(Tshhh... The problem is that the horde of zombies began to separate, tshhh... it seems that the leader who leads them understood that gathering a large number in one place would only make things easier for us, tshhh... now the zombies began to walk individually to our camp)
Shit! In truth that was the worst thing that could happen... Now with this, it is not much use to concentrate the weapons in a single point...
"...Vrana-chan, fly and tell me how long is the number of zombies that comes here"
"I understand Master, roock ~"
With my instruction, Vrana-chan spreads her wings and immediately soars through the skies while the people next to me who heard Yoshioka's message have a serious face. Not long after she comes back, stands beside me, and then tells me what I asked for.
"They are still many, master, roock ~ But... They are not many as before ... the enemies are everywhere now!... Vrana does not know whether to count them as many or individually! What must Vrana doing, master, roock ~?!? "
"... I-I see, don't worry about it Vrana-chan"
For a moment I thought Yoshioka was wrong... I was so focused on what to do now that I forgot that she only knew how to count to 10... well since she looks cute making a worried face and flapping her wings for not knowing how to count the zombies, let's leave it that way.
"We will fight as we go back to the camp! ... things have changed and now we will defend the camp from within it!"
It didn't help that the soldiers and most of the weapons were here now, and it wouldn't help much if we split up all over the area killing zombies. Then after considering all of this I decided that it was best to protect the camp from within and so I give orders to do just that.

Almost at the same time that I give the orders, the system announces the completion of another of the first three missions that I got when Kurisu and I arrived in this world. This does not surprise me much since the counter of this before this horde of zombies attacked the camp was not far from 800 thousand, so with the number of enemies that were coming here I had already expected to complete this mission on the day of today.
So I don't pay too much attention to this notification and instead focus on repeating my previous words a few more times to make sure that as many people as possible be able to listen.
So following my words the cars and all the people start to slowly back down as we continue eliminating the zombies in front of us. As Yoshioka had said, most of the zombies dispersed now and therefore suddenly the zombies stopped coming in large numbers from the front.
Noticing this we stopped caring about them and quickened our pace towards the camp, so when we got to the camp, I quickly give orders to scatter all the soldiers and hunters who had been waiting here holding their crossbows, all around it in small groups of 10 men.
As for the vehicles, they are also dispersed and placed covering some areas of the camp in support of the people who would fight.
We didn't have to wait long to start seeing the zombies walking slowly towards the camp again, but only this time they came from all around the perimeter of it.
Watching them get closer and closer, even the residents here were preparing to fight them. But in the end, they were asked to back off since for now we would focus on fighting with long-range weapons for two reasons.
The first was that if so many people fought it could cause chaos. Residents may be motivated to fight, but there is also a big problem if they do so since the zombie virus is still effective on them and if it begins to spread throughout the camp then that would only make the situation worse.
I had only administered in the soldiers the immunity antidotes after all. Also, even though we have a stock of the others that work for a while of time, maintaining a constant use in more than 30 thousand people would end this quickly.
The second reason was that, since we have a shield or energy in this camp, then it was time to put this in use. I had already made the preparations previously and that is why I had placed 400 thousand crystals in this one so that it even resisted an attack by a large group of monsters in the 4th limit.
Because of this, I was confident that it would hold out for a long time and so soldiers and hunters could eliminate zombies within the safety of the protective shield. This was specially designed for that, it did not allow access to anything when it was fully activated but did let things go through.
So the zombies would be stopped and the bullets and arrows could reach them without problems, really it was very practical. Unfortunately since there are still many enemies, surely the consumption of this will not be small... damn! It's 400 thousand crystals, you know?!
Until now we have probably killed some 250,000 zombies of the horde in total, with the attack of the vehicles we killed another 100,000 approximately. Although the ones in my group and the soldiers killed more of them, that was because we were only able to use the most powerful weapons for a short time compared to when we fought.
But there is still half the zombie horde, another 250,000 enemies to defeat... Well, maybe I should subtract another 50,000 or so from that number…
Thanks to the ditches that the residents dug, the soldiers did not have to deal with the first zombies as they fell foolishly into the holes.
Lamentably, these had a bottom and so eventually they were filled with the bodies of the zombies, therefore it was the turn of the people waiting behind the shield to start firing and taking them down.
"It seems that it only remains to see if the shield falls first or if we finish eliminating those zombies before that happens..."
"... I think this one will resist, so it's only a matter of time before this ends... Yoshioka, was all the zombies dispersed? There are no groups left?"
