CHAPTER 56: HOW COULD YOU!!

ORIGINAL Author: Chaos

SPINOFF Author: Vester

“You were safe at Shanghai, so why did you come back??” Mo Fan asked. He was confused. She should’ve been safe in Shanghai, so why did she come back?

He had deliberately sent her, Ye Xinxia and Mo Jiaxing before all this had started to keep them away and safe from it.

But for some reason Mu Ningxue had come back... He was not able to comprehend why she didn’t stay back at Shanghai.

“Huh? What are you talkin—!”

Mu Ningxue didn’t understood what he meant, she had a confused expression on her face, but she suddenly remembered about their conversation from the night before the Coming of the age ceremony, which had happened a week ago now.

“I didn’t think the planes were still working when the airport is literally on the Northern… side of the… city…” Mo Fan felt weird as he spoke and he glanced towards the airport in the city which on the Northern side… right where the Monsters were invading the city from…

His eyes widened as he came to a realization! All the planes had long stopped working as everyone in the city were evacuated, only those people were left who were old and stubborn and refused to leave their homes.

Not only that but since the Crimson Alert was sounded in Bo City, all the commercial and domestic flights flying to Bo City from other cities were prohibited and cancelled from flying anywhere near the City!

A chill of terror ran through his spine and heart! A drop of sweat trickled from his forehead all the way to his chin and fell down.

Drop…

His eyes were filled with terror as he turned his head and glanced at Mu Ningxue.

Her perfect picturesque face of an immortal like beauty was riddled with horror as she finally discerned why Mo Fan had told her to take his family to Shanghai, which she completely forgot about…

Mo Fan immediately knew his answer when he saw the look on her face… but he still went ahead and asked… “Mu Ningxue… You… didn’t take my family to Shanghai, did you…”

He did not call her affectionately like he usually did. His voice sounded hollow and trembled a little.

Mu Ningxue in response didn’t dare to look at Mo Fan. She immediately looked away. She couldn’t summon the courage to meet his gaze.

A shiver of dread coursed through Mo Fan’s heart. His trembling hands mirrored the unsteadiness that clouded his vision.

Clenching his jaw, Mo Fan seized her slender and beautiful shoulders in fury, shouting, “How could you!”

His voice carried a hint a power as the wind raging on the rooftop suddenly became calm and vanished and his shout echoed into everyone’s ears clearly.

Nobody, not even Mu Zhuoyun who was standing besides them dared to utter a single word. Even the soldiers nearby halted in their tracks. They were thoroughly astonished by the power his voice carried. They all stood like statues as they watched the young couple staring at each other…

Mu Ningxue trembled when she heard his desperate and pained voice. Confronted with his anguished look, she gazed at him silently, unable to muster a single word in reply. It was her first time seeing Mo Fan make such an expression…

She felt a dull pain in her shoulders which were held by Mo Fan but she didn’t articulate a single voice… Unable to avert her gaze from his visage, she felt her heart constrict with pain, captivated by his expression.

“I trusted you…” Mo Fan uttered… as he loosened his grip from her shoulders and let her go…

“Ah…” Mu Ningxue watched him as he turned his back on her and swiftly exit through the door leading to downstairs.

Her arm which was extended towards his direction was stopped by her before it could grab his shirt’s sleeve… What right did she have to stop him…

She quietly pulled her hand back as she hung her head.

Her Dad Mu Zhuoyun was utterly confused as to what was happening, but nonetheless his daughter comes first. “Xue’er does it hurt? Damn that brat! How dare he manhandled you! Guards! Capture him!” he immediately yelled at the guards.

The soldiers nearby were conflicted as to what to do. Mo Fan was clearly stronger than them, and right now his mentality was not really stable. He could very well clap them into oblivion if he wanted to, without batting an eye.

They nodded their head while looking at each other and decided not to make a move.
