After waking up surprisingly well rested for once, I started my morning chores. I stretched and yawned widely as I was walking towards my fields. I feel really great today, as if a burden has been lifted." Seriously thank you Kanta, I haven't slept so well since...Well, I haven't slept well in forever. I don't know what you did exactly, but it was like your song relieved my mental burden somehow. "

The feather flashed bright gold with pink edges. "Aw, I love you too Kanta.  Anyway, I have a few things to do today. One is getting a bit more iron sand to make some tools, two is to make a wooden canoe. I plan to walk towards those mountains and find some materials. I will follow the river and canoe back later in the afternoon. If I don't find anything I may end up having to camp somewhere and continuing on until I do."

Kanta's feather flashed solid Orange and emitted a feeling of anxiousness. "Don't worry Kanta! I will be really careful; I even checked my status earlier and I now have the stealth skill. I will also use Wind Magic to control the air around me. That way my scent wont travel very far. I just hope we don't have to go too far from home to find what we need. On another good note, the herbs around the lake are growing back. I liked having that extra layer of protection last year. I thought about building my wall first, but I have to plan for the winter this year, the snow gets really bad here and I need to have my house built and prepared before then. I have a lot of work to do. I would rather not leave the area at all, but I have no choice. I must find those materials, and soon." Kanta's feather faded a bit but remained orange.

"I pulled a bit more iron sand out of the river near my house with Earth Magic. I struggled to even get five pounds. I then used Creation to make a pickaxe and a shovel. I then got a huge mana oak tree limb from my storage and used my creation and material manipulation to make a canoe. I even tried out my new unique skill Illusionary Etching. I used Illusion magic to cover my canoe in some nice patterns. I then activated the skill, and I watched as my illusion burned into the wood, leaving my pattern behind. "Cool, I will be able to make some really nice and detailed carvings later. I then made some paddles and made sure my new canoe was seaworthy by testing it in the lake. I even practiced for a while to make sure I had maneuvering down.

Finally, I was ready. I was dressed for success in a blue skirt, thigh high black socks, a green shirt and a brown leather armor and boots I had made from orc pelts. I even had on a brown cloak patterned with green leaves. I had of course made everything myself. I pulled up my hood, pulled out my dagger and started towards the mountains.

I had a beast repellant around my neck even though I was isolating my smell. You can never overprepare after all, and after everything I have been through lately... Well, I should be more careful. I have been way too reckless. I was following along the river as stealthily as I could at a brisk pace. I kept to my word and channeled Wind Magic to keep all the air around me from leaving, so my scent would not drift.  I was taking security to the max, so I am focusing constantly on my Detection Magic, watching every lifeforce I came across, and trying to avoid any in my path that seemed the slightest bit dangerous. I detected some lifeforms directly ahead after walking several miles, but they were recognizable. They are orcs! I carefully crept along and prayed my growling stomach would not give me away. I summoned several wind blades at the ready and peeked around the tree into the clearing ahead...

There were three orcs standing there. Remembering what happened with beast repellant and orcs before I redirected the wind around me to blow towards them. They started smashing the ground and rubbing their eyes, roaring in pain. I quickly launched my wind blades while they were distracted and killed them all. If you were looking you probably would have seen my eyes turn into anime meat.

I wiped my drooling face as I jogged towards them. Don't judge me! I haven't eaten anything other than fish sandwiches in forever.

After using Creation to separate and collect the meat, salt and oil from the fats. I collected the pelts and buried the rest with earth magic. This whole process only took me about three minutes. I quickly continued on my way worried about the scent of blood attracting other monsters." I wouldn't want to be caught Orc-hestrating the crime, Hehe." My hand flashed with Kanta's signature rapid yellow flash eyeroll for what I am sure won't be the last time.

I continued following the winding river through the forest when I reached a massive white and grey cliff with a huge waterfall. "Well, isn't this nice!" I yelled over the loud sound of crashing water. I walked up to the cliff and used analysis. It's mostly granite and the white parts are Limestone. I should be able to use limestone for quite a bit, so let's take a bunch. I used Earth Magic to cut a stairway up the cliff while harvesting the materials along the way. After about twenty minutes I was at the top of the cliff and ready to continue. "Man, magic sure is convenient. That would have taken humans who knows how long." I got another eye roll by Kanta in response...I could almost hear her thoughts like, what do you expect, they are humans? "Speaking off, Kanta, how do you know so much about the world? I mean you have not hatched yet, so you have never seen it right?

