Ominously licking his lips, Primordius crouched his body slightly before he began to crawl his way out of the small underground cave beneath the dilapidated house.

As he didn’t want to spook his prey, he moved slowly, carefully taut his tensed muscles beneath his obsidian, black scales.

Meanwhile, his stomach couldn’t help but growl and gurgle as he was looking at the delicious prey ahead, waiting to be devoured.

He was being overtaken by ecstasy just by the scent of the sweet aroma emitting from his body and his mouth was watering with an ungodly, ravenous hunger.

Tonight was going to be the night he took the biggest step in his life, the night where he was going to break free from his humanity and embrace his new self.

He realized now the reason he wasn’t able to accomplish his dream and get what he wanted when he was a mere human was because of morality and discipline.

Influence, power, sexual desire, morals, vice, rule, regulation, everything that used to shackle him, he’s going to devour them all as his hunger was endless, and used them however and whenever he wanted.

Meanwhile, as Primordius was slowly and eagerly crawling his way out of the underground cave, a mild scraping noise suddenly echoed out beneath the small dilapidated house like a metal door opening on rusty hinges.

"Skrrrrrt"

‘Shit!’ He inwardly cursed out as he abruptly stopped his movement. And the noise ended as quickly as it started.

“Who’s there?” blurted out Edwin in panicking tone. Even though the scraping noise wasn’t loud, he was still able to hear it due to how quiet the night was.

His eyes darted side to side as he was looking for the origin of the scrapping noise but to avail. He was so dark that he couldn’t see anything.

As he didn’t know that he was going to spend the night in the dark evil forest, he didn’t bring any night supplies with him, let alone a candle.

If it wasn’t for one of his friends who were a true adventurer that lent him this small tent, he would have slept in the open.

“I know you out there, so show yourself or I’ll shoot you.” He said in a trembling tone as he was pointing his crossbow in all directions with a nervous expression on his face.

Though he couldn’t explain it, even while he was setting up his small tent, he’s been having this uncanny sensation and the nagging feeling that he was being watched.

However, no matter where he looked, he was unable to find the watcher. Yet the hairs on the back of his neck couldn't help but bristle as he sensed the presence of someone, something; not physically beside him, but somehow out there, perceiving him from afar.

At first, he thought he was some creep waiting to watch him have some fun with his old lady, there are many people with a fetish like that, people that like to watch. But now he wasn’t sure anymore. He had a bad feeling about it.

“Damn it, I shouldn’t have come here. But no, I had to listen to that crazy bitch in heat.” He couldn’t make out what was lurking there, but he could sense its presence, watching and waiting with a patient focus.

‘It seems like I wasn’t discovered.’ Thought Primordius as he was looking at the bone spurs protruding on his back which were scratching on the rocky lining of the exit tunnel of the small underground cave.

As he couldn’t retract the bone spurs protruding from his back into his body, he was forced to crouch even lower in the small narrow tunnel.

Though it was a little uncomfortable, he still endured it as the meal was worth it. At the same time, he also coiled his twelve tentacles-like tails into one to prevent them from scratching the wall as well.

Once he made all these changes, he resumed crawling his way out of the underground cave through the narrow tunnel. After a few seconds, he managed to successfully crawl out of the underground cave without any more complications.

As soon as he got out, he used the Presence Concealment’s skill to erase both his odor and presence. Even a powerful warrior wasn’t able to discover him when he used the Presence Concealment skill, let alone a regular mortal.

As such, Primordius was sure of his surprise attack. He wasn’t afraid of the middle-aged man as he’s already assessed his strength. He was only afraid of not being able to kill him quickly enough to prevent him from screaming which would alert the others.

“What is this?“ Blurted out Edwin as a flickered of red light flitted across his vision before disappearing. Adrenaline fired through his senses, amplifying them, ready to react.

His eyes darted around, and his head swiveled. Then the air stilled for a moment, as though the world was holding its breath.

But then… silence. The world returned to life, his heart pounding in his chest the only proof that the moment even happened.

“Stop where you are and reveal yourself.” Fear pierced through Edwin’s gut like the cold steel of a twisted blade as he was pointing his crossbow everywhere, ready to shoot at anything that move.

As Edwin was looking around, trying to find the watcher, he abruptly stopped his movement. A gust of air, soft as a feather, brushed across his face

At the same time, cold sweat beaded on his brow as a sudden realization crept up his spine.

‘It’s behind me.’ He thought as he heard the small guttural and deep growl behind him. He felt as if death itself was behind him, breathing heavily on his back like a living being.

His heartbeat slowed to a crawl as it began to struggle at pumping blood through his body. He was frozen solid.

He could even smell the stink of his own fear. And if he could smell it, the creature lurking behind him could surely smell it too.

Mustering all of his courage, Edwin tried to turn around with his fastest speed and shoot at whatever was behind.

‘It’s too late.’Primordius thought as he was looking at Edwin’s action before he pounced at him and viscously bit down his waist.

With a crunching sound, half of Edwin’s waist was bitten off, and his intestines began to slide out before he fell to the ground. He spasmed on the ground a few times, not dying right away.

With a huge chunk of meat in his mouth along with fresh blood dripping out from it, Primordius then walked forward gracefully toward Edwin, stepping on his chest with his sharp paws.

It was at this moment that Edwin finally saw the true form of the culprit.

Looking at the red searing eyes of the creature made of pure darkness’ it's the devil.’ He muttered. The bloody red eyes were void of any emotions and were filled with cruelty and malice

[You have gained 5 fear points]

[You have gained 5 despair points]

‘So that’s what the voice referred to when he mentions negative points.’ Thought Primordius before he put a little pressure on its paws.

“CRUNCH!”

Following his action, the sound of bones breaking could be heard before Edwin’s chest caved in, and seconds later he stopped moving.

However, Primordius didn’t stop there. He proceeded on tearing into Edwin’s chest with knife-like fangs and began to voraciously devour his flesh one giant bite at a time with blood splashing on his face. It was a truly gruesome scene to witness.

It wasn’t unknown if it was because of the Abyssal Will’s skill, but Primordius didn’t feel any discomfort or remorse as he was tearing and feasting on a human’s flesh for the first time.

In fact, he felt as if it was the most delicious thing he has ever tasted. He felt and euphoric thrill as he was feasting on the flesh of this pesky human.

Whether it was his legs and internal organs, words could not describe just delicious it was. That was even more true for his heart and brain, they were the most delicious part.

If Edwin’s body was like an entrée then his heart and brains were the deserts due how sweet they were.

As soon as he was done consuming the human, he felt at peace and serenity unlike anything in his old and previous life

‘How could such a whole and beautiful feeling be the result of evil?’ He thought.

‘It seems like every time I achieved something, the voice in my head alerts me without fail. As if he explicitly wants to me improve and get stronger.” Even now Primordius still didn’t trust the voice in his head. He had the feeling that he had something to do with his failed reincarnation.

‘I don’t care who you are and why you brought me here but for now, I’ll rely on you to achieve my goal.’ He thought.

Then, with a devilish grin on his face, he looked at the tent behind him while licking his bloody lips.’I am still hungry.’
