Keira managed to sleep another full day. When Keira woke up, it was already the next day. Her fever was gone but her body was still weak after sleeping for almost 4 whole days without barely eating anything, aside from the soup that Ezekiel bought yesterday.

Keira only opened her eyes without even attempting to move her upper body. She tried to make sense of what happened yesterday, but even after the fever had subsided she could still not understand why Ezekiel managed to carry the memories of Aster. She had a hunch but was afraid to make hasty conclusions, as they say, hasty judgment begets remorse.

Keira closed her eyes again and decided to ask her system which has been suspiciously quiet throughout the whole ordeal.

Keira: [So, what’s this all about Elly?]

System 999: [What do you mean Host?]

Keira: [Don’t play fool System 999. I’m talking about Ezekiel carrying Aster’s memories.]

System 999: [I—I was also confused as you are Host. I tried reporting this incident to the main system but I was only told that this was caused by a bug. They also sent compensation for this incident.]

Keira: [Oh? What kind of compensation?] This immediately perked Keira’s interest.

System 999 felt that its Host was once again, focusing on the wrong thing.

System 999: [The main system gave 500 experience points for its compensation.]

Keira: [What?! Only 500 experience points?! Why is the main system becoming even more stingy.]

System 999: [The main system deemed that this bug does not particularly affect the Host much in your journey to escaping each world, as this bug only appeared in this world.]

Keira: [So, the bug is only present in this world and the male leads in each world do not have any connection whatsoever?]

System 999: [According to the data provided by the main system, there should not be any connection between any of these worlds as the worlds were randomly selected by the main system.]

Keira: [But what if it was not randomly selected, is that possible?]

System 999: [That could be possible Host, but if that were the case, it is a high-level Host that can decide which world they could enter.]

Keira: [High-level Hosts could select what my next world would be?]

System 999: [To be exact, a high-level Host could only decide the worlds that they wish to enter next. If they tamper with other worlds that they aren’t involved with, that would be breaking the rules of the main system and would be punished accordingly by the main system.]

Keira: [Are bugs a common occurrence in the main system?]

System 999: [The main system actually almost does its job perfectly and only very rarely could bugs appear.]

Keira: [Then why am I getting bugs after bugs?]

System 999: [I also do not know the answer for that Host. QAQ]

Keira: [Am I really that unlucky?]

System 999: [Don’t worry Host! After we leave this world and remove ourselves from the bug, crossing over to the other worlds would be a breeze!]

Keira: [Hmmm… You’re right Elly! I only need to get through this hurdle then I would whiz my way through all those remaining worlds.]

System 999: [Go go go Host! *\(≧∇≦)/*]

Keira: [Are those supposed to be pom-poms?]

Keira: [Oh, I almost forgot, show me my remaining points balance Elly.]

A ping sound appeared and Keira opened her eyes. A system prompt is displayed in front of Keira.

[Current Balance: 15,840]

Keira: [This little?! Show me my recent purchase history.]

The system prompt glowed and a row of items and numbers were displayed in the semi-transparent blue screen-like display.

[-500 - Fever Inducer

-200 - 40 minutes of clarity

-1,000 - Body Control

+500 - Compensation]

Keira: [Tsk, the compensation could not even cover the cost for this world. This stingy main system with its overpriced items.]

‘Well… I manage to find out a lot from Elly. But my conjecture could only be proven in the next world. I will have to wait until then. For now, I should focus on tricking this male lead and finding that Master.’

Keira finally sat up her body after laying down, talking with her system, and thinking about the current situation for quite some time. Just as she moved, the door opened. And just like yesterday, Ezekiel was bringing packed food in his hand but this time, he had more comfortable clothes on.

He was wearing a white sweater with black pants on. The knitted white sweater looked exceedingly good on him. His face was still as devilishly handsome as before.

‘This male lead always arrives at the perfect time that I wake up.’

Keira could not help but look around to inspect the room, in suspicion that maybe some sort of camera or device was hidden somewhere in the room where he could monitor her. That was the only reasonable explanation for why he always arrived on time.

Keira could not see any visible cameras but her hunch was telling her that there was indeed a camera or cameras installed somewhere hidden in the room. She has to be careful and avoid embarrassing herself from the male lead.

Ezekiel rolled his sleeves up, revealing a silver watch that was wrapped around his well-defined forearm hidden under the sleeves of the sweater. He grabbed some utensils from the cabinet and transferred the hot food to a bowl and a plate. He grabbed the bowl first that was filled with a sweet-smelling stew. Imitating yesterday’s event, he lifted a spoonful of soup and directed it to Keira’s mouth without even saying anything since coming here.

Keira felt hungry so she also didn’t bother saying anything and just gladly accepts the food that was being spoon-fed to her. After being spoon-fed like a baby full, Ezekiel cleaned up the dishes.

Wiping his hands from the water, he approached Keira and sat on the side of the bed. He stared at Keira’s bedridden appearance. Her hair was messy after laying on the hospital bed for 4 days straight, her eyes had some gound, and her lips still has some small stains from the meal earlier, yet, all of this looked incredibly cute in Ezekiel’s eyes.

He showed a dazzling smile that managed to catch her breath under her throat. Ezekiel reached out his hand and carefully removed the residue on the corner of her lips. He then tucked her hair behind her ear as he declared.

“You’re getting discharged today.”