The feather turned the dark blue of sadness, then gold spiraled from the outer edges inside and then the feather flashed white and returned to its rainbow coloration.

I had to think about what she meant for a second. "Oh, do you mean when your mom sang her last song and turned to that golden dust? So, I guess when it was absorbed by your egg, you got all her knowledge?

The egg flashed white in affirmation, then turned blue again.

"Ah, I'm sorry Kanta! I didn't mean to make you sad. You see I am like that as well. I have another person's memories I mean. His name was Alex and he had lived on a different world. I don't know how I got his memories though as I had never met him before. I was in a human orphanage and got hit on the head and suddenly I had stuff in my mind I couldn't explain. it was really scary. I had just been hit on the head, and I was missing a lot of my memories, I still am come to think of it. Anyway, it was scary because I didn't know the person and he was an old man, so I only could remember a few years of my life but suddenly I remembered much more of his. It was like I was becoming him, or more like I was losing myself in his knowledge. I just wanted to make sure you were okay, as I was terrified. I'm sure it helps that it was your moms' memories though, so you must know how much she loved you. "

The feather flashed yellow and pink, then returned to blue.

I continued following the river, but the terrain was beginning to change. The trees were thinning and there were a lot more rocks around. I looked and the mountains still jutted into the sky far into the distance. It doesn't even look like I got any closer...They must be really huge and far away. I continued my journey, walking at a brisk pace still following the river. Eventually the rocks started to take on a red color.

"This is great! The red means there a lot of iron in the area, so even if I don't find a mine, I can extract from this if I have to!"

I kept going further and the rocks were mostly red now, there were high cliffs all around and I was walking into a canyon that the river had carved through the earth. Finally, I saw where the river came out of the mouth of a massive cave at the back of the canyon. I was getting lifeform readings from inside. I wasn't going to go in, but a cloud moved overhead, and I saw the sunlight glint off something on the cavern wall. I crept closer on silent feet, finally walking into the edge of the darkness of the cave entrance. I saw something glinting in the wall from the little bit of light that came though the cave opening and said Analyze.

The wall of the cave was shining with veins of multiple colors, gold, quartz, Halite!  It's really Halite! If you don't know, Halite is sodium chloride or rock salt! I am so happy, oh there is the classic dull grey and rust red of my iron vein. This is great! I can get all the metal I need from here!

But I warily eyed the dark of the inner cave, I am still reading life signs from a little deeper in. Getting an idea, I cast my soundproof barrier around my current position as big as I could make it. I got out my pickaxe but suddenly realized it would take way too long to do it by hand. I stared at it in disappointment as it was completely useless. You can join my meat smoker later for the uselessness club.

I then started using Earth Magic to remove giant blocks from the wall. I then placed them directly into my storage. I kept cutting deeper and deeper into the wall collecting as much as I can as fast as I can. I will look at everything later.

I continued mining for hours until I removed a block and saw a dark void. I nearly panicked as my latest sound barrier ended right in front of me and to make matters worse, I could detect many life forms in the cavern I had cut into. I couldn't see a thing though. I couldn't even see what types of ore I had been gathering. "I can't cast a light... Maybe I should try my Divine sight? I have still never used it since I got it... Screw it I'm going to go for it! "Divine Sight."

Suddenly I could see everything! I could see through the darkness, I could see Mana swirling through the air, and I could see the Mana Veins flowing deep within the earth. I could even see the ore veins running through the walls. And I let out an audible gasp as I could see what was alive in this cave. The lifeform nearest me was glowing in red and green. It had many legs...

Basically, massive spiders, and there were hundreds of them! They covered every bit of the cavern even the walls and ceiling. I immediately stepped back and used material manipulation to close the hole I had just made. I moved quickly back down my carved tunnel and out into the main cavern. "Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope!"

