“Oh I see...Wait...WHAT!?” The previously calm Jun suddenly became shocked as he took in the information.

Ever since meeting Sage, Jun had always tried to keep his distance, even though he spent a lot of his time as Sage’s secretary, Jun still tried to keep a clear line between their relationship.

So when Sage uttered her previous sentence, the line between boss and subordinate Jun had tried so hard to maintain suddenly snapped. He had always kept a distance, however, somewhere deep down, he had already fallen deep in love.

Unbeknownst to Sage, everyday Jun carefully observed her, when she ate a lot of one dish he tried to implement similar flavors. When she didn’t eat other food, although she never said anything, Jun knew she wasn’t too fond of the foods flavor. When she didn’t eat certain vegetables, he tried to mix them into the food so that she would still maintain a balanced diet.

As a secretary, he went above and beyond, but it wasn’t for the jobs sake though, rather, he did it all for Sage.

He thought he would be fine as long as he could be by her side but after hearing that Sage loved another, his heart started to tremble and the invisible wall he had built up in order to protect himself immediately crumbled.

“W-why are you going to see him?” Jun stammered, his dark eyes becoming murky and darker by the minute.

Ever since the two met in this world Jun had been putting up a barrier, this lead the Villain to indifferently wonder if Jun was finally going to betray her. Thinking this, the Villain had decided to taunt him a little as her cold misty eyes gleamed towards the poor man.

“That’s a secret.” The Villain lightly hummed.

Jun’s eyes turned even more cloudy.

“Ah, but as your secretary, shouldn’t I know?” Sneakily Jun asked, desperately hoping that Sage would answer him this time.

However the Villain was on another wave-length, as thoughts of Jun trying to betray her only filled her mind.

Sure, she was immune to acts of betrayal and couldn’t be bothered to feel anything when it happened. That didn’t mean she’d calmly let it happen though.

“It is for personal business, unrelated to V-tech, therefore, you need not know.” Her cold words cut deep into Jun’s heart as he silently cursed his previous distant self.

Juns dark eyes suddenly didn’t care whether his heart was trying to warn him or not, he couldn’t live if Sage were to go off and love another man.

She was the only reason he decided not to die that day...

She had done so much for him, she had saved him that day, paid his debt, took him in, given him a job, pay, a home, and for the first time in his life he had been given a purpose as he cooked for her.

If she had not found him then he never would have been able to go on living...

Every day was bliss living with her, although Sage was indifferent and emotionless to most things Jun didn’t mind. Instead it calmed his mind as she never got angry at him or looked at him with disdain like his parents and the maids had. She was his one oasis in a desert filled with hopelessness. So how could he just let her go?

Truly, without her, he was all alone in this cruel world. She was the only one who noticed his pain and suffering. The only one who was able to reach out her hand into the darkness that surrounded his heart and pull him up. She was his light.

Therefore he could not simply let her go, nor could he hand his sole light over to anyone else.

He knew he was not worthy of her especially when he couldn’t even admit his own feelings, but still he desperately sought to possess the light.

That’s why when Jun felt the pressure of his beloved being taken away from him his eyes turned vicious as the warning voice (saying to stay away from sage)  in the back of his head was completely crushed by his new thoughts of eternally staying by Sage’s side.

Yes, if he still had a chance, he would give himself wholly over to Sage, and in return all he wanted was to be the only one by her side. Thinking all this he pulled out his trump card.

“Well if that’s the case, as your secretary, can’t I at least drive you to your destination?” As her secretary, Jun often drove Sage to and from work, after all, they lived in the same place, so it only made sense to go to work together. On occasion he would also drive Sage other places whenever she asked, so why shouldn’t he drive Sage tonight? Only by doing this could he see the other man, investigate him to find his weak points Jun evilly thought.

Sage was silent for a minute before nodding her head yes in response to Jun’s question.

As the villain she knew when someone was plotting. So as she looked at Jun, right away she could tell something was up. However, unfortunately for her, she assumed he was planning to betray her. Thinking this, she didn’t feel sad or angry, only indifferent as she wondered how he planned to do so.

She became curious and decided to allow him to come.

This chapter and chapter 11 were originally the same chapter but since it was so long I decided to release it as two chapters. So that's why I released two chapters today, and it seems Jun is finally getting his butt in gear. (^▽^)/ ʸᵉᔆᵎ