Yoshioka who had returned to camp before the shield was activated speaks to me as I watch some zombies come to the shield and start hitting it to try to get past... they kept doing that until a person arrives and kills them.
As I said, I had confidence in the energy shield and so I wasn't worried about zombies invading the camp.
My concern was different... if the zombies broke up, then it would be more troublesome to search for the general of this horde throughout the area around the camp and perhaps he could escape.
If this continued with the same behavior of the other intelligent zombies, then surely this one would try to be in a safe place and also if he noticed that his subordinates did not manage to enter here, he could choose to withdraw without even showing himself.
"It's like you're probably thinking, Alexander-san. A group kept a distance from the camp... so surely the one leading this horde will be there.
But there is only one problem... from what I could see there were about 10 thousand of them and this group was made up of only evolved zombies, so to reach the leader you will have to go through these first.
"...well, that is certainly somewhat problematic. But I think that is easier than having to search it all over the place, after all, those 10,000 subordinates he keeps around him can be treated in different ways... it would also be more troublesome than later he ordered those subordinates next to him to attack here.
...You and Soichiro continue to lead the soldiers in the camp, I will take a helicopter and head to where that leader is "
"I understand. Be careful"
After talking to Yoshioka I head to the helipad and board a military military transport helicopter along with my group and another team of 10 men. Also, this time I bring Haruna who had stayed inside the camp all this time and even the two girls who also came with her here.
Since we did not know what is the maximum distance was for the link with her monsters to continue working to they would gain some experience for it, so I had also asked them to come here. Well, since Iruka-chan's monster would not participate in the battle, she didn't need to be here, but since her mom and best friend were coming, it would be a cruel thing to leave her in MLDW alone.
Logically I did not intend to make them fight head-on against those enemies, I had a different plan to deal with those zombies and with this, they could also easily benefit.
The helicopter rises and we leave the energy shield, doing this caused a peculiar sensation like a slight tingling throughout the body but it quickly disappears.
After that, the pilot steers the helicopter in the direction Yoshioka had told us he had seen that group of zombies and then in a few minutes we can see them with our eyes.
"Well, everyone gets ready to do the things I told you before... don't be rush, focus and do it quietly taking the time you need.
Make the Helicopter down! "
"Yes!"
When the pilot answers my instruction and begins to do what I asked him, everyone else here was looking serious as they held in their hands the things I gave them. So when we are a few dozen meters from our target, they all carry out my previous words.
Immediately several bright lights emanate from the helicopter... if it were night now it was sure that this would be something very striking that would be appreciated from a good distance.
Although most of the faces were one of surprise, it didn't seem like there was a problem so I also take the magic scroll in my hand and a crystal to activate it. Because I had experience with this, despite having started after the others, my parchment spell attacks that group of zombies first.
Second after this one, others more start to fall on them like rain... there were fireballs, lightning bolts, wind blades, rocks and other more spells hitting the area where those zombies were.
Also, this didn't stop there, after they finished using the first parchment we all moved on to the next one and repeated the same thing making things even worse for zombies on the ground.
Due to this the dust rises and we cannot see very well the result of the attack with the magic scrolls, although thanks to the same helicopter that scattered the dust by the wind generated by its propellers, we did not have to wait long to discover it.
I was hoping to reduce their number quite a bit, but... this result exceeded my expectations. Well, looking at the attacks that each scroll made, perhaps this was not much different from an artillery bombardment...
The group of zombies ... no, perhaps it can no longer be considered as such. Those zombies were now scattered over a larger area and also, probably none have remained intact ... in fact, of those 10,000, those who seemed to be able to move after the attack most likely did not exceed 1,000.
"...that was an impressive thing"
"Yes ... also the feeling of receiving instructions directly in the head is somewhat strange"
"Rika, Rika ~! Did you see it !? I used magic!"
"... first zombies and now magic... the world has really become something very strange"
" So this is what you used in my house, Alexander-kun?... I agree with Rika-san that this is something mysterious"
"From what I have seen, it seems that these serve to attack or defend, mom. Without a doubt they are very interesting objects"
"It's true, the time we had problems in the building before, the one Saeko-san used helped us a lot... but more than interesting, Saya. I think these are very useful... those zombies were almost totally annihilated"
Kurisu agrees with Saeko who is the first to speak after coming out of surprise at seeing the result of the attack and also she comments on the feeling of using the scrolls. Saeko probably recovered before the others since she had used a scroll as Reí says when she speaks to the last of them all about the thing in the building.