I was panicking a bit. I mean wouldn't you panic! Hundreds of Giant, Poisonous, Intelligent D Grade monsters.  I looked down into the main cave and saw more of them further inside in the shadows. One was actually moving in this direction as well. I don't think it has detected me yet, but I am making like the shepherd and getting the flock out of here!  I was moving back towards the exit when I happened to look at my hand, it was glowing with power, and I could see the outline of an egg superimposed under my feather tattoo. And in the center of the egg is the silhouette of a tiny chic glowing with so much power it hurt my eyes to look at it.

I stopped moving in shock. "Ah! I'm s-sorry Kanta! My Divine Sight was still active, and I a-accidentally looked at you and s-saw your s-status, p-please don't be m-mad at me." I said with tears streaming from my still glowing blue eyes. I focused on canceling my skill and the divine sight stopped. The cave instantly went completely black like the lights had gone out.

Kanta chirped and flashed blue. But it wasn't the blue of sadness. Forgiveness is the feeling being projected. I'm really sorry Kanta, I really didn't mean too. I was still crying, and Kanta suddenly chirped and flashed a bright orange with red edges. I could feel the emotions of panic and anxiety pouring off of her in waves. I was wondering why she was panicking when I heard a clicking sound behind me, I turned around and, on the ceiling, looking right at me was a massive black spider.

Venom dripped from its fangs as it hissed. The venom caused the rock beneath to smoke as it melted into the surface. I panicked and put up my strongest barrier. I then cast my biggest flame spell "Firestorm". Flames erupted from in front of me spiraling down the cavern. flames filled the entire space, and I heard the spider screech in pain.

I didn't stop the fire though as I ran towards the exit. As I ran, I heard even more screeches coming from deeper within the cave. I ran out of the cave and finally stopped the flames breathing heavily in fear... The rock of the cave wall was glowing deep into the cave with an orange glow. Some of the stone looked melted. I heard the loud skittering of many legs coming from deep within the cavern. "HELL NO!

I then summoned the same ten flame spheres I had used against the wolves as large as I could, really straining as they grew bigger and bigger. I then compressed them even further than ever before until they were the size of marbles. And for good measure, I then surrounded them with wind magic and quickly launched them as deep within the cavern as I could, and started running back down the canyon I came from. As I was running there was a massive explosion in the cave and many rocks fell from the roof and into the river which flowed from the cavern. Fire suddenly knocked me flying into the river and I was swept down the current.

I was splashing around trying to figure out which way was up. I suddenly remembered Alex taking swimming lessons as a child and the teacher telling him to always remain calm and steady and never panic. I saw light ahead and swam towards the surface. I broke the surface with a gasp, and I started swimming against the current angled towards the shore. I was about to panic again as I couldn't seem to fight the current at all. My small body kept getting pulled all around mercilessly.

Suddenly my face paled as I heard a loud roaring sound in the distance and remembered the massive waterfall I climbed to get up here. Then I finally remembered I had Water Magic... I pushed my Mana into the water from all around my body. I then used the water to push myself towards the shore. But I pushed too hard in my panic and launched myself high into the air.

I then landed heavily on the stone ground of the canyon with the waterfall a short distance away. I coughed and sputtered as I rolled onto my hands and knees. I was still coughing out water when I saw my tattoo flashing shifting colors of orange and red. After coughing a few more times I groaned and rolled over onto my back. After breathing heavily and coughing a few more times I cast High Heal on myself. "Don't worry Kanta, I am okay." The tattoo flashed a solid deep crimson that emitted the feelings of anxiety, fear, and admonishment. I felt some of my ribs snap back into place and I lost my concentration on the spell in the intense flash of pain.

I grit my teeth and was about to try to heal myself again when I heard a song coming from my hand. The somewhat muffled song was slow and uplifting. I closed my eyes and focused on the beautiful song. After about a minute of her singing I felt my scrapes and cuts close, and my broken ribs completely mend. The song stopped and I could tell Kanta was very tired. I quickly sent more Mana to my hand. Kanta flashed Bright pink color with the feeling of intense gratitude.

"I'm the one that is thankful Kanta. Thank you for healing me, you sure are amazing". I got up off the ground and saw the cave entrance far in the distance. It was still smoking with rocks and dust falling and Magma dripping from the roof...

"I might have overdone it a bit..." Kanta flashed red in admonishment again. I looked up at the sky and saw the sun was already sinking. "I mined for way to long." I cast dry on myself and started making my way down the stairs. After I made it down the stairs I sealed the stone stairways opening just in case...

