Jessica is visibly growing, but it's like watching a snail crawl. Still, I stay and watch, fascinated, for the entire six hours the process takes. Pound by pound, the scale goes up. Inch by inch, her new wings grow to match her first set. Little by little, her height increases. Her skin also ever so slowly takes on a mirror finish, and she develops a second set of balloons on her chest. And she does keep her meat member, which scales up as she grows.  Her hair, red before, slowly shifts to the color of rubies.

Long before she's done, I know what she's becoming: The six wings and the shiny skin were a dead giveaway. She was half-angel before; she's all-angel now. A Solar, the single most powerful type of non-unique angel in the core game, sometimes rumored to be children, consorts, or spouses of the true deities… and given how Jessica came to be one, well... I can believe that now.

Of course, what does that say about me?

I figure she's about ready to wake up when Jessica stops growing, at nine foot, three inches, and… well, it’s not polite to speak of a lady's weight. But after she's stable for a good fifteen minutes, I craft some suitable clothing for her with Clothier's Closet, Fabricate a blanket for her, and try to wake my lover.

"Hey Beautiful, did you sleep well?"

She stretches and yawns, her wings hitting all four walls of the room, and that gives Jessica pause as she gives an uncertain, "Yes…" in a strong, commanding voice that reverberates off the walls.  The freshly-minted Solar opens her eyes, which while green before, now look like emeralds in the sun, her face currently pointed at the ceiling, "Did you move me my goddess? This room seems so small…"

My heart sinks a little as I answer, "I did, but not to another room. You've grown, and changed. Would you like a mirror?"

"Don't trouble yourself my goddess, I'm your servant, and there's one…" she trails off, and scrunches her face a little, "... I'm acting differently. And speaking differently. And I'm fine with being a servant. I just… have that mindset now. What… the milk?"

I cringe, "Best as I can figure. Probably a bad idea to let anyone have a third dose."

She nods as she sits up, her face smoothing out, putting her eyes about level with mine. She doesn't bother covering herself with the blanket. "Probably best not to let anyone have two. After the second I wanted more so badly, and it was right there…. I'm sorry for taking what wasn't mine, my goddess."

I cringe again, "Would you please stop calling me that?"

She chuckles, "It would bother you, wouldn't it? Sorry sweetness, I won't call you… call you… huh. I can't say it now."

Definitely no second doses, and ABSOLUTELY NO thirds again. "I'm going to need to be careful what I say, won't I?"

"It would seem your word is absolute, so yes."

Right… "It's OK if you refer to me as your goddess with other people, and even with me sometimes, but please generally avoid it when talking with me directly." Mind you, this is really just putting a poster over a hole on the wall… the subservience problem is still there, it's just less obvious.

Jessica chuckles, "That will serve, I think. It's odd… I want to be your servant and do your will, whatever that may be. And it doesn't bother me that I do. Yet I know it would have terrified me that I'd be changed like that…" she pauses, "And I did it to myself. Neither of us knew what would happen. You tried to stop me, even. I practically begged you to let me. This is NOT your fault."

Apparently I'm easy to read when I'm not trying to hide something… "I still let you, and we both have to live with the consequences."

"This isn't too bad… I can Change on my own now…" she turns herself into a normal sized woman, going for an Arabian look, "And I'll do anything you ask, whatever you wish, your own personal genie… oh, I can do Wishes now!"

Ah, "So you're figuring out your new abilities as they occur to you, then… well, you have a lot of them, so let's shortcut this…" I go over what I remember of Solars with Jessica, including pulling up their entry on d20pfsrd.com to make certain I have the details right. Like, I'd forgotten that Solars get Animate Objects as an at-will… which goes particularly well with their three per day Permanency to make armies of weak fodder during down-time. And the casting - Cleric-20.  Second best spell list in the game, and doesn’t have to worry about finding sources of spells like the Wizard does, she can just change her loadout daily.  I mean, in practice, most folks don’t change their spell loadout much: They pick a set of spells that works well for them, and stick with it, as the effort needed to properly pick a list is painful… but she can.  Of course, there is a small issue…

“So… I’m supposed to have a bow, sword, and armor?”

