This might be a bit sudden, but I really wanted to finish the story even if I had to do it so abruptly. I got too disconnected from this world and even if I tried, it would be hard to continue simply releasing chapters, so I just summarized my plans for it the best I could with my ability. If there are still some plot holes, which I assume there's a lot, I can fill them in in the comments. Thanks for the reading everyone and sorry for being too lazy to properly write, edit and complete this story.

Ah, it feels like it was just yesterday when I was having a leisurous life in my apartment given by the old man Merlin. I remember the day when I met the demon lord and rescued her from the arena and how she invited me to her domain to thank me. I remember meeting demons, the curious creatures that game me a sense of intimacy only slightly weaker than the rest of my pets. Back then, I didn’t know the reason for that, I was far too ignorant to even think about it.

But now it’s different. I remember my past, I remember who I really am and I know what I have to do. When the devil first attacked my world, I gave my life and soul to shield it from destruction and ended up being shattered. Fragments of my soul resided in all of my creation, the humans of that time, the animals and other creatures and most importantly, in my beloved spider queen.

Who would have thought that my split soul would one day be reconstructed by none other than a sole survivor of the guardians? That suspicious caped guy turned out to be the only one of them that didn’t get corrupted by the devil wielding the law od death. True, he was kind of obnoxious at the beginning, but now I understand that everything he did was for me, to help me become myself again.

It’s a bit weird, to become a child of your own creation, but I guess it was the most suitable body the guardian could find as it had the best resonance with my divine power. Though my beginning should be a bit less rocky, thanks to some skillful ministrations behind the scenes, I received means to keep my soul together when that man stole me as an egg and accidentally gave me the power of the soul god.

Though I wasn’t the one who created him, that power ended up being quite useful in keeping my soul from falling apart. He must have been created by the one of main gods I made to govern the world. He was also probably the one to create new humans and the system that made it possible to regain my power.

The one thing I didn’t like about him was that when he created the system, he actually used my fragment as its core, and because of how he configured it, only his creations remained stable, and the ones I created mutated. My lovely humans turned into demons and beast people, my animals turned into monsters and because of how different they were from the new humans, they ended up being hunted by them.

But I guess the system had to be created, because of how unguided humanity ended up almost destroying this world… But again if I had to guess, the ones causing the catastrophe were most likely the new humans created by the elder god. I guess it doesn’t matter now that I’m back, but they really made me angry with how they treated my beloved creations. If I survive this battle, I’ll probably exile them along with the elder god that made them to some different world so they won’t bother me.

Yeah, the battle. Even though I managed to defeat one devil by sealing him inside my soul and shattering it, even though I now wield its power, the law of death, the history repeated itself and now both my world and me are on the brink of destruction under siege of devils. With the law of death being in my possession, and the law of life being the sole law left uncorrupted, there was also a multitude of other laws  in the hands of devils seeking to destroy this world tree to get out of its confines.

The guardian of life, that weird caped stalker that kept following me, is now risking his entire being shielding this reality from collapsing, as the devil of space and devil of time are battering at its walls. He should be more powerful than them, and my father is reinforcing the other side, but there’s also the third devil that right now want’s to get me. As the daughter of the one who planted this world tree and as the one who possess the law of death, I could probably leave this reality if I ever wanted to, so if he, who only possess the law of power absorbed me, he could attack and consume other realities as well.

This reality was empty when my father arrived in here. Since he didn’t want to be alone, he planted the first world tree and watched it grow. Because he thought he needed help, he created the guardians and gave them the powers of laws to help him manage the worlds inside the tree. He didn’t expect the power of corruption connected to the law of death, he didn’t expect the strongest guardian betraying him and corrupting the rest of them apart from one. He didn’t expect the destruction that followed.

He only managed to save one person from the dying world tree plagued by the devils, my mother. That old grandma sitting below the new world tree, the one I didn’t recognize at first, turns out to be my family, and the only survivor of the old tree. Sure, I was happy to be reunited with my parents, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen yet. As soon as I regained my memories, the devils attacked. It was more or less my fault the attack happened so soon, because it was the system that was slowing them down a bit, and I consumed, or rather reunited with it, resulting in me becoming the goddess again.

Poor snarky girl, being the core of the system, she gained sentience when I was born as a spider and continued getting stronger, she actually sacrificed herself so I could return to being myself when she found out of the approaching doom. I will probably recreate her if I’m able to, but I’m not sure if she will still be the same person.

Crap, my life is flashing before my eyes. Currently I’m lying on the ground battered by the blast of the explosion the devil created. Merlin shielded Felicia with his body and ended up in ever worse shape than I am now, and she wasn’t in much better condition either. Arthur too was lying in the hole far from the battlefield, but it might be because I’ve thrown him there as he was way too annoying. My current mother that I managed to resurrect into a human body from the egg that was left after forest battle was now exchanging intense blows with the devil so we could recover a bit, but she too was getting overwhelmed.

Sure enough, after only twenty seconds of resistance, she ended up lying next to me while being unable to move. I was now stronger than ever, but even though I had all this power, I could do nothing against its literal incarnate. He even found a way to resist the law of death with his own law, so the power I obtained from the devil was also useless. If only there was someone stronger than him that could help us now…

“Hey, so if I kill this guy you will open a portal to another reality for me?”

I heard suddenly from a hole in space that appeared next to me. I remembered this voice, I only met this guy once, but he saved my life when I was in the labyrinth escaping from mushroom fairies or something. Back then I found his power unmeasurable, and even now I got a bit scared of the pressure he let out.

A man stronger than gods, a cultivator who went from being a simple mortal to where he currently was, a guy like that came out from a crack in space.

“It sure was nice to cultivate near the world tree, as I am now, I don’t think I will lose against anyone.”

He said as he disappeared, his speed far surpassing the one I was capable of following with my eyes, appearing near the devil and blowing him away with a huge blast. It was the first time I’ve seen fear on the devil’s face, as he was currently holding his gut in pain. He started sending energy blasts at the cultivator, but he casually strode through the air ignoring them, occasionally slapping them out of the air with his palm.

The devil started to retreat, but for some reason he couldn’t, as if he was bound to his position, he could only wait and look at the person approaching him. When the cultivator finally reached the devil, he simply took a wooden bowl from his pocket (no idea how, the bowl was much larger than the pocket itself) and tucked the devil inside. Then he tore the hole in space with his sword again and simply left.

Well, that was anticlimactic, almost as if someone was unable to write a proper battle sequence. But that doesn’t really matter, with one devil gone, we now had a chance to make a comeback. I decided to go full anime protagonist style, and use the power of friendship… not, I started charging all the power of law of death I had inside of me, and also the law of life from the caped guardian, because of the connection I established with him earlier and started condensing them. I couldn’t do that before because of the power devil restraining me, but now I had all the time I wanted with the devils not focused on me.

The both powers started resonating in my hands, creating nihility, it was much stronger than the void I created when I was training with the dragon, this power was capable of absorbing even the reality. I slowly created more and more of that energy, while sending the mental message to the guardian.

The hole of nihility became bigger, and I lifted it into the air. Suddenly out of nowhere, the guardian appeared, holding the two devils by the necks and simply threw them at the hole. I guess I won’t describe the results as they were a bit messy, but I guess that concluded the battle.

Man for a story like that, the ending is really anticlimactic, but I can’t really complain here. I’m alive after all and I’m finally back to my original self. Now I can finally stop fighting and relax while having fun with my world, and I finally can see my original parents again.