I walked away from the waterfall until I found a spot where the river widened, and the rapids slowed down. The sun had already set, and it was dark out. I could see the two moons peaking over the trees above, and the first stars were twinkling. The mists had moved in even thicker, and I quickly plopped my canoe into the water and climbed in. I got out my paddle and started rowing down the river back towards home. I had no choice but to use light magic on my surroundings. After another hour my Canoe entered the lake. Spotting my tree in the distance I quickly rowed towards it.

After getting out and storing my canoe, I walked towards my tree, but as I got to the base I shivered and changed direction towards my bunker instead. I opened the trapdoor and cast a light sphere into the depths. I climbed down shutting the door behind me. I first circulated the air until the entire place smelled fresh. I made a fish sandwich not feeling like cooking the orc and walked towards the bathroom.

After filling and heating the tub, I removed my clothes and climbed into the warm water. I sighed as I washed my hair and felt the back of it was singed quite badly. "Kanta, it doesn't bother you if I get my tattoo wet does it?"

She flashed yellow and pink in response.

"No worries huh? Well, the mission was a success. I really hope I got enough iron and other materials because I don't want to go back there... ever." I shivered again as I remembered the giant black hairy spiders. I washed my body liberally, to remove the feeling of the river. As my hand went over my chest, I felt that I was growing in all kinds of places. "I will need to start wearing a bra soon. Actually, I will make some in the morning." I finished my bath and dried my body with magic. I used a towel for my hair though, when I use drying magic on my hair it really poofs up, and it has had plenty enough damage for one day.

I got dressed in some loose shorts and a t-shirt I had made myself. I walked around the vast multitude of wood sculptures I had made chuckling to myself at the amount. I got to the bed and looked at the tiny military cot styled tiny bed. "This just won't do. I searched every nook and cranny of my storage and managed to find about six pounds of iron sand that had been left over from some project or another. When I got access to all the memories of Alex, I learned everything he ever knew. That includes how a bed is made...

I stored all of the wood sculptures in my storage as well as the crap bed. I used creation to turn the iron sand into many metal springs. I then used creation again with the springs, wood, and fabric and made a fairly nice-looking mattress. I then made the bedframe with more wood, leaving it plain. I used more fabric and wood to make a boxspring for my bed. I assembled everything and had a nice if plain bed from Alex's world.

I used more of my roll of fabric and made sheets and a new blanket. I then made several super fluffy pillows. I then crawled into my new bed and cringed a bit. The sheets were just rough linen and were pretty scratchy, I tried to use Creation to turn them into silk sheets but got a massive headache. "Ah, I remember silk is made by worms not plants." I feel like I could do it if I had more MP, but I just don't have enough yet.

Thinking, I tried again and successfully turned them to Egyptian cotton. Hah, that's so much better. "Goodnight Kanta. Thanks again for saving me today. I love you and will see you to...morrow." I immediately drifted off to sleep, my mana being so low after everything that had happened today. It was very tiring for me after all. The feather on my hand flashed a deep pink color and Kanta sang her song of Peace once again.

The next morning, I opened my eyes but continued to lay in my bed. This bed is dangerous, it's the most comfortable thing I have ever laid on, I could just lay here for a week. Finally, my stomach growled, and I climbed out of bed. I stretched as I got up and did my morning rituals, light orb, clean on my teeth and body, and I decided to cook a nice meal and fried up some orc meat. I then finally ate my delicious... orc sandwich! Ah, so tasty, and its finally not a fish sandwich... I can't wait for my veggies to grow.

After that I walked to my ladder taking one last longing filled look back towards my new bed. I will upgrade my blanket later and some pillowcases as well. I can do better than rolled up linen for a pillow after all. I opened my trapdoor and peeked outside. Nothing showing up on Detection? Coast is clear. No giant spiders waiting to ambush me? Thank the Gods.

I climbed out and watered all my crops with water magic. I basically just made it rain over the fields for some time, it doesn't take long at all. After that I walked back over towards my house's foundation, and the bench I had made the day before. I made a stone platform on the ground next to my bench and got out all the blocks of stone and ore I got from yesterday's adventure. After it was all setting there together, I realized I practically took enough to make my own cave.

