“What the fuck now?!” I blurted out as I was shaken awake. My mind was still reeling from all the new memories I had received. Though I still didn’t remember what caused my memory to be lost, or what I had been doing in this DC World, or…much of any of the details, I still felt like I had a firmer grasp on my place in this world.

As I looked around I noticed that I wasn’t being shaken awake by a person. Rather the bed I was on was shaking. “This thing has a vibrate setting?” I asked.

“Its the entire inn you idiot!” Tabi growled as she stretched out to keep balance. Her blue and black hair standing on end she looked like a real cat, not the city destroying tailed-beast she supposedly was.

“Fuck,” I said, getting off the bed. She was right, the floor boards and everything were shaking. Pushing out my sensory…energy…thing, I felt the energy around me. Tabi had called it my Observation Haki, though it wasn’t on my Status Screen I had supposedly learned to use the skill no matter what world I was in. I was so good at it that my body instinctively sensed everything around me, which was a source of pride in my book.

My senses expanding out. I felt a massive amount of…something in the next room. “That’s Raven’s room,” I said moving for the door. As I did a black tendril of power burst into my door, followed by another half-dozen that looked like magical tentacles. I raised my hands but hesitated. They weren’t going for me, they were simply wiggling in the air. I could see more of them out in the hallway, trying to reach as far as possible.

“What is with you and getting attacked by tentacles?” Tabi asked.

“Is this a normal theme?” I asked, picturing something nasty.

“Sure seems like it,” she said, jumping to my shoulder. She sat upright, regal as ever, her chest puffed out, then spit a stream of blue and black flame at the tendrils.

“AAAAH!” A demonic voice screamed then let out a loud screech. The tendrils Tabi attacked pulled back then more ventured into our room.

“Stop standing here like an idiot and go find their source,” Tabi said.

“Right,” I said. I pushed the tendrils away from me and I felt my strength weaken. I nearly stumbled to the ground as I let go and fell back.

“Use Nen, it should protect you from the tentacles draining your strength,” she ordered.

“I don’t know how!” I yelled back, crab-walking away from the tendrils that had me.

“Fuck,” she spat along with another bout of flame. This was far stronger and touched the tendrils only to spread along their length into the hall. The tentacles pulled back and I followed after them. In the hall, Tabi spit fire at everything in her view. Another demonic screech was let out from Raven’s room.

With a path open I rushed in to find Constantine already there. He was wrapped up by the tentacles like a snake constricting a victim. My Haki could actually feel energy leaving him into the…I saw Raven’s bed. Floating in the air was a black mass that felt…not good. Like it was a black hole trying to suck everything into it, pairs of black tentacles escaped the mass of darkness, trying to reach everywhere all at once.

“Fireball!” I yelled, pointing at the tentacles holding Constantine.

“I’m not a fucking Pokemon,” she hissed but did as I asked. The blue flame was almost alive as it touched the black limbs and spread to all those holding onto the magician. John was let go and he drew in a deep inhale. Dropping to the ground he was passed out. I rushed over to him, feeling that his Haki was very weak.

“How do I do anything?” I asked the cat, but she was busy spitting more fire at tentacles trying to break from the black mass of nothingness.

I was sweating profusely, feeling useless again. The strength when I was fighting the vampires was gone. Once again, I was the scared guy that couldn’t remember anything. Tabi had told me so many things I had done, some had reminded me of people from manga or comics, but no real experiences or memories like I had awoken about my fight with my sister in Naruto World. It was all just blank. A hole in my mind that I had no idea what to fill with.

My hands on Constantine I could feel he was dying somehow. A great pain in his chest, most likely not helped by being squeezed. But there was more. His entire body was aching, a constant hum of pain that radiated off of him like Haki, but different.

I turned back, Tabi was playing whack-a-mole with tentacles trying to escape the floating darkness. “Fuuuuck,” I said, closing my eyes. Rubbing my hands together I said, “Clear,” as I pushed on Constantine’s chest. Nothing happened. “Fuck,” I said, opening my eyes. I thought that would work for some reason.

“I fucking need memories,” I said, almost desperate for them. “I need to heal. I don’t know this shit. Darkness, tentacles, a girl PMSing, I’m not used to any of this. I need to help, and I can, right?” I asked myself. A tear filling my eye, I felt useless. Less than useless, I felt like I was making things worse. These people needed me, and I was taking up space by not-

It all clicked into place and I remembered. I was in a hospital. I couldn’t remember which world. On the lookout for someone, I could feel all the pain of those in the rooms around me. Wandering the halls like a ghost, trying to not be noticed, but trying to help. My Spark skill could supposedly heal people after I had fused it with Medici’s power.

That was it, Medici, medicine, a woman that supposedly lived for thousands of years, experimenting on people, living as a tyrant sometimes, and always escaping justice. I had taken her power and killed her. My sense of justice beyond compare to any of the other worlds I had been to. I had been a man like…I couldn’t remember who, like a great hero. I wanted to be someone that people looked up to, gave people hope when they came to save the day. I wanted to be the hero that saved the world.

I stopped hesitating and entered a room. A small boy was wearing a cast, laughing with his parents. They were all smiling, nothing but joy in the room, but I felt it in his body. The ache as the nerves in his arm screamed to not be in this pain. I made up some story about a final exam before the boy was released. My hand coated in electricity I sent it into his arm, and his arm did what I told it to. Fixing itself in only a few seconds.

The boy said it felt a lot better and the ache subsided. I left the room and went on to the next, it was a man in a coma. His body screamed in pain. I was able to fix some but not all. Commanding his body to do what it needed to heal then and there, and I helped. Proving that for once in my life, my power wasn’t just worthy of a sidekick. It helped people, and was far more powerful than it was before.

