Rereading the series after taking a break from it, I'm not satisfied with how I wrote the story and the characters.
I don't want to delete the story, nor do I want to drop it. This is something that I want to complete.
I'd like opinions for what to do. Should I just continue with the story, or create a separate story for the rewrite and leave this one behind?

Rewriting is a common trap all new authors fall into... its an endless pit where few make it out of.
You can rewrite it when you give it polish and release it as a book but don't let past perceived mistake stop you from moving forward.
The more you write the better you become and the worse old chapters look so don't look back.
Just be satisfied with your new chapters being better... maybe later you could look back and see how far you have gone without getting trapped.
Hell by the time you finish rewriting it you may look back again and start all over again because you got even better at writing... this is a infinite loop where the story never goes anywhere and dies a tragic death.
Hell I was gonna pick this story up because the premise sounded awesome but then I read this and now I'm going to pass... i have seen what happens when authors start doing this and I'm not going to start reading until I know it's going to go somewhere.
You just shot yourself in the foot if your goal was getting more reader's and people invested in your universe.
I think its up to you dear
Gota say i have enjoy this story and it's idea so far. I think you should continue. But hey if you wanna drop or rewrite it's a-o-k. The most inportant thing is writing the story you want to write.
I think that the characters can be improved and i also feel satisfied with the story thus far
I am worried that this story may be discontinued after the rewrite as many people drop they story after they do a rewrite
If you are confident that the story can continue after rewrite the go ahead
But i think you should continue as the story also shows your personal growth as an author and maybe after your rewrite and after some chapters when you improve you may feel like the quality is not up to the point any may start again
So i recommend that you stick with the story. And is the quality is not enough you can put more time into editing the chapters before posting them. Hope you take my advice to heart
This is one of the stories that i read as soon as it's available so looking forward to seeing more from you
So far I have enjoyed the story, although some parts could be improved upon. Overall, I recommend keeping this one and starting a new story.
Please don't delete it and just restart from the start if you rewrite.

Rewrite, because if you continue you will only feel Bad and won't enjoy your own work.
And god know how it's hard to work on something you don't liké.