I walked up to the first ten-foot cube and focused on my Creation Magic, I wanted piles of useful Materials, the stone of the wall can become sand. The light flashed and I suddenly had piles of various things. Analyze. "I have piles of quartz, sand, gold, and iron. There is a lot more gold than iron in this block though. I checked my Mana and saw that it only took a hundred to separate everything. I decided to take a good look at my status as it has been a while, and I noticed a few changes. Like the fact I had a literal shit ton of Mana now for example.

"Wow! My Creation finally leveled up, and my MP is through the roof. All my Magic skills ranked up, and ohhhhh! My body reinforcement skill changed! It upped all my physical stats by a lot! And Fire and Light Magic ranked up too level eight! Finally! Oh, look Kanta, we are listed as Family."

Kanta's feather flashed bright pink with a red outline.

"No need to feel embarrassed Kanta. I already told you we are family and will always be together. I consider you being listed as family the most important change in my status. I already said it last night right, I love you. I hope you can grow to love me as well."

As the pink color turned almost completely red, I thought I had made Kanta angry, but I could feel the Emotions rolling off of her. It took me a moment to decipher. Embarrassment, shyness, Happiness, a little sadness, and love. I decided to not say anything else and get back to work. My status made me feel very happy though. How long did I franticly train to up my magic skills over the winter. My progress had seemed to be stalled. But now I broke through! And I am no longer alone, even if my only companion is currently my tattoo. No, not companion, family.

I continued using Creation to deconstruct all of the stone blocks, I then used Creation again to Forge all the metals into ingots and all the other into blocks of materials. I was especially happy about the metric ton of rock salt. I will turn it to table salt later. Ah my future meals are looking up!

After spending several days breaking everything down and combining and categorizing everything, I ended up with forty tons of iron, ten tons of gold, ten tons of aluminum, two tons of silver, two tons of quartz, twenty tons of coal, twenty-two tons of copper, and various small amounts of gems and other assorted metals and minerals. This is awesome. Actually, aren't I really rich now? Maybe I will make a gold statue of Kanta once she is hatched! I also have enough granite leftover in my storage to bury someone in a rockslide. "Look at all this granite Kanta, if any humans ever mess with us, I am going to give them a hard time, Hehe."

The tattoo turned a dull grey color. I am not sure, but I think it's a sigh.

I put everything back in storage except the iron ingots. I started using material manipulation to stretch each ingot into rebar, but I stopped. I stared at the iron for a bit and put away half of it, then pulled out some coal. I tried using creation to merge the two into steel ingots. I felt a huge amount of my Mana flow out and I now had a large stack of carbon steel ingots. I had to sit down as my Mana was now really low. I pulled out a medium strength mana potion and chugged it down. I then meditated for a few hours, trying to get my Mana up again.

After Meditating for two hours, I checked and saw my MP was over half full again. As I was focusing on my MP, I noticed something. The amount Kanta was absorbing constantly had nearly doubled. It was actually taking a little over half my Mana regeneration to keep it up. I am going to have to slow things down even more if she takes more than this. I won't say anything though as I don't mind.

Hopefully my new regeneration skill will keep getting a constant workout and continually level up more and more as the amount she needs increases. I should try to work on my Alchemy a bit as well over the next few months, to see if I can find a solution. I may need to make High potions if she completely cancels out my regeneration.

I spent the next week making as much steel rebar as I could. Today I planned on finishing my foundation and walls for the first floor while intermixing all of the rebar. I had already doubled the thickness and size of the Diabase foundation. My initial one wasn't the right shape or size for my house blueprint. Well, I say blueprint, but it is just a sketch of the basic shape.

I started laying out the rebar in an alternating grid pattern across the entire foundation. The basement I had made previously was quite small in comparison, so I might be able to expand it later. After I had laid out all the rebar, I used almost my entire MP pool to sink the rebar into the Diabase foundation. Afterwards I again needed to sit down as I felt exhausted, but the foundation of my new home is now done. I had still only used about a quarter of my premade rebar. By the way I had found that the denser and more Mana in a material the harder it is to manipulate with magic. If I ever get a fantasy metal, I may have to use actual blacksmith techniques to work with it, so the future smithy is a must.

