lightning flowing out of the user's tenketsu, the transformed chakra acts as armor. Increase the temporary rise of physical parameters and reaction by 20℅ at every level. Increase the physique stat by 10 at every level. Chakra Consumption is reduced by 10℅ at every level. Current Consumption: 2400/sec.]

This is what Kai had expected long ago. Ever since his Academy days... Kai had learned [Basic Chakra Enhancement] and this new technique should have a cap level of 50 given the benefits he got from the grind but... alas, while he got every gain from this skill, only SP was left out.

One thing Kai quickly experimented with and noted was... since the Basic Chakra Enhancement was a PART of this technique, he couldn't stack the effects. Oh well, one only boosted his parameters and the other boosted his reaction time, too.

Unfortunately, the only other thing he could master in these four months, unlike his plan to master Fire Nature Transformation was...

[White Light Blade (10/10): The ability to flow chakra into the blade with bits of lightning that would flash and make use of the surroundings to deal with enemies. Chakra Consumption is based on the Lightning Chakra Flow Technique.]

In essence, what made Sakumo an adversary more dangerous than most wasn't this rip-off skill of Flash Ken Style that he learned from the Senju records but... Sakumo himself. His chakra, his physique, his reaction, his willpower, his awareness... everything was carefully trained to the peak. The man also had odd lightning and fire release jutsu... but again, so did many other shinobi. The man was a freak of nature and probably the equivalent of what he was to the previous generation as the Legendary Three Sannins are for the current shinobi kind of Konoha and what Kai had become for the next generation.

But spars with Sakumo itself proved useful. While kind, he was a white-haired menace far more rabid than his Inuzuka wife the moment he gets serious, and much to Kai's pleasure, the man always got serious to some extent when sparring with him!

As for the Fire Nature Transformation?

It took Kai two months. Fire Release Jutsu... weren't all that hard and honestly, he could only learn the Fireball Jutsu and not the great/grand/pepper variations of it. Why?

Cause it was just a freaking fireball itself!

A fruitful seven months have passed since the end of the war and Kai now noted he had a few options.

First, he could take Minato on his offer to develop that Jutsu he had gotten his mind on that was mostly pure chakra manipulation.

Second, he could master the other chakra flow techniques since he didn't need to pay SP for them. After all, he had a set of chakra kunai, he knew how to elementalize chakra— all he needed to do was flow the said chakra into the kunai in a manner that increases one of its properties. After that, he did plan to learn the remaining supplementary stuff since it sounded interesting.

In fact, his Basic Chaka Storage Seal gave him quite a terrible edge over others, so, Kai also was of half the mind to learn the legacy skills since most of them, especially the Lightning Release from Tsunade and her father were quite the sophisticated use of the element.

By now, Kai was clear that Elemental Jutsus and the kind... would... quickly run out... or maybe not. Now that he was forced to reconcile that the BASIC elements would quickly run out of things for him to train with, Kai... set his sights on the Kekkei Genkai of elements. Since he wished to master the skills of Dojutsu with his own efforts... he could start with something relatively simpler and practice his way up, right?

One step at a time.

Aside from this, there was also Yin Nature Transformation.

Yin and Yang fell beyond the scope of five elements and training the two were hard because of the lack of knowledge. While Tsunade and Nara clan had the knowledge of Yin transformation, only the Akimichi clan and Jiraiya had the profound knowledge of Yang Transformation.

But here lay the beauty of Kai's trait...

As long as he was willing to grind, it will open up a path.

All HE needed to do was... turn the colored paper white for yang transformation. Turn the colored paper black for Yin transformation and as he leveled up, he soon realized that it wasn't the change of color that was truly happening.

Chakra, in essence, is made up of spirit (Yin) and physical strength (Yang.) But more importantly, Yin controls the shape of the chakra. In essence, the molding of chakra by its very nature came under the wide umbrella of Yin Transformation IF done without hand seals. And the change of chakra into elements and other physical matter fell under the umbrella of Yang Transformation IF done without hand seals. This also included transformation jutsu, the ability to change the size of the body, manipulation of matter of the body, and creating something else, say, a snake.

So, when someone turns the color of paper black, all it really is... is the yang turning into yin itself. It was a fucking delusion! Because the intent behind the practice is to turn the paper black, the shinobi hypnotizes oneself at a subconscious level to make use of Yang Release to further the growth of Yin release. It was easier one of the duo. Every shinobi, at some point, uses jutsu that manipulates chakra and this manipulation itself is the basic training of yin transformation.

Yet, given that Yin was directly related to chakra manipulation, one could use Yin release to give their better imagination a chance to become a jutsu.

Yang, on the other hand, was... too different. This is the kind of level Sakumo admitted he never tried. Akimichi Clan had their heritage but the likes of Jiraiya and Orochimaru had their gains from honest hard work.

To train Yang, one must CONSCIOUSLY turn the colors paper white with their chakra. To shift the state of matter in their hand. And... it cost a fuckton of chakra. One A5 paper itself costs 7000 chakra points! And the Yang Transformation was quite dangerous, that's why even if there are a few individuals with a natural affinity with it, they would rather use the hand seals as a way to skip past any conscious effort of molding chakra. After all, who would want to accidentally cause permanent injury to themselves just to train?!

Well, Kai would.

His priorities instantly changed and he focused on these two transformation natures because if he waited for Tsunade to find a better method, it would take too long. Why would he wait when he had posed as the genius shinobi he was? About time Tsunade realized that he CAN surpass her... and in probably no time since his next area of grind was found when Tsunade had that smug smile after defeating him in pure taijutsu...

Well, it was time to give Senju Legacies regarding Taijutsu and Bukijutsu a shot!
