Author's Note:

Hello, everyone. This chapter would be drastically different from the one I previously made, so it took a while for me to post this one along with a lot of IRL commitments.

Anyway, I'm doing this in order to add cohesion on this chapter to the overall story since what I made in that chapter was quite out of touch compared with the other chapters.

So for now, get ready for some magic technobabble. Enjoy!

——————————————

Just before Moloch-san leave the mansion after signing our contract of cooperation, I immediately went to the front of the mansion where Moloch-san is climbing towards his carriage.

"Moloch-san! I have something to talk to you." I said as I approached him, who has now decided to come down from the carriage steps.

As I looked to my parents and Auntie Clara, the three of them smiled at me before they went back inside the mansion.

It seems that the three of them understood what I was trying to say to them. In the end, Moloch-san, the two Knights in charge of escorting Moloch-san's carriage out of the mansion, and I were the only ones left at the front lawn of the mansion.

"What is it, Emi-san?" Moloch-san responded with a neutral tone on his voice.

"Let me get this straight, Moloch-san." I said with a stern tone on my voice as I added.

"That 20/80 split between the two of us, and you even taking the brunt of the expenses needed for researching my ideas.

It's obvious that there's a reason for you to do all of this. A hidden one at that. Am I right, Moloch-san?" I explained to him with a serious tone as I have my own set of suspicions as to why he did all of that.

And usually, there's only two reasons as to why he's doing that. Either he's gonna lure me with this money at hand and will decide to backstab me in this process, or he would get me deep into a business relationship in order to monopolize his magical golden egg-laying goose that I am, at the moment.

Suddenly, he smiled at me as if he was staring at such a cute little thing and said.

"Impressive deductive skills, Emi-chan. I did have an underlying reason for that contract " As he said that, he then approached me and kneeled on the ground as he patted my head and asked me a question.

"Have you calculated how much a gold coin is worth in this kingdom, Emi-chan?" He asked me with an amicable tone of his.

What do those gold coins value? After being with Auntie Clara since she's the head maid of this mansion, I have already know how the economics work in here.

Coins are generally the most valued currency made by the Holy Empire of Sirussiya that can be used for international and local currency denominator... or in short, common money.

A gold coin here in this world is comparable to around 1,000 US dollars or almost 150,000 Japanese yen which could last me a month outside Central Tokyo with rent covered. But it's meaningless to compare when a gold coin would actually last a commoner family of four a year without thinking about rents.

A copper coin in this world is equal to around 1 dollar or almost 150 yen. 100 copper coins are needed to have a silver coin (100 USD/15,000 JPY) which 10 of those silver coins would be equivalent to around a gold coin.

There are also those things called "large gold coins" and "white gold coins" which are equivalent to around 100 gold coins (100,000 USD/15 million JPY) and 1,000 gold coins (1 million USD/150 million JPY) respectively, although those coins are on a limited circulation around the world.

"Of course, I know. What's got to do with this, though?" I asked in a confused and doubtful manner as he answers my question.

"Your idea alone, when patented, would be valued equal to that of the state coffers of the Holy Empire, if not greater than it.

20% in itself is enough for me to be world's second richest person." Moloch-san said with an excited look on his face as I was quite surprised that he said that straight to me.

To think that this patent alone may very well be so world-changing that it would change the landscape of everything in this world.

Though because of that realization, I knew that everything else that I've been planning would be quite costly.

My thoughts broke when he then stood up and turned away from my presence as he said something that shook me.

"Well... This is my way to help my goddaughter, after all." He chuckles as he boarded the carriage as it left the mansion.

Moloch-san... is my godfather?

That's... unexpected...

——————————————

I turned five years old this year, in which 2 years has already passed since then.

And with that, it's only 9 months before I would officially become Clarence's personal maid which is something that I expected to happen. But that's not what I'm here in the mansion today.

It's for another matter entirely...

"Ah, Moloch-san. Please sit down. Her Royal Highness Diana-sama and Sir Edmund-sama just left for a prior commitment at the royal palace in Vienna." I received him from the front as Auntie Clara is currently in charge of the mansion, and is busy preparing for Moloch-san's arrival.

"Ah, thank you Emi-chan. But it's you I'm here for." He said as the two of us went our way to the reception room.

With Auntie Clara leaving to get some light snacks, I and Moloch-san were sitting on the sofa in the reception room.

"For me? Then what brings you here today, Moloch-san...?" I asked curiously.

"I've intercepted a rumor from the frontlines. It seems that the elves from the Elievenian Confederation are researching the patent that you've made in regards to the magic stove.