After meditating until the afternoon and drinking a few Mana potions, I started taking premade bricks of diabase out of storage and placing them around the foundation. I said bricks but they are quite large. Each is seven feet long and high but only two feet wide. I was fortunately able to place them exactly where I wanted them with storage. I continue stacking them and adding the rebar with material manipulation, then fusing them together making the wall and foundation one solid piece.

For the next two months I continued this as much as I could until I had my exterior walls stacked to a solid thirty feet. Carbon steel rebar was interwoven throughout all of it, and it was all joined as one solid piece. I also had finished the second floor and all I had left for the exterior is the roof. I have the openings for the windows, but I have yet to make them. I had made the entire structure as sturdy as possible, pouring millions of Mana into my efforts.

I next got out a large number of trees and turned them all into timber. I climbed up my scaffolding to the roof. The second-floor ceiling was done quickly as it was going to be a wooden floor for the attic and the roof. I used large wooden timbers for the braces this time. I say this time because the second floor itself actually had steel beams inside the floor that stretched all the way across. I wasn't sure what I was doing completely so I had to do some experimentation. One thing I know is that this building will never collapse unless there is some extreme disaster, like a certain scaly bastard for example. I shivered as I remembered the huge orange eye staring at me. I wiped the new tears from my eyes and decided to ignore it and get back to work. I am on a schedule after all.

It took me another month to finish the attic floor and roof. I tried to mimic the houses I had memories of from Alex's world. The slant of the roof was quite steep as the amount of snow we get here is ridiculous. I had brought the stone infused with rebar up all the way to the roof, I was going to use wood at first, but the attic had openings for large bay windows almost all the way around. It wasn't cramped at all either, it was now basically a third floor. The view from up top is amazing, you can see all the way around in every direction.

I sat on a wooden chair in my finished attic, I sipped a glass of ice water as I admired the view over the lake. It was hot as it was now the middle of summer. I admired all I had got done in the past four months. The interior still needs tons of work, but the exterior is finished as of today. I ended up putting on a steel sheet roof. I was going to use clay tiles at first, but I never found a large deposit of clay like I wanted too. And it was faster and easier to use the steel...

My hand suddenly flashed a multitude of colors. "Yes Kanta, this is going to be our new home. I wanted a lot of space because I have a lot of hobbies I will be pursuing. I spent all last winter alone in the basement. It was lonely, cramped and dark. I... I wanted something bigger and better, full of light and fresh air. And now that you are with me, I am no longer lonely. I feel that we can be happy here in the future. As long as I can figure out a way to protect us... There are creatures in the forest that scare me. I have sensed their life energy with my Detection Magic on my hunts, I always avoid them though."

My hand flashed another multitude of colors in rapid succession.

"Yes, we will work together to protect our new home, that is if you ever decide to bring yourself out of that egg. I can't wait to see how beautiful and majestic you are. If you look anything like your mother, you will be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."

The feather flashed red with annoyance.

" You know I am just teasing you; I know you have quite a while to go yet, your mom said a year after all."

I stood up and stored my chair. "Now let's get the interior frame installed, the pipes, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, insulation and the inner walls. Then the floors, windows and doors. Lastly will be the most time-consuming... furniture. I hope we have enough time before Fall."

One thing I had not mentioned is the fireplace that runs up through all the floors. Each floor has a beautiful Marble Fireplace installed already, with a stylish chimney coming out of the roof. The chimney had a nice grate and covering to keep things from falling into it and prevent downdrafts. Each fireplace had a metal grate in the base and a metal gate that wraps around the opening to protect the interior of the house from embers. I worked hard on it. I have tested it, and it works great with no leaks anywhere.

I already had all the wood prepared already so it only took me one afternoon to run around and do the interior framing. It took another week to finish making and installing the pipes, sinks, toilets and bathtubs, making doubly sure the drainage worked correctly and had no leaks. I sighed when I finished the last bathtub. "Sigh... Now the insulation, and the wood panels for covering the walls."

Another week flew by. Not only because of the house, but because my crops were ready to be harvested in mass. Well not all of them, some still need a little longer. But I had harvested all I could. I now had a storage full of vegetables. Plus, some crops could be harvested every week. The Zucchini was particularly ridiculous with how much it produced. My meals have vastly improved lately though.

