// Messages. //

A hooded figure appeared underneath a secret hideout.
A place filled with books, tools, and ornament carrying old history.

The person walked in these corridors to finally meet an old caretaker of its place.

An old man with a dragon-like tail and a single horn his eyes had a calm color in it despite carrying eyes of a beast.

As the hooded figure then asked with a womanly voice.

"You called me here out of urgency.
There better have a good reason for this.

You know how busy I am with all the work piled up."

She scanned the area and see's only the old man.

"Anzel." She called his name and groaned a bit.

"Her majesty aren't here.
This better be a joke.
Why did you call me alone in this abandoned old place?"

The old man laughed at her words a bit.

"Because I need your help."

"You better be joking!
I got enough trouble in my hands!"

"Don't worry...
I promise you,
This task will be something of great importance."

As the old man, Anzel turned and walked forward.
The hooded figure then retorted.

"How important is it compared to the things I've been doing!?"

The old man paused and sighed.

"There is an odd message in the main communication array in this place."

"!?" a surprise dawned on the hooded figure's face.

"You are aware that the communication relay here can only be used by a few handfuls of people?
Its been three centuries!

Most of those who knew how to use it are either dead or already have forgotten this decrypted place!

You're the only one here stubborn enough to live so long that you still care about this long-forgotten place!"

The old man simply grinned as she said those words.

"I'd agree with what you said.
However, the reason I remain here is to preserve and cherish her work.

Even if she.
Who owned this place is no longer here.

I still believe that one day someone will carry her the place where she stood once again."

As he said those words they soon reached a corridor as illuminating lights on the walls that seemed like energy seem to flow towards the room they were heading.

"You and your old hopes and dreams." the figure retorts.

But the old man simply smiled at her words as she was led into the room.
The person's eyes widen as she saw the place was filled with activity.

"Anzel...
You really maintained this deserted place on your own didn't you?"

"I can't allow this place to crumble.
Now then...

I don't need to explain what you need to do here is there?" he replied.

The hooded figure walked towards the station and saw the active lights.
Written in stones and a magical slab of ancient writing that seemed to glow with power.

The figure touched them as the writing flew in the air as the figure read it.

"Is there anyone there?" were the first few words.

Then...
A series of at least 106 names came out of it.

The hooded figure stopped and took a few steps backward.

"This is...
Impossible." The figure then turned towards Anzel.
Aren't these the names of the people who formerly worked here?

Surely, this is an illusion.
Who on earth would be able to send such a message in a place like this!?"

Anzel nodded to her.

"I have worked in this place for three centuries.
This communication array is made by a single person who often used it for long-distance communication.

Allowing the smooth transition of information by our former experts.

Only a few people know of this and are kept a deeply held secret of our home.

However...
Because of the difficulty of using it.
Not even the current heads and military personnel of this nation could properly understand how it functions due to the complicated requirements of sending mere messages to this place.

Because this was merely a prototype by that certain genius.

Thanks to that person the City of Stella is now able to operate with great secrecy dealing with corruption and to improved our information gathering techniques allowing us to crush fools who had betrayed our kingdom."

The hooded figure retorted to his words.

"I'm not here for a history lesson old man.

I want to know who sent this message!
Is this an old acquintance of yours playing tricks and wasting my time like this?"

Anzel then began to laugh loudly but then chocked a bit from her words.

*Cough* *cough*

"Ha-ha-ha... do you really think.
I have time for pranks?

I wouldn't have called you here if I was here to make jokes.

And no...
This message and the way its created.
It was too finely made that when I replied to that person.

I knew...
I needed your help."

Anzel walked to where she stood and activate the slab's second message as it floated in the air.
It formed letters each one as it created it.

"This is the records of my conversation with this mysterious sender."

...

[Who ever this is...
Answer now.] -Anzel.

[My name is...]

[Estel Rue.]

As the hooded figure saw the writing she fell on her butt and with a pale expression was completely baffled as though she saw a ghost.

[Who ever this is...

I need you...
To work with great secrecy...

Let none of this message reaches the ears of your kingdom.
I do not wish to cause trouble or disorder.

However...
While you may not believe me.

I need a bit of assistance.]

[You are aware...
That the name you speak of, is already long forgotten.]

[I understand.
It is hard to believe.

That such a person has returned from the grave...

Though my body is no longer that of a demi-human.
Know that I still trust the people who worked in this place.

Even after three decades have passed.
There should be at least one person there that would surely...

Believe these messages.]