“Okay, way to make it gay,” I said, blushing at the weird memories. I sure as hell didn’t feel exactly that way now. Whatever version of me that was, was way too sappy for my tastes. I wanted to help, but in that world the need to be of assistance felt like my everything. I rubbed my hands together, feeling the power well up.

Pure white sparks of electricity shot out from my hands. But it wasn’t normal electricity. I didn’t feel any pain as I manipulated it. The electricity like living holy lightning. I couldn’t help but feel much stronger.

“Must be Hoken,” I said. Supposedly a mix of my Spark skill, Haki, and maybe Nen, it was an attack and my way of healing people. Gifting them my own energy to do what they normally could not.

“Clearer!” I said, pushing my hands into Constantine’s chest. He gasped as energy filled him. Aches began to stop screaming at me as much, slowly turning into an echo of pain, then nothing.

“What happened?!” He gasped, his eyes widening. I moved my hands from his chest to his shoulders to help pull him up.

“I saved your life,” I said, doubting he would have died, but I wanted this guy in my debt.

“Fuck, that’s Raven, right?” John said, seeing the black mass. Tabi stopped spitting fire and I pointed my finger like a gun at a tentacle. A black lightning bolt shot out, hitting the tentacle and making it retreat. I wasn’t exactly sure how I called the power or distinguished between attack and heal, but I was thankful it was working.

“She is far more powerful than I thought,” John said as he stood up. Unfazed by the black mass as his hands moved to touch it. When it did he pulled back, hissing like it had stung him.

“Stupid fucking vampire king knew this would happen,” he cursed to himself as he opened his trench coat. Inside I noticed a pocket that he stuck his hand in. He pulled out a golden ring like something Sonic would collect. About six inches in diameter he threw it on the bed under the mass.

Another screech was let out from inside and the darkness was pulled inward, collapsing on itself. Revealed inside was a pale girl. Completely naked, her white skin made her look like a ghost. No hair anywhere but her head, her feet were drooping down to point at us as she still floated near the ceiling.

“Pull her down,” Constantine ordered. Pulling more items from his trench coat I suspected it was some kind of spacial storage but did as he asked. Moving to the side of the bed I grabbed Raven’s hand and foot and was thrust into Hell.

All around me was screaming and pain. I was no longer in the room with John and Raven, but in literal hell. All around me were volcanoes erupting and rivers of lava.

“She is mine, Earthling,” a deep voice said. I turned to see the devil himself. At least ten stories tall, he towered over me, looking down. His arms crossed, he had red skin, horns on his head, black hair, and a goatee. He was the devil, and was very naked. A ten foot long flaccid dick pointed right at me.

As I stared at it, my face becoming more disgusted than scared as I flinched back, raising my hands to block my sight of it. “Put a fucking loincloth on or something!” I roared.

That was when I noticed I wasn’t all that scared for some reason. I couldn’t feel any heat around me. No Haki from this being, nothing. It was all just an illusion. I dropped my hands, looking back up at the beast. I seemed to remember a Teen Titans episode with this guy in it. Not the awesome well animated version, but the cheap Saturday morning cartoon version where violence was replaced with sparkles and rainbows so kids could watch it.

“Trigun, right?” I asked. He didn’t answer. “Or is it Trigon, something gay like that?” I nodded in thought. Recalling that it was Raven’s destiny to fight or kill him or something. I stared up at him, feeling nothing from the illusion. But for once, I didn’t feel useless. “I don’t have all my memories yet, but I wouldn’t mess with me. I’m a fucking pain in the ass to piss off. So send me the fuck back and stop wasting my-” He waved his hand and I was burning.

My skin on fire I was submerged in one of the lava lakes. My confidence gone, all I could do was scream as lava poured into me and my skin was eaten away. Then just as fast as it started it ended. Suddenly I was back in the room, my hands on Raven.

“Fucking daddy issues,” I said with a gulp as I pulled her down. Whatever was lifting her up resisted but she slowly dropped. When she was on the bed I released her but she started to float again. I moved myself on top, sitting on her hips. That was when I noticed she was whispering something.

Leaning in closer I heard the words, three weird ones she kept repeating in quick succession. “What is she saying?” Constantine asked.

“Uhhh Azeroth, Metroid, Mentos,” I said. “Maybe she is a gamer? The last one though, I mean your smoker’s breath is bad, so maybe she wants you to have a mentos.”

He stopped what he was fiddling with, looked up at me then rolled his eyes. “Just hold her down,” he ordered. I put my hands on her shoulders, her milky white skin fragile under my grip. John lifted a long jagged blade, whispering his own incantation. With a quick slash he cut the tip of his thumb, then he began to draw on her very tall forehead.

That was when I remembered Raven was supposed to have some red crystal mounted there. Her forehead looked way bigger with it gone. But John began to fill the blank canvas, drawing an eight-pointed cross with symbols surrounding it. All the while he whispered his spell. When he finished and pulled his hand away, Raven let out another otherworldly screech. The room around us vibrated with the power of it, then it died down almost instantly.

“Is she dead?” I asked, leaning forward, but my Hoken or Spark or whatever, could feel her alive.

“She is probably exhausted,” John said. Looking around the room there were holes in the walls and windows where the black tentacles tried to escape. “Let’s get the fuck out of here,” he said. I nodded seeing Raven’s cloak draped over a side chair. Throwing it on her I picked the girl up and we were out the door, onto some other stupid adventure.

Well I’m not exactly sure why I went this route. But I like where it ends up. Hope you guys do too.