I just finished installing the wooden wall panels and glass windows, I was about halfway done with the floors. I have the tilework done in the bathrooms and kitchen and all of the wooden flooring finished as well. I am currently trying to figure out how to make and install carpet. The smithy I of course left the stone floor. I got out a huge amount of cellulose and used Creation to turn it into a fluffy soft cotton carpet in all the bedrooms.

Now all the floors and walls are done. The house is very bare bones, but it is mostly done. I went back up into the attic and marveled at the beauty of the finished room. I had compressed all the wood for the flooring, so it was white but shiny.

The next day I installed a large wooden front door with locks and a bar that goes across the inside. The door actually has a steel center as well, I tried to kick it in, and it didn't budge at all, even with all my strength. Afterward I ran around installing cabinets and interior doors on all the rooms. It took me a while to make enough hinges, but my blacksmithing has improved greatly. I made a new bed for my bedroom as well. I upgraded the materials as much as I could and ended up with a King-sized bed with Egyptian Cotton sheets and comforter. I made it nature themed with leaves and vines flowing over the entire frame. Because I could I made closets in the rooms and a large cedar storage chest at the foot of my bed. I then made a dresser and some end tables. The bed even had a fabric canopy. I also made thick drapes for my bedroom windows. I made the attic stairway in my room as well. It was a spiraling wooden staircase that was still plain as of yet. I planned to do a lot of the woodworking after winter begins.

Another week went by, and I had once again installed trim at the top of the walls and baseboards at the bottom, so it all looked nicer. I will engrave everything during the winter again. I am trying to leave myself a lot to do this time as I remember how boring it gets...It is now the very end of summer, and I am rushing to get everything finished to a level of satisfaction.

Well, the house is now complete! Well, the bathrooms and the kitchen are complete. I had even made oil lamps for light. I used glass and oil made from the fat of the orcs. I tested them and at first, I was happy because my whole house smelled like bacon when they were lit. I quickly got sick of it through and used Creation to purify the oil. I will try to add some better scents next time. Maybe pine or something. My Status has changed a lot in the past three months. Status.

The biggest change of course, I am a year older, I was so busy, I completely forgot to celebrate my birthday. It is hard to believe I have been in this forest for a whole year. I really managed to survive. My best birthday present is my new house and family though.

Alot of my skills have leveled up, but the big winner is my Legendary Mana Control. It gave me a unique skill called Fractionalization. When I got it, it doubled my Mana pool. Doubled it! That's the main reason I was able to finish my house in time for winter.

Speaking of winter, I now need to start foraging for winter and stocking up on meat and firewood. The Fall also seems to be when the orc population explodes around here as well. I am doing lots better food wise with all my crops though. Especially as I now have some idea of what I need to survive the winter. The corn was harvested recently but the second batch of wheat still needs to be harvested. I had replanted the wheat after the first harvest thinking I had time for another batch. I just stored all the bundles of wheat in my storage though. I will figure out the threshing and grinding later. For now, it is time to get that bacon!

As I was preparing to set out for my hunt, I looked towards my plain and empty smithy, the only thing it had was a door. I am really going to have to think on how to make a decent forge. I will need refractory brick. Oh, if I can make the firebrick, I can make a kiln for pottery as well. I will obviously make a wood kiln... Thankfully when I focus on my blacksmithing skill, I get a general idea of the process and tools I will need. I still need to make a lot of furniture for my house as well. It is just an empty new house. I still only have one rickety wooden chair so far. I still have my fluff chair in the basement though. I will also be redesigning the basement. Sigh, so much to do. I wish I still had another few months to work on my house. But I am out of time.

I wanted to make a wall, but I will not have time this year sadly. I am thinking about using earth magic to make a moat though. I can make drawbridges and have the river offshoot and wrap around my property line. That should at least keep the riffraff out and provide me with some protection. Well, I will just have a deep for trench now, the winter would just freeze it after all and make my moat useless. I have still been using my Beast repellants constantly. I am running out of the herbs I need though.  So, it's also on my list for gathering.  Thinking of all the things I still needed to do, I sighed warily as I walked towards the danger filled forest to collect what I need.