The pair of friends, Shisuka and Rika are the next to speak. The first expresses excited to the second that does not pay much attention to her for being lost in her thoughts, so the second began to shake her to she listen to her.
Yuriko-san seems to remember the time we were in her mansion because of this, and her daughter tells her of her analyzes of the times she had seen the use of the scrolls.
"Now it only remains to finish with the leftovers, those who can fight on the ground come down with me and those who do not, will be our support from the helicopter with their rifles
Also, the leader of the zombie horde must still be alive so we must find him and destroy him. "
"Yes, Master!"
"Yes…"
Getting a response from Leona and Scythe, I threw a rope to get off the helicopter and then seeing me do that, Saeko also mimics my actions.
"Tan Tan… Tan Tan Tan… Tan… Tan Tan Tan… Tan… Tan Tan Tan… Tan… Tururu… Tururu♪♪"
"I-I understand that guy is not nervous, but... why the hell is he singing while he is lowering the rope!"
"Well… maybe he does it that to focus better?"
"... b-but he looks cute acting like someone according to his age. Besides, Komuro you shouldn't curse other people!"
"I-I understand mom..."
"Fufufu, it is good to see Alex-san motivated"
While everyone watches me begin to descend the rope while I hum the theme of a good action movie that I have seen in my previous world, the others put different expressions for this.
Komuro, you don't get it... it's almost obligatory to sing that song when you get off a helicopter by a rope. Well, that is not your fault since sadly for you and the others, it is impossible to know the theme of the movie "Mission: Impossible"...
Furthermore, the two mature women who accompanied us, Yuriko-san and Haruna, they express their speculations or internal thoughts in their heads as to why I do it. It seems that most of the other girls agree with what the latter says since after listening to it, they nod and even some have slightly flushed faces.
Lastly, when Leona and Scythe start down the ropes that they threw. Saeko after of laugh a little and say that, then she takes the rope with I'm down and does the same.
As the helicopter had descended as much as possible, it did not take long for the 4 of us to reach the ground and being able to see the place more closely, really it seems that someone would have carried out an artillery bombardment here... the only difference is that there are not only marks of combustion, there are also residues like ice and some other things.
"Well, then let's proceed to finish off the remaining ones in this group."
"Yes, Master!"
"..."
"I get it"
With two of the three girls responding to me and one only gesturing with her head, then each of us advanced towards the enemies that can still move.

I just realized. Alex have been in that world for five months and in that time between pink district and married couples have to happen some pregnancies. And despite that is VERY important matter, especially in the new world you said nothing how is happening prenatal care due to the collapse of medical system.
why collapse? He has scientists, doctors, nurses, medical supplies, laboratories, cheat inventory to buy stuff with crystals, etc. Magic Land is a fully functional town with all kinds of modern services. It would be more complicated at the beginning tho.
@kalscribblehub well, first of all, MLDW is not 'a fully functional town' as it depending on marodeuring as a food source and more or less depending on existing of Alex for stable life. That kind of town can't be called fully functional if you kill one person and town'll collapse.
Second. Yes he has nurses, doctors etc, but for that moment they're all battle orientated because, well there're at war against the world basically (95+% of World's population wants to eat the remaining 5% after all). It's like tractor factories in case of war re-profile in tank factories because now they need tanks not tractors. Same here They needed battle medics and infection cure so they care less about thing like pediatrics and ophthalmology (for ex.) because of huuuge lack of manpower and specialists. Not to forget that hospitals takes a massive hit during first day because all infected hoped on hospitals for cure which means +- 98% of hospital workers are dead and to teach new ones MLDW need at least couple of months more to get volunteers basic education.
Third. In that period all pregnancies would be much more severe because yes, now there're save but all of people still knows deep in their heart that they're all in deep sh*t and can die anytime and that constant stress is no good for any pregnant woman. Not to mention that they were nuked not so long ago...
@Alinterelins nah, not sure which story you are reading, because that makes no sense. Lets see:
1) 50,000 people or so among both towns
2) Most people in ML are working, as that is the requirement for being a citizen and getting full rations (plus a house). That includes all sorts of services: school, doctors, crafting/construction, ammo production, etc. They also have factories/labs to produce tech and meds
3) They have tons of looted material, including medical supplies, that will last a few years. And they have the equipment and know-how to produce more. They are self-sufficient.
4) Alex is not necessary at all. They have a fully function organization, tech and leadership. Alex is a good focus point, but if he was gone today both towns would continue to develop further. That is one of his greatest achievements, he made sure the new society and towns can live on.
5) People in ML are often described as very happy, a good town, just like any before the zombie apocalypse.
