On an unknown battlefield somewhere in Eklipses...

The bones across the ground speak of many things, so does the scarlet stains across the ground and so does the shattered armaments do as well,

Of death found on these plains, where life is taken so freely from men and women who held hope they would not fall,

Of battles fought on these plains, where soldiers, commanders, and warriors fought a war declared by those above in the hierarchy,

Of blood spilled freely on these plains, plants crushed, trees scarred by frost or fire, as the plain will bear these marks for years to come,

All for the sake of the glory of the gods, while unaware of how little and how few of their gods truly cared for the well-being of their pawns and puppets,

All for the sake of the treasure found on these lands, pillaged and stolen by the ones who made it, called barbaric and evil, as they are massacred to the last member,

All for the sake of the prosperity of the realm is what the recruiters and the high priest tell their nervous and skeptical soldiers and commanders as they order them to raze villages to the ground.

Once the dust has settled, the dead are collected, the dying speak their last words, and the survivors question the brutality they wrought onto the land,

Once the spoils of war are collected, the last weapons gathered, the last shelter is broken down for supplies, and the last of the items burnt away in a hateful flame,

Once the last monster is dismantled, down to the last tribesman corpse butchered for valuable reagents and ingredients, the rest is discarded with only as much respect as trash would be given.

What part of this is beautiful? Where is the glory in this eternal war amongst the factions? Who are the monsters in this war? Greed and Hate were the true motivators for this raid, and this is the latest war, of carnage and death across this continent, and it won't be the last time...
