Sorry, for not posting immediately, but I spent my night on Dead Cells. I keep trying to grind enough strength power-ups and red-type weapons to whoop the time keeper's ass, but he's like a sharper...scarier Speedy Gonzales! I switched my preferred weapon combo from the Nutcracker and Ice Blast to the Spear and Toxic Daggers, so I'm definitely doing better(still can't get through any level but the first two without taking a hit though, and I definitely am not making the time-requirements for the doors at the checkpoints anytime soon).