[Speak of his name.] Anzel replied.

[Anzel Quadrei.]

[Understood.
I will help, what do you ask of me?]

[I left traces of my mana in this message.
Surely you can send one of your people to aid me?]

[Yes.
Your majesty.]

Were the last message sent by Anzel.

"This is...
Unbelievable.

This was not forged by you is it?"

Anzel laughed and smiled at the hooded figure as she tries to deny it.

"Denial is the first thing to experience when facing the unnatural.
But, I can understand why she wished to keep it all a secret."

To which the hooded figure.

"Shouldn't you be telling this to your king and queen?
Isn't this lese-majeste to your kingdom and people?"

Anzel shrugged...

"What good will that do?
The only thing that would happen is inciting fear.

The person is no longer a demi-human.
But you should be aware that the person who once owned this place.

Who created the prosperity!
We have right now!

Is no longer a demi-human.

Now imagine...
What would happen if they discover the person we served as a beacon and a goddess.

Were to return in this era as a different person."

She swallowed her saliva and understood it.

"They would undoubtedly send assasins to keep themselves at the helm of the throne.
To prevent disorder and chaos from rising amongst the populace.

No... it would even lead to conflict rising and agreements and competition if this new's were to spread.

But-"

Anzel cut her off and replied. "It could be a trap?"

"Yes."

"Then crush it with all you have.
I doubt humans can stop you if you were to choose to rampage in their lands."

She scratched her head inside her hood.

"You are aware of how much trouble that would cause!?"

Anzel then gazed at a distant to the silent halls of which he served.

"You are the only one who can do this..."

"I have watched this place for so long.
I have grown old.

You youths of the new era are her only hope.

My grand-daughter, please go and aid her.
While I perhaps may be betraying my homeland by keeping it a secret.

Be aware that the person which was renowned as a goddess of our race.
Was someone who has restored the disorder that nearly led to our extinction.

She carried immense knowledge of our kingdom.
If people of this world were to discover this fact.

They would undoubtedly aim for her life."

She kneeled to the old man and said.

"Yes, grandfather..."

He smiled then placed his hand on top of her head.
Then they moved to certain room.

Known as the Gates.

Magical writings which creates Portals to transfer people and object in exchange for vast energy.

"I will open the gate.
It's already been at least 2 weeks.

She has stopped responding to my messages.
Something must have happened.

I placed the traces of her mana into this sphere.
It tracks the destination of the person's magical energy."

Anzel handed it to her.

"Follow it and it will lead you to her.

Based on the message it was sent to...
It appears to be in Havel.

Quite a large distance from our home.
There were already odd rumours about an immense powerful spirit being summoned there.

Which I can only assume it is her work.

Your task is to go to her and keep her safe.
Hopefully, you can bring her back here in one piece without being discovered."

"Hey wait...
Didn't we send people there already?
It's been three years since that event occurred!"

"Odd...
But it only means that she is stuck in a position where she can't travel perhaps?

That person is quite childish and quite pragmatic.
Don't provoke her if you find her.

We don't know what kind of appearance she will take.
So take care..."

"What about my work?"

"I will tell them, to send your work here.
I will cover for you."

"That doesn't sound so assuring."

Her grandfather laughed as she stood in a magic circle set up.

"Take care of her for me, my grand-daughter."

He pulls the lever and she was sent off.
The floor she stood on sucked her in as it was closed in an instant the moment she fell.

"Hopefully, this wouldn't escalate too far."

...

...

...

*Crash*

With Glistening silver hair and silver eyes, she crashes into an old church of the city in Havel.

The place she stood made cracks on the ground and one people of the church swiftly rushed to see who came.

"Huh?
Pureblood has come to visit!?"

She swiftly moved to closed the person's mouth.

"Sorry for the drop by...
I'm currently on a mission."

She wore her hood back on and stood to shrug the dust off her clothes.

"This place is quite dusty.
But I suppose my people rarely visited."

"But why are you here then?"
The church worker asked.

"I am here only temporarily."

She then pulled out a sack and pulled 5 coins.

"Renovate and improve this place." she swiftly left the room through the door.

"De-demi-human coins!?"

The church person's eyes went wide open as it carried immense value.
before being able to thank her for her donation.

Her figure was already long gone.

I think, I might send this story into a hiatus.
Deep inside I'm slowly growing insane just by writing it.
(I'll probably slack off again to calm my nerves to give the proper content.)

Because I feel like the quality dropped. LMAO.