6) One of the places they rescued was a biological lab with scientists, medics, and full of supplies and lab equipment. It was the base for building their own lab and producing the zombie antidote in ML.
7) they have the sea farm that produces food in large quantity
8) they are working on open farm lands for future food production
9) they have enough food for years, and more towns to loot as well, before all that turns bad. So they have plenty of time to develop the land.
@kalscribblehub
1) 50,000 indeed.
2) Most people are working? Yes. Are they specialists? No and no. To become a specialist human have to spend around 10.000 hrs doing that job. Most of MLDW population was office workers. And now they have to become soldiers, builders, doctors and so on. Do you really think that a man who sold merchandise half-year ago can be a good town builder? surgeon? teacher (yes you have to learn how to be a teacher too)? Whatever else? And not houses but flats instead (faster to build, can hold more people). They have no enough land, it was said before.
3) Looted materials are destined to end. Before they not producing it's not self-sufficient. And yes they can make some medicine but how long can they continue? Pharmacy is a very complicated at resources consumed (not sure how to tell it different) job. How can they produce for ex. insulin for diabetics if they has no pigs and have no ways to get them?
4) Alex is very needed for the camp. Without him command chain will collapse as he is like Cesar 'The first of equals' if you're not agree name me one thing MLDW done without HIS permission and i'll tell you what was done without permissions of the rest. And are you serious they can live without him? HE gives'em plans for new types of zombi-vaccine, HE gives'em blueprints for their defense, HE is a general of all battles, HE and HIS group are best zombie exterminators, the camp rely on HIM to get what they really need. Things like parts for their vehicles. Things like metal. You may say, they looting metal and they are. But can they make for ex. bullets from that metal? Hardly 'cause they have no mean to melt that amount of steel and other metals needed for ammo production. Also they need nitroglycerin for that and to make nitroglycerin they need animals again because nitroglycerin is an animal oil based alcohol and they need Alex (again) to get it for them due to lack of their own farming.
5) It may be the truth.
6) People they saved were mostly virologists so as their equipment. So yes they can produce anti-virus medicine. But what about infections? fungal diseases? narcosis for surgery? what about people with asthma? They'll die because their equipment cannot make Inhaled glucocorticosteroids (aka inhalators). So when they are doctors and scientists indeed, they all single-purposed doctors and to re-profile them town also need time and specialists. And they have lack of both.
@Alinterelins take a million people and pull a random 50,000 group out of it. Do you really think they would all be officer works? No 50 doctors among them? LOL
And in case you are not aware many people that work in biological research have a MD degree, which means, they are doctors.
Generally you want to have 1 to 3 doctors per 1,000 people, which means 50 to 150 would be plenty.
@kalscribblehub as i said before hospitals took a monstrous hit during 'day 1' as what human would do if someone bit him/her? Right, run in the closest hospital --> hospital has died the moment first infected gets in. And there were more than one infected. And that means that survived only those who were at day off more or less.
MD degree in pediatric and MD degree in neurosurgery it's to completely different MDs, don't you think?
4 to 7 med personal per 1.000 people is a statistics for normal town. In apocalyptic i would say it's 4 per 30.000(+-). And yes i said med personal, not doctors as usually it goes 1 doctor per 5-7 nurses and interns. So yeah, Alex was EXTREMELY (DOUBLE CAPS) lucky to get doctors from the lab. But as i said even as all of them are MDs, i really doubt they can do some serious surgery as they all their life worked with viruses in flasks. They may know what to do, but without practice it's quite useless. And how can they help with prenatal care of pregnant women if they never worked with pregnant women? And the last time they had to do something with pregnancy was in their university or when they were pregnant themselves.
@Alinterelins Japan has 23/10,000 physicians, which means about 2 per 1,000.
Alex has access to healing potions, which will eventually become normal in this new world. Right now he can share some of his stock for emergencies. In the future they will have things like herbs to self produce those, but it should take 10-50 years for the world to evolve to tier 2.
They have plenty of medical supplies.
No, all doctors did not die on day 1. In the first place, not all doctors would be at the hospitals working. Secondly, many escaped when people starting killing each other. Others just stay indoors until they were rescued later. So why do you think all doctors were yelling to zombies to eat them on first day is kind of funny.
Yes, not all sick people would survive. But those with delicate medical needs would already be dead by now, either zombie food or simple by lack of medical care. For the rest they can handle it quite well.
And people like the soldiers that have high levels now also have high vitality/endurance, reducing the need for medical assistance.
