This system is terrible.

Born in a land of destiny and fate, where everyone learns their future job at the age of six, and begins training. I was granted the job of Curse Caster. A support job everyone considered useless.

According to scripture, god blesses everyone with a job that suits them. According to scripture, all jobs are valuable. Yet everyone calls support jobs useless, and there’s no training classes for them. Why?

Since I had a “useless” job, people largely ignored me, and I was free to do as I liked. Unwilling to accept my fate, I ran around asking for more information. Why are Warriors so well loved? Why do Elementalists get so much pay? Eventually I found an answer to what I really wanted to know.

“Every job grows stronger by defeating monsters. Any job that is bad at defeating monsters on their own, is considered trash because it’s too hard to improve.”

“I can kill monsters though! My curses can do more than just weaken monsters!”

“Have you actually tried hunting monsters in the wild when groups go out? You’ll quickly figure it out if you do, I think.”

He was right. The lethal curses are much too slow. When I join a hunting party, enemies would be slain by someone else. To defeat them myself, I’d need to go alone. That’s too dangerous though.

I ended up dedicating myself to magical research. Studying everything I could find in the library on curses. Studying everything I could find on the full range of spell modification. Everything that doesn’t require gaining job levels by killing monsters. Eventually, I found a solution.

A contagious lethal curse. Just need to cast it once on an enemy and run away, and let it spread to others. It worked extremely well. Too well in fact. Gaining job levels seemed wonderful at the beginning, but it made that spell stronger despite having already been cast long ago. While this seemed like a benefit at first, resulting in my leveling speeding up, it didn’t take too many years for the problem to reveal itself.

At first it was just reports of people needing curse removal more often than before. Eventually though, it became reports of entire towns dying. I didn’t make the connection at first. However, when I gained the title: Humanity’s Doom, I realized what had happened.

It’s too late now. I can make and spread powerful curses, the most powerful the world has ever seen, but I can’t do anything to stop them. At this point, all my job levels have enhanced my curses to affect even plants and golems. The entire world is turning into a lifeless cursed wasteland.

Seriously: Who designed this system? It’s terrible! … I wonder if I can curse god.