They realized that if you were to engrave the fire elemental crystal that can handle a magic circle of a given intermediate class fire magic, it'll create the same result as long as one's mana is sufficient.

They're now currently building a prototype called a "magic cannon" throughout this month. What should we do about it?" Moloch-san reported to me as he started on eating the light snacks that Auntie Clara gave to him.

It's the elves who did it first, huh...? That's expected, given their high aptitude to magic.

"Moloch-san, it's no loss for us. I've already thought that something like that would happen though I didn't think that they would create something like that within 2 years." I slightly smiled as I took a sip from my teacup.

"It's really fast, isn't it...?" Moloch-san expresses his disbelief to what he heard.

"No, it's much slower than I expected..." "Ha?" When I said that after chuckling a little bit, Moloch-san had an unexpected reaction to what I just said.

"Slow? 2 years is that slow?" He asked, while his face turned stern from my statement.

Indeed... The elves from the Elievenian Confederation are primarily known to be an advanced magic-based civilization that existed after the defeat of the Demon Lord, 5,000 years ago. Well... It's pretty advanced relative to the countries like the Holy Empire, and the not to the likes of our Altair Kingdom as we're a minor kingdom.

But the problem was that the elves isolated themselves after their Great Magus Elftraut died at around 2,000 years after defeating the First Demon Lord so there are still no records existing outside for any elf-related matters after that time.

To see them developing something like that after two years is something that could've taken around a year, given the urgency with the Demon Lord manner.

Though if they themselves have already thought about the magic cannon, then it means that guns themselves have now existed in this world in the form of cannons and artillery fire.

That's major progress for me, and for the world's development of weapons that are made to defeat the Demon Lord and its army.

"Nevermind about that, Moloch-san. Never tell anyone that you told me this information. Though, if Auntie Clara finds that out through other means, I'm fine with that." I said in a nonchalant tone as I sighed a little bit.

Anyway, it's just the usual confidential matter now.

"A-Alright... You have my word for it, my goddaughter." Moloch-san's eyes sighed after saying that.

To think that this calculative-looking guy is actually my godfather...

I shrugged it off as I moved on to a different topic now.

"Anyways, Moloch-san... I have some ideas that you can implement based on the magic stove and the refrigerators..."

"O-hoooo? What could those ideas be, Emi-chan...?" He asked with a curious tone on his voice.

"A lot of things to be honest... It's a magic tool that would be like a baking oven, but it's using fire crystals to heat up inside the oven in order to make light snacks which nobles would really want in their kitchen rooms." I said as I took the parchment with the blueprints for a magic oven and gave it to Moloch-san for him to check its viability.

The main reasoning for this idea would be that I need Moloch-san's company to reach a favorable impression to every noble within the Altair Kingdom.

With the possibility of a civil war happening in several years, I think that it's something that I need to keep observing to deter them from hindering my progress.

Garnering a favorable impression to the nobles from those who visit the Celestia Duchy isn't enough to do so since it's usually the Royalist faction who were visiting often here while the Noblist faction is basically rivaling one another.

That's the reason why I can use Moloch-san's magic tool company to not just garner a favorable impression, but with Moloch-san's excellent information-gathering skills as long as Moloch-san's magic tool company would have a favorable impression to every noble within the kingdom.

"I see... So we're going to the high-end market for the nobles now, aren't we...?" He asked with a neutral look on his face.

"Ah, indeed... I'm sure that the nobles would love it. Especially for baking snacks that would be consumed during a tea party." I said in a confident manner. Being inside a noble household, we've had our fair share of noble visitors in this mansion.

"Is it related to why I'm seeing you in a maid outfit right now, Emi-chan...?" Moloch-san then smiled teasingly as he points out the maid outfit that I wore today.

"How in the world did that connect from us talking about new ideas for appliances, to you just realizing that I'm wearing a maid outfit...?" I retorted as I made a pout expression.

A few moments of silence later, the two of us chuckled from this as I then said to him.

"Seems like our business venture worked too much." I said while chuckling a little bit.

"Oh yes, Emi-chan. I also came here for you to check our profit account from the first year that we sold these magic tools.

Don't be surprised of what I'm about to show you, okay?" Moloch-san said as he then pulls out a 15-page papers clipped together by a paper clip from his <Item Box>.

When he gave it to me, I started reading its contents.

After reading the monthly reports as it progresses through every month, the more surprise I have until I turn to the last page of the paper which tabulated every profit that we have for this year.

Civilian Magic Tools Division - Annual Net Profit: 441 white gold coins, 6 large gold coins, 77 gold coins, and 53 silver coins.

W-What? What in the world...

65 billion yen?!?!?! (A/N: 441 million US Dollars.)
