Within a library somewhere in the Neutral Territories on Eklipses...

Though I did not intend to cover this topic at any point, some of the few acquaintances I would consider friends had requested for me to cover this array of topics in a digestible format,

So though I have no particular hatred or disgust for vampires, I am sorry for any potentially vampiric being who gets a hand on one of these copies,

As I will have to rip into you guys pretty hard, to get to the core of the matter and the extensive misconceptions that Outworlders and the general public have about your race,

For much of the history, or in much of the myths of the outworlder's homeworld brought to ours,

Vampires were viewed as this sort of apex predator in many variations of their myths and their customs,

As some kind of immense threat to villages and towns or to even society at large,

But in Eklipses, they are just another monstrous race among the many, with some benefits and many negatives they have to keep in mind.

In our realm, those qualities that might make them a predator, are but a dime a dozen, in a world full of continuous development and collapse,

Within our world, where conflict is on the scales of countries and continents, their talents only make them prime toys for others,

And suitable target practice for those with adequate skill and more so, for those with exceptional expertise,

Vampires drink the blood of beast and people alike, as sustenance just like we might eat or drink to survive,

Though some creatures specifically, their blood was recorded to not be palatable, with some being horrid to try to consume as stated by those who attempted to drink it,

To others that are outright toxic or highly corrosive for any vampire to consume without the thorough preparations done beforehand.

This is without going too deep into their innate flaws, like the difficulties they face entering and staying in sunlight,

They are also innately weak to numerous kinds of magic, from Fire to Light to certain types of Life magic they struggle to survive against,

Though I imagine for quite a few people native and those from beyond the veil would find these facts surprising,

For quite a few Outworlders I have ever met, such an idea would be considered ludicrous, but this is a fact of our world,

For there exist several races that vampires must avoid or make alliances with to avoid that race from capitalizing on the vampire's inability to drink their blood.

These are the races that which the vampires run from with exceptional haste when they enter the fray,

Just as the vampires may run away from the magic of the Blood Mages,

Mages who take the Life Attribute and further pool it down into one of the components of life, Blood,

These mages can stand equal to vampires, even if vampires can use blood magic as well,

They must always fear the blood they crave, for not everyone holds their personal life precious,

Vampires must fear the night, just as many without a home to call their own do.

Vampires must contend with the beasts and monsters in the wild that lack blood to drain,

Or creatures who may not need blood at all, who will destroy them for taking their precious toys,

Who are adept at the destruction of tissue, with the attributes of Death and Fire,

Knowing some of my audience among the heretical scientists and secretive Outworlders,

Some might have an idea that instead of becoming a Vampire and suffer all the flaws of the condition,

To instead mimic or create a similar power separate from your innate being to avoid those negatives.

Though that is a certainly fine idea to explore, and one with fewer difficulties I will admit,

I would still advise against such a technique or spell, as that research could be going to ones that inflict actual significant damage.

The same problems that vampires face with their draining powers will crop up for the byproducts of studying them,

As vampires sacrifice unique powers that might aid them in offsetting their flaws, or Vampires that do successfully gain unique powers separate from their race,

Their unique powers are still heavily limited or altered by their races natural gift to work to draining an opponent,

But against foes that are built to outlast even the heroes as an example, like the True Troll Lords, this will only lead to a slow death for the vampire.

Or even those whose specialty is altering the world itself, and spreading their own influence,

Vampires are at a severe disadvantage against any skilled enemy from the Eldritch Faction by the nature of their powers,

And the nature of their home territory, full of beasts far more deadly than some singular vampire or a few,

This is not including the Neutral Faction who can deal with any destructive vampires through pure brute force and elemental mastery,

or Order's nasty penchant of creating slaying and anti-monster spells for creatures they deem as unworthy of living,

So in the end, Vampires are just that, another race in the melting pot of conflict that is our world of Eklipses.

Though this may massively disappoint some who had lofty dreams of power and domination using the powers of the vampires,

This is mainly meant to serve as a reminder and commentary on them, rather than an actual informative guide,

Though even if this was such a guide, it would likely not deter the truly determined from trying to make full use of the opportunity to become a vampire and exploration of theirs powers.

These are all my thoughts at the moment on the topic, if I have any more thoughts on this topic at a later date,

You, my readers, will see it when one of my published works comes out discussing at length then, listing out the results of my research.

Until then, let all of you live fruitful lives, and may the weather shine brightly upon you.