@kalscribblehub why do i say all medics in hospitals died in 'day 0'? Well, take a look in the show. How many people have escaped when infection gets in the school? One micro-bus out of 700 or so people. And school is not the number one place people would come to during the work time, unlike hospitals. Plus the school from the show was quite distant from the rest of the city. Unlike hospitals again. And how many adults from that school has escaped? Two. And Adults in the school is more or less med personal in hospitals. Proportionally.
The city has 500.000 people. 2 to 1000 = 1000 docs was in the city. Usually at the same time worked 60-70% of med personal (= ~600 doctors died). The rest was on holidays. Out of that 30-40% +-20-30% were out of home so they not survived either. So out of ALL med workers survived 20-25% (= 80 - 100 doctors ) most. But who of these 25% was a surgeon, who was a psychologist and who was standing in the reception? Nobody knows. And that only 'day 0'. How many of them made it out of the city? How many made it to the MLDW and not different camp? So out of that 100 you can cut 70 without hesitations. And that's a 'best case scenario'.
Medical supplies will ends sooner or later and they cannot produce new ones due the lack of raw materials which not producing anymore on Earth.
They need 10-50 years to gain new herbs and Alex'll leave for unknown amount of time, so that means no more useful potions.
About high level people also not so bright as leveling up them, so does zombies and they doing that faster. Humans have firearms, but it can help only that much. When times comes to the 8L or 9L strength zombies i seriously doubt that anything less than a tank round will do anything to them with the pace they do now. So casualties will increase in the future. And after year or so i assume that hordes will start to migrate. And those hordes would be a lot and a lot harder than current one. Just imagine if two intelligent zombies L5 combines their forces? And how about 5 L7's? One L8, three L6's and 6 L5's? I would be the everlasting ocean of people. And at the very least 40% would be evolved ones. Even MLDW will not stand that.
@Alinterelins yeah you are just using random statistics now, you know that right? The anime/series was a drama and it killed most of the school kids to create the setting. If the mortality rate on day 1 was similar to what happened in there, then there would not be 50,000+ survivors around. 20 or so kids in a school with 1000?
When they visited one hospital, as an example, they didnt have to fight that much inside it.
The military personal should have docs with them, and those are now part of the group too.
The lab group was quite big and they had 0 causalities.
@kalscribblehub You guys are so in depth. I dont remember the detail. But crisis do create trouble, and those kind situation mostly lead to trust issue. And i think the story more focused on bigger picture and his harem than the appocalypse as its multi world after all.
We can see from how girls sell their body for food explained as if it is natural. Not their stress for selling their body and suffering hard life. Or what and how corrupt people do. Or the science behind the appocalypse itself.
@Erlon I disagree. The girls/boys working on the pink area have the law protecting them. They are not selling tricks besides the road, they are all high class workers. They get high pay (food, housing, etc). Clients cant use violence. It is a job. Not different from soldiers fighting zombies, or lab workers with skills to make medicine.
Its different on the second town where people were starving to death and the corrupt people were forcing girls to become s*x slaves.
Magic Land provides housing and food for everyone.
- Refuges get the short end of it (communal housing and lower ration), but they don't starve and they have the option to get a job and improve. They get security, medicine, training, etc, all free.
- Work class gets private housing and more food. They can sustain a small family (wife/husband/kids).
- Soldier class gets extra food, housing and can keep a larger family (like 2 wives or 2 husbands, plus kids).
There is school, clinic, tech work on labs (hardware and medicine), military/security, and other works like construction, fishing/hunting, etc. The people in ML are likely having a life style that is better than what most would have in our world today, and about the same as rich countries.
And that is the point of the story. To slowly build a new society, reconquer the land, etc, and eventually take back Japan and the world (think decades to thousand years in the future). This world should become a crystal farm for the MC as people adapt to the new rules.
You mentioned the big picture. I agree with that. But there are plenty of elements in the story that show how they handle the day to day. Often its a report, side commentary/conversation or part of the speech. Its not a series centered on kingdom building, its more an action series with a harem and LitRPG (pretty bad one too lol).
-> example: MC doesnt visit the school often. But he built it, he uses it as a orphanage/education center, he put an experienced teacher (later one of his waifus) as head administrator and he has the reports to know that they have the supplies, workers (teachers, people to take care of the children, etc) and that they kids are doing well.
@kalscribblehub Such a long explanation. I have no comment on that more because i dont really into detail explanation from fantasy and story review stuff. Pretty convincing so you might be good for reviewer. And i do like how this story progress and political stuff (not the harem, though passed for the romance).
