The giant ground its remaining teeth as a seething fury took hold of its mind. Its anger was entirely focused on the strange being above it, which had somehow taken control of his rejuvenation ceremony.

However, despite the rage that boiled in its soul, the titan’s gaze did not match this, as it only seemed to shift questioningly between the twin lights that were embedded in the being’s head. Although, most of its confusion was focused specifically on the darker of the two, as he was already certain of the green orb’s identity…

Giant: “So...you were not destroyed after all...how unexpected, yet so mundane. You’ve merely saved me the trouble of reconstituting and reabsorbing you from what fragments remained, but that said, I’m quite surprised that you took the time to return here and interfere with me...instead of bearing the weight of your sin and awaiting the end.”

The giant spoke with contempt in his voice, but the being who floated above him didn’t seem to care, instead of taking to adjusting its neck while humming a tune, further infuriating the giant.

At this point a maelstrom of black energy had formed below the giant, seemingly ready to pounce on its command, however, the colossal being seemed to hesitate about unleashing it. Its eye moved to the still-corrupted, ring above him, gazing at it longingly as his aggressor's smile grew wider and more sinister…

???: “We supposed that you had let this one live…”

The being pointed to the green orb in its left ‘eye socket.’

???: “However, it seems clear to us now that this is merely yet another instance of your contradictions and incompetence rearing their ugly heads. You had attacked with intent to destroy this one and within a lightless husk of a space whose laws you are unfamiliar with.”

Giant: “If you intend to buy yourself time by lecturing me on the value of your being to this nonexistent world, it shall be rendered futile. Though I am quite curious as to how you achieved that form, so how about you for once serve your creator and tell me what I wish to…”

???: “Futile and worthless are words you are quite enamored with, creator. It is truly comical that you do not realize the futility of this ritual, as it would not allow for your complete restoration…”

The giant’s eye widened at this statement. If what this creature was saying was true, then it somehow had the means to prevent his body from being fully healed. However, he soon regained a calm expression when looking at the ‘halo’ above him.

Giant: “Do you refer to your feeble attempt at overriding my control over the ceremony? I should inform you that I can regain control at any time I wish, which I don’t believe should be to your surprise.”
A smug smile now spanned the remaining side of his face. He looked for a reaction from this new figure, but was only met with a pair of drooping ‘eyes’ and a deep sigh…

???: “Creator, you do not seem to have understood our meaning, and...so that there is no more talk of your abomination…”

The being raised its arm, as the ‘veins’ running across it began to radiate with a purplish glow! A haze of purplish energy particles began to flood the area above the ring, gradually coalescing into the shape of an enormous, skeleton-like arm!

The titan now watched in horror as the being directed this construct to slam down upon his creation, his source of hope. The skeletal knuckles bore into the halo, causing an immense explosion of force that sent shockwaves rippling throughout the air, a multitude of small cracks began to appear on its surface!

Confusion and fear now overtook the giant’s mind completely, as it prepared to launch the maelstrom that had been violently brewing underneath itself, now seemingly unperturbed by the thought of damaging his creation…

Giant: “A pathetic ingrate like you who couldn’t hold his tongue against his creator...you dare to defy me further?!! I won’t allow you to go any further than you already have, and so I will end you now!!!”

A massive pillar of mana exploded from beneath the furious giant, climbing into the ‘sky’ above! The massive skeletal arm faded as a burst of green light flowed from its user! The pillar almost instantly reached the halo, but the sudden appearance of a green, crystalline shield stopped it dead in its tracks!

A malicious grin spread across the maddened titan’s face as the brilliant construct had already begun to shatter under the power of his attack. However, it was still paying close attention to his surroundings, to defend himself against any sort of sneak attacks, but was delighted to find that its soon-to-be-vanquished assailant was standing its ground, while seemingly pouring all the energy it had into maintaining its shield.

The shield continued to crack and shatter, as it was quickly pushed back to the ring!

Giant: “See?!! No matter what form you take in your pitiful quest to imitate me, you are merely a single aspect of my being!!! Prepare to…!!!”

Suddenly, a cloud of dark purple energy began to drift out from behind the shield construct, forging a pair of gargantuan skeletal arms that grabbed hold of the shield! However, instead of reinforcing it, the massive arms swiftly pulled it out of the way, along with the still-smiling being of purple and green, leaving the beam-like pillar on a collision course with the halo!

Giant: “NOOOO!!!!”

The giant bellowed as he inserted his remaining arm into his mana, causing him to scream and curse in pain as he directed the beam’s path away from the ring, and focused it, again, on his defier! However, a jovial laugh broke out from the being, distorted and warped, yet still joyful…

In the instant before their master’s certain demise, the skeletal arms shifted the position of the shield, aiming it towards the ring! The pillar of chaotic black mana struck against the shield, shattering them within mere moments of doing so, but not before redirecting a portion of the blast towards the colossal construct!

And in the next moment, a massive explosion consumed the ring, and moments later...only the mad cries of the giant, the cackling of the defier, the three still-seemingly paralyzed ‘gods,’ and the shattered remains of the halo remained.

The three orbs of red, blue, and yellow light now began to stir again, as if they had just awoken from a long slumber. However, they were speechless at the sight of the debris from the very construct that had nearly cost them their existences, and at the mysterious new being that slowly floated towards them…

???: “Greetings, my kin...I am…”