“It’s in the entry, so yeah… definitely should get you a bow at least, as those Slaying Arrows are handy.  The armor and sword…” I look at her… puppy dog eyes… “we can do far more optimal than Full Plate.  You’ve got a good Dexterity score, better to make use of it.  Here, let’s get you buffed up…”

I go ahead and update her buff list - and because I actually have the Bonded Mind feat, I can give her the give her Bonded Mind feat via Enable Function and use the Share Spells feat to giver her personal range buffs as well - which means she can benefit from my ENTIRE buff routine.  Well, other than the little issue that she now has more hit dice than I do, so she can’t get FULL ranks in all skills.  Still… she’s quite a good vehicle for buffs, and I can give her basically all of the useful ones that won’t interfere with normal life.

Mind you, being omnicompetent can interfere with normal life, and she is that now.  There’s very, very little she won’t be able to accomplish.  And I do use my instant crafting trick with a Time Clone to give her a bow, greatsword, and armor.  Not the very vanilla ones in the default entry, of course.  Those are… less than optimal.  But thanks to Attuned Mysticism Fell Animate Greater Magic Weapon (and the same with Mythic Magic Vestments), she does have seven points of Enhancement bonus on her sword, bow, and armor.  Plus as many of the special abilities as we could squeeze in (and spells help with that, too, especially Arcane Forge, but there’s actually plenty of others).  I also set her up with a quiver of arrows for when a Slaying arrow isn't what she wants (with Abundant Ammunition and several buff spells on the quiver to improve the arrows, of course). Her armor ends up being Gnomish Twist Cloth, as that's pretty much the only way to keep up with her dexterity after all the buffs, while still permitting me to dump a bunch of useful armor properties on her. As a bonus, the AC applies to touch as well… after I give her the feat for it, anyway. I don't even need to add Sizing, as the Polymorph subschool adjusts size of non-melded equipment.

I also end up redoing her magical tattoos in the process, going from a weapon tattoo to the Hidden Sword tattoo, as that one has a clause for multiple weapons… which is good, as she'll need to hold her composite longbow, greatsword, and Pistol of the Infinite Sky. By making the quivers invisible, using arrowheads done via the Ironwood spell, and adding the Quieting Weapons spell, she can take those almost anywhere as well.

"Hey, should we check my other abilities too?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, when you granted me divine spells, you mentioned it came up like Gestalt, and I had the abilities matching the levels I'd already gained, right?"

"... and you think this might have pushed those up to match your new form? Yeah, we can check that. Do you have a level notice waiting?"

"Similar, yes… oh, wow. Level 23? That's quite the jump."

"It is, yes. I'll let you make your own decisions for feats and Lady Kitten…"

Jessica gets to work, and when she's done, summons Lady Kitten… who is now Huge, has wings, and her tail looks more muscular than it did.

I pause, "Why the wings? Buffs from me can give her quite the flight speed already."

"Because they look cool, and make a suitable vehicle for some wing attacks to round things out. The tail is there for the same reason. Secondary weapons, but eh, looks nicer than sticking arms on her, and she has that human form you gave her previously. She'll also be able to help out as a combat medic thanks to the fast healing from your buffs and the Sacrifice option."

Which means unlimited healing for simple injuries for anyone with her, at least outside of combat. "Sensible enough. Here, let me buff her up…" I update Lady Kitten's buffs as well - including my Profane Gift and the ensuing Shapechange, because of being able to make her treated as fey via Share Link from the Fallen Fey sphere, and then use Attuned Mysticism based on that. I also manage to get them both hooked up with Regeneration from the nature sphere's Eternal Steel buff - Grant Spirit and Nature's Carapace let me treat them as metal creatures long enough to apply it … and I then cancel Nature's Carapace, as the metal version is horrible otherwise compared to other options for AC. Why Regeneration when they already have fast healing and Delay Death?  Because it handles loss of limbs.

Of course, so would that ring that the old Don Hanlon stole … and I can make things faster now. I really need to test that…
